I don't read paranormal romance very often. When I do, I always turn to L.G. Castillo. Her writing style never fails to captivate me from the first page until the very last. I am a huge fan of her Broken Angel series. When I heard that she was writing another paranormal series, I was over the moon excited! These beautiful creatures always own a piece of my heart.

Archangel's Fire follows Senna's journey. At eighteen, the last thing Senna expected was for her life to be turned upside down by the presence of an Archangel. Cadriel was sent to the Sanctuary for a very specific reason. In order to remove a curse, Senna and Cade will have to work together. As days go by, Senna and Cade grow closer together. They are surrounded by danger and every rule that they break can bring consequences that will change their lives forever. Will they be able to break the curse without breaking too many rules?

I absolutely loved the connection between Senna and Cade. Their slow burn romance was heart-melting. Senna got under Cade's skin and he did his best to resist her. He's an Archangel after all and their ultimate rule is that duty always comes first. I loved how they helped each other on this journey. Senna was a fascinating heroine that completely transformed before my eyes during this reading escape. With each new obstacles, she became stronger and determined. Don't even get me started on Cade!! He was always there to protect and guide Senna on this entire journey. He made me swoon so many times and I don't blame Senna one bit for falling for him. Sometimes breaking the rules is absolutely worth it!

L.G. Castillo created such a fantastic new world to fall in love with! Senna's journey was fascinating and it hooked me from the very first chapter. I felt like I was living this journey by her side this entire time. All the details that the author included in this story about the scenery, the characters and the Sanctuary made me feel more connected to this reading journey.

The supporting cast of characters in this story was awesome! This author always writes characters that pull you in. From Big John to Lukas, you will discover the beautiful connection they have with Senna and how they help her on her journey. This book can be read as a standalone. It delivers a HEA that will leave a smile on your face.

I give, Archangel's Fire, by L.G. Castillo, 4.5 riveting, action-packed, page-turning stars!

After devouring the Fallen Angels series by this author, I eager ly picked up this new angelic novel. This book is set in a post-apocalyptic world some twenty years after a devastating war between angels and witches.

(Side note: I would love to read about the events surrounding and preceding this war *wink wink nudge nudge*)

Senna has grown up in the Sanctuary, a small village with guardians (angels) looking over them. She was raised very sheltered by Tovah, one of the guardians, but feels betrayed by her because of the death of her angel sister Hannah.

Out of curiosity, she crosses the Sanctuary boundary, breaking a most important rule. In doing so, she slowly comes to realize just how sheltered she has been. During subsequent events, she also learns about her true heritage and her key role in ending a terrible curse.

Together with her friend Lukas, guardian Big John, and archangel Cadriel, she sets out towards the vibrant, mysterious, and dangerous city of Las Vegas, where a demon lord has established his reign. During their journey they have to brave the harsh desert as well as attacks by the demon lord’s hunters. Things become even more dangerous s they arrive in Las Vegas.

The author paints a vivid picture of the idyllic Sanctuary within a devastated world. Because the Sanctuary is set up as a pre-industrial, rural community, many modern-day commodities are unknown to Senna. I liked how the author showed Senna’s wonder at things we take for granted.

For a while I was worried there would be some kind of love triangle, or unrequited love between friends, to complicate things. The author handled this scenario wonderfully. I also liked how Senna dealt with her internal struggle regarding her growing feelings for Cade, especially considering Hannah’s fate. I would like to read more about this moving forward. Could there be a sequel?

Another thing I greatly appreciate about LG Castillo is how she weaves supernatural aspects such as angels and witches into the ‘real’ world – or a recognizable, albeit post-apocalyptic, version of it. Then, the way she describes Senna tapping into her power and learning to control it… this was done wonderfully. I only wish the final battle would’ve gotten more space.

Senna has happiness and sorrow.
She regrets the death of her sister Hannah, and even more to know that she died through their own mother. But the most difficult thing for her was to discover certain secrets when this episode happened.
Senna lived protected inside the Sanctuary.

Her friend Lukas and his family treated her as one of their own family.
However, Lukas kept a secret about what existed beyond the walls of the Sanctuary, and as a curious teenager, Senna went to check for herself.

This adventure almost made Senna lose her life, and she is saved by a stranger. An archangel. Cadriel, known as Cade.

Cade was looking for the entrance to the Sanctuary because he had a mission: to find Tovah and find out the witch who would with him in a mission in Vegas to destroy the curse.

Once again Senna and Cade's paths intersect, but in a way the two did not expect or desire.

