Once a Disciple, forever a Disciple. Man whore. Ex-con. All-around asshole.
Daz is called a lot of seedy things.
But his brothers know there’s more to him
even if it is buried deep beneath the surface.

A Disciple will fight like a savage and never give up.

As a stripper, Avery is no stranger to judgment. That doesn't stop her from assuming Daz is nothing more than a hot body, though.
But when tragedy lets her see behind the cocky-jackass exterior,
there's no denying the truth. For this biker to go down, there has to be more than sparks—he needs full combustion. This novel contains explicit sexual situations, violence, and offensive language, and is recommended for audiences 18 years of age and older. It can be read as a standalone.

Combust was the fifth book in the Savage Disciples series by Drew Elyse. I've been waiting to get Daz's story and it was worth the wait!

Daz had been one of my favorite Disciples since Shift, book two. I absolutely melted every time Daz was with Emmy (Sketch and Ash's daughter). Although he was always and forever the gorgeous jokester playboy, he was wonderful with Emmy and they developed this Uncle/Niece bond. He was also loyal to his brothers and their women. Very few saw underneath the exterior, but his family - both by blood and the MC bond - knew there were gentle and caring layers beneath all that laid back humor.

Avery was the manager at the strip club owned by the MC. She didn't mix business with pleasure so she kept the flirty Daz at bay, until it was too much work to continue fighting it.

Combust had a sweet vibe between Daz and Avery once they agreed to play out their attraction. However, Elyse also included secondary plots that were heartbreaking and realistic. No spoilers here, just know it's incredibly emotional mixed in with some mild dark themes.

The storyline was well developed and multi-dimensional. There were quite a few editing errors that took away from the storyline; otherwise, the story itself was well written.

Elyse continued to draw us in with the strong supporting cast of characters within the MC, some that were highlighted in previous books, as well as others that will hopefully have their own story. Stone, the Disciples President, is up next. And with all of the MC children running around, hopefully Elyse will gift us soon with an offspring spin off.

Well hells bells, I wasn't expecting our Razzle Dazzle to waltz in like he owned the joint & steal my beating heart, but I'll be damned that's exactly what he's gone & done. My cheeky, charming, insanely sexy manwhore of a biker, has dazzled me with his passion, loyalty, love & respect, making sure that I fell hard & fast for him.

I have loved his character through this whole series - he's brought many a laugh & a smile to my face. Knowing he was getting his own story, well I knew his match would have to be one hell of a firecracker who was strong enough to give his ego a run for its money. Hawt damn did I get that in Avery.

Avery worked in the strip club owned by the Disciples, technically Daz was her boss. She knew not to get involved with the management. He knew he had to find out just how sweet she tasted. They say denial is futile & in their case that was soooooo true, because crikey when Avery stopped denying him & he finally had her in his grasp - well you got an explosive, intense, electrifying connection, one that left your heart racing & your panties melting.

I loved how their story played out. I laughed loads, sighed plenty & actually cried a whole lot as the true Daz began to shine. Our feisty Avery, even with past hurts & lack of trust gave her all to the one man who was strong enough & man enough to love her how she needed it. All while, this beautiful man, learned what family, friends & that all important loved one can bring to your world & just how good life can be, even when faced with the saddest of circumstances.

This series is & will continue to be one of MC favs. The men, their kick ass women & the kids who bring so much colour, feel like old friends I hook up with on a regular basis. Roll on Stones story!!

Combust is book 5 in the Savage Disciples MC and I loved it from beginning to end. Daz was awesome, he went from man whore to an amazing one woman man. I loved the connection between him and Avery. This read was definitely emotional and my heart broken several times. Avery was great. She was so much more than just a stripper. She had dreams and goals that were taken away from her but never did she feel sorry for herself. She was also a sweet and loving woman. The relationship between her and Daz was great mainly because they were always honest with each other and there were no games or misunderstandings. It also didn't hurt that the sexy times were super hot and Daz is super naughty. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series since it appears to be Stone's book. I was hoping that the older members would find love too.

hmmmm again this just didnt ring true.

daz hooks up with a stripper from his club and suddenly he's committed and in love and claiming her? it just didnt ring true for his character at all.

Avery just happens to be stunningly gorgeous, have an amazing body, she's a stripper with a heart oh and she can cook like a pro. fuck me i'll go slit my wrists now. too too prosaic. too easy, too simplistic, too perfect, too much of everything..

sigh sigh.... mundane and meh.....

Combust is the 5th book in this standalone steamy contemporary MC romance series. If you have read previous book in this series then you'll remember Daz as "Razzle Dazzle" the man whore of the MC. I loved how Drew gave us this whole other side to him. He always been such a likeable character but in this book i feel hard for his other side. Daz we know is loyal to the Disciples, what we didn't know was how much that loyalty went to to the people he cared the most about!!

I adored Avery in this book. She's been a stripper at the club that Daz and the Disciples own "The Candy Shop". She hasn't exactly had an easy life either. But has been bound and determined to make it on her own and make her own dreams come to reality. I loved how she just didn't give into Daz's advances right away and made him work for it.

Combust had everything for me i laughed, i cried, i loved. As both Daz and Avery shined together seeing just how good life can be, even when faced with the saddest of circumstances. As long as we have that one person standing beside us we can face anything!!

I love a good MC story/ series. This is a great read and has just the right amount of heat (sexy time) and once it starts it just keeps happening.
Daz runs the Candy Shop, a strip club, and it's where the one stripper he wants but he can't have.
He pursues her at any time he's at the shop and she shoots him down each time.
Avery hasn't had a great life but, she is going to make it. She has been stripping since she was legal
and saving every penny to be able to open her own bakery. She keeps baking, like her granny taught her and sometimes she bakes for her friends.
The club is having a birthday party for Daz at Candy Shop and Avery is one of the five strippers that will be performing and when she taking the stage Daz sits at the edge of the stage and holy hotness is going to happen.
Grab your fan because you will need it and let the hot sex begin.

Loved it.

Daz is the loud mouth playboy with a heart of gold....we get to see this with his interactions with Emmy. Avery is a woman with a plan....and being a stripper forever is not it, but you do what you have to. These two are great together in their exclusive non relationship. When Daz loses someone close to him, someone he thought would always be there he takes on new responsibilities and we get to see the man behind the smile. When Avery's past comes back to haunt her will Daz be able to help or will she let him. There is a surprise near the end that I didn't see coming and makes me anxious for the next story.

Really enjoyed this Drew Elyse book this series is really good this one had a bit more emotion then what the others in the Savage disciples had . I felt so bad for the hero and what he has lost was not expecting that . The heroine also has been through some loss is was awesome when they finally got together and explored what they had . Can't wait to see whats to come in the series.

Instead of telling us the story of main characters and their feelings we get to know deep feelings of other characters. H's sister in law and her son are more important in this book then the H and h.

There are also so MANY unnecessary details that are not even important for the story such as how a cake a baked or how it tastes so good that author made an essay on it.

And then Ember. Fvcking Ember never leaves! She keeps appearing in every fvcking book and piss me off! The previous book I read, I loved it so much but as per my review, she ruined the book for me, here nothing is different, she ruined this book too. Appearing in every fvcking chapter even when she is not needed!

Anyway, as I said, this book mostly focuses on other characters than the lead characters, so there was no way I got any connection to any of the characters nor did I feel any story building up, just nothing. Nada.

Although this is the 5th book in the Savage Disciple's series I for some reason didn't realise this and just popped it on my kindle from KU. Then I read it could be read as a standalone and decided to give it a go anyway. I'm so glad I did. This is my first book from Drew Elyse and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Daz & Avery's story was definitely combustible, their chemistry was smoking hot. There were a few huge twists that I wasn't expecting and yes this book was excellent and made me want to go back and read the rest of this series! They are all on Kindle Unlimited which is an added bonus. I love when I find new fab authors and Drew is one of them for me!