Senna learns more about her past and that now, the survival of everything she has known as Home, and her friends, depend on her and powers that she insists say do not possess.

The trip has two more people to help: Lukas and Big John, one of the guardians who was also the Sanctuary's Historian teacher. Big John loves Senna as his own daughter.

Dangers were waiting for them. Senna is introduced to powers she did not know, as well as the lives of human beings - and their astounding inventions.
But in addition, Senna feels lost in front of her feelings.
With the gift of having visions, Senna was certain that her future was intertwined with Lukas, but somehow Cade's presence stirred her head, and she was lost.

Taking such responsibility on her shoulders, Senna would have to focus her attention on destroying Rahab and the Hunters, save the Sanctuary, and only then, she could see where her heart hung...

An angelic adventure, without cliffhanger.

DNF at about 33%, so far earning just one star.

It doesn’t seem fair to rate this as one star after quitting a third of the way through. But it isn’t worth my time to read more and get increasingly frustrated simply to justify the formal rating.

My problem is with Senna, the protagonist. She is immature, even for eighteen. She is rude, impulsive, and repeatedly does stupid things despite bragging about how clever she is. In short, I find her annoying and don’t care what she does or what happens to her.

Harsh, but life is short.

What can I say, I love fallen angels books, and L.G. Castillo is known for her Fallen Angel Series, which I loved. Archangel’s Fire is a wonderful story about Senna and Cade, their slow burning romance grabs you, but not only that, the story behind it all captures you and doesn’t let you go until you are done with the last page. The adventures they find, how they risk their lives and the misión Cade has makes this book a must read. I am sure you will find it as entertaining as I did, definitely would love to read more from this world.

Senna and Cade.
In a world of witches and angels...we all have to make choices and those choices have consequences-some are more personal and permanent than others. Some affect more than just us, sometimes you have to break a rule in order to make things better. This is that story. I LOVED IT!!!!
I received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing the story.

Archangel's Fire is a very well written post apocalyptic angel story by L. G. Castillo. This book is quite different and unique, which makes it a gem in my opinion. This book has a very well developed plot that follows an intricate story line with some really nice twists hidden within. The pace is just plain perfect and really moves along beautifully. There is lots of action, and some simmering romance that slowly blossoms.

Senna is just plain and simple adorable. She is true to her heart and may not always think things through, but she does what her heart tells her is right, which may not agree with her brain sometimes, but she will figure out the consequences later. This makes her someone the world needs more of. If people like her would exist more in real life, well the world would be a much better place.

Cade is the perfect male counter part. He goes through quite the transformation and has probably the most character development in this book, since he really learns a lot during their adventure. He is strong, but realizes that doesn't always mean he has to always carry all the weight, but can rely on others.

I really enjoyed how the author combined various different parts of the paranormal in this book in a cohesive manner and made it a very enjoyable book. It had a lot of action, a plot that was very well executed and characters that made you "feel" the story.

This was my first book that I have read by this author, but something tells me it won't be the last.

I have received this book from the author for an honest review. (LoP, Lovers of Paranormal)

My thoughts : What a nice story with a lot of originality to it ! A witch and an Archangel ! How can it go wrong ? It doesn't. The story is very well-written and the characters are also well thought of. Cade and Senna make a great pair ! There were many heart breaking scenes in the book. The way Senna remembers Hanna's death and how Senna rescues Cade from the quicksand.. Very emotional and much needed for the story to progress and the bond to get stronger. I initially thought Lukas might give a love-triangle direction to the story, but thankfully that cliche was avoided :D

And the first line 'When I was five, my mother killed my sister'.. Really ?? Color me intrigued ! I definitely could not NOT complete the story ! Well played, Ms.Castillo ! There were many wow moments as well, when Senna slowly understands her power and how she can wield it. The end to the story was also very fitting ! After all, love conquers all, doesn't it ??

Quite liked this story. Though I sympathized with the lead character Senna, as she felt like she was being being told things and kept ignorant, despite her being needed to destroy a curse. I felt like I came in part way through a series, as some of the world/character building is done in broad strokes

I got sucked into this book from the first page. I love books about the Archangels, the story just flowed and I grew to like Cade very much. Lukas was a tad annoying with his jealousy issues and I felt for Senna when she found out she had been lied to her whole life.

I volunteered to read this ARC and my opinions are my own.

The Watchtower is an interesting concept for a book series but I found myself becoming annoyed with Senna. She came across as TSTL