13/1/18 - one of my very fave series. first read when the original three books were released as the Disciples' Daughters, though the series evolved to the Savage Disciples MC. tough alpha males, strong loving females, wonderful children. plenty of action, danger, romance but the overall theme I see as family. love the writing style, the stories and the characters. a great series that I have no probs reading over again

23.10.18 - just about to begin the sailor's grave series so decided to catch up with the last few books of the Savage Disciples. book 5 lays down Kate's (bk 1 SG) background so it was a good place to start. a great series, very well written, somewhat cliched at times but it is a favourite that I always enjoy

I have to say that the Savage Disciples is one of my all around favorite, go to, re-read MC series. I love all the books in this series and all of the guy's and their gals. But I'll be honest and say that Sketch has always been my main squeeze throughout the whole series. And Sketch and Ash have always been my favorite couple in this series. But be still my little beating heart my Razzle Dazzle may have just stolen that spot in my heart, or come in very close to stealing my heart for first place. I don't think anyone can come as close as Sketch.... I do have to say that I've always liked Daz through out this series and was extremely happy when I heard he was getting his own book. I couldn't wait to read it and found out more about Daz. I couldn't put this book down as soon as it landed on my kindle. And not only does Sketch need to watch out that Daz may have just stolen my heart. But I think maybe Daz and Avery may have just become my newest favorite couple.....

Oh my gosh I can't tell you how much I loved Daz, AKA Razzle Dazzle, in this book. As I kind of mentioned above I've always had a soft spot for Daz through out this series. He is the self proclaimed Manwhore of the group. But underneath all of his player ways is a really sweet, kind, caring, and protective guy that only his club gets to see. I loved getting to know Daz better in this book and my heart even broke for him at times. He really had to kind of grow up in this book and be responsible for other people besides himself.

I adored Avery in this book. She's a stripper at the club that Daz and the Disciples own the Candy Shop, and goes by the name Cherry Pie. She hasn't exactly had an easy life either. But has been bound and determined to make it on her own and make her own dreams come to reality. I loved how she just didn't give into Daz's advances right away and made him work for it.

This book held everything that I love about an MC book or any book in general in it. It made me laugh, it made my cry, it had a little bit of drama, it made my heart melt, and of course it definitely didn't lack in the smexiness department. I loved seeing the other Disciples and their women make appearances in this book. And as I mentioned at the beginning of this review Sketch and Ash better watch out because Daz and Avery may just end up stealing their spot as my favorite couple.

I'm giving this book 5 Stars out of 5 and can not wait for Stones book!!!!!

3.5 stars

I have to say this is one of the most mellow mc books I have read in a long time. There is a lot that goes on in the book, but it seems to be a very slow process in the book. The characters are good and I really enjoyed Daz in the book. He had a lot going on and what happens during the book really puts life in perspective for Daz. I think it all just came on at once in the book instead of it being during the whole book. At times I think too much was going on at once and it kind of got me sidetracked at times. Avery was a pretty cool woman. It was awful what happened to her during this book and what she had to endure but , she made it through and that is all you can ask for. My favorite character out of everyone was Doc. He was wise beyond his years. His advice was right on point with everyone and he just made everyone feel welcomed. It was pretty cool to have that character in this book, he seemed to tie everyone up without seeming forced.

At the beginning of the book Avery had a lot of stuff going on. I loved how strong she was and how she took charged, even in her line of work she seemed determined to fit in. Avery has liked Daz for a very long time, but never acted on it because he was her boss and she didn't want to be looked different from anyone else. When Daz's birthday come up, everything changes. The attraction is there and they both know it, so needless to say they both got what they needed. What is one night, becomes more. The problems that arise are from Avery's past and Daz's family. Things happen in this book that really sucked. I hated that Daz was put in a position that he had no choice to figure out how to fix it. Avery's past comes back and hurts both her and Daz. Mistakes are made. Consequences for actions will be taken. Not everyone will be coming out of this book untouched.

I really like the authors writing. I think it is just a personal take on the book. I think I was looking for something that would have had me wanting more, and I just didn't find it in this book. This is one of my favorite authors and I hope the next book in this series will be better than ever.

Avery works at a strip club, Candy Shop, managing the girls and as a stripper herself on the weekends. The current club she works for is owned by the Savage Disciples MC. Avery has dreams of opening her own bakery one day but until then she does her job and saves her money.

John "Daz" Larson is a member of the Savages Disciples and is in charge of running the Candy Shop. Lately he is concerned with the girls safety after the club has been getting some weird phone calls. From the first time he saw Avery he has wanted her and for his birthday he is hoping to finally get her.

Yet Daz's life changes in an instant when his brother dies and he is left trying to care for his nephew, Owen, and sister-in-law, Kate. As he struggles with trying to help them both he also begins a relationship with Avery.

When someone from Avery's past comes back to haunt her will Daz be able to keep her safe or will his own past cause everyone around him to get hurt?

This was a great book about dealing with the aftermath of losing someone and the extent to which we go to protect the ones we love.

I loved Avery with her feisty attitude and her baking!! I loved that she had goals for herself and I was so mad when I discovered what happened to her in the past. I loved that she truly held out for as long as possible with Daz but then when they finally got together it was so hot!!

Daz was awesome and I loved that he was so tough yet had such a huge heart when it came to those he loved. I felt so bad with what he was going through with Kate and Owen. Yet he was able to hold onto Avery and she gave him the strength that he needed to get through it all.

The two of them provided each other with so much support and helped each other through the difficult times. I wasn't surprised with Daz's actions at the end of the book but I was so mad that Aaron got away with so much! I was shocked at Stone's actions but at the same time so grateful!

I loved what the club girls did for Kate and Owen! One thing I love about the MC club's is that they truly are a family and I think we need more of that in our general life!

I can't wait for the next book!!

Daz is known as a lot of things; manwhore, ex-con, and/or all around ahole. That doesn't change the fact that his brothers in the Savage Disciples MC know there's more to him than meets the eye. Avery is a stripper, trying to get off stage doing more management work, and has one rule, she doesn't sleep with her bosses. However, that line becomes blurry when Daz takes over the club she works at, especially since he never stops trying to get her into his bed. It doesn't take too long before she realizes that there's more to this man than the cocky exterior shows, and she can't deny her attraction any longer. Combust was an exciting, fast paced story that I devoured in one sitting. I really LOVED Daz, because even though Avery wasn't giving him the time of day, he didn't go out and screw everything with boobs while chasing her. And Avery, she was an independent bad a** woman who had some dirty things done to her in the past, which is how she landed as a stripper for so long. Together that TNT spark that they were shooting around, COMBUSTED into panty destroying FIERY FLAMES of sexy times that scorched the sheets. And while the two main characters were off the charts awesome, the colorful cast of secondaries added to the perfectly placed humor that kept me laughing throughout. There were a few huge twists out of left field that simultaneously had my eyes leaking, while the loud f-bombs rained down to round this epic story out. I'm highly addicted to Drew Elyse's talented writing style, so I will be waiting impatiently, like a kid waiting for Santa, for her next exciting book to come out about these yummy Savage Disciples! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Amazing

This book was such an emotional read. My little old heart was in tatters. I've loved Daz right throughout this series, he is full of life and his attitude towards relationships is what you'd expect from the playboy biker. Daz was everything I've come to love about him and so much more. I love love loved his sweeter side with the kids and his playful side with Avery and I even loved his drunken self 😂😂 all that aside he was a fiercely loyal brother to his club brothers and to his blood brother. He had their backs and it was beautiful to read. He was also a class A idiot and Stone suffers the consequences, but again that's all about the loyalty. Avery was beautiful and talented beyond words, I felt annoyed on her behalf when she meets the old lady's ☹☹ but she holds her own and of course has Doc in her corner. Loved the introduction of Owen and Kate and hope that there is a story for Kate I need to know that she is okay...yea I know they are fictional characters but that doesn't stop my heart from hurting for her 😓

This book made me laugh and cry in equal measures. I gained so much more respect for Stone and loved seeing the bond the brothers of the Savage Disciples MC have. Fantastic story and engaging writing as expected.

Combust (Savage Disciples MC #5) by Drew Elyse Review ♡
5✨
2🌶

I really enjoyed this book!! It is very lighthearted and a fun read. I loved how it had such a good storyline. Daz and Avery were so perfect for each other and I just loved them together! I love an mc romance but sometimes you just crave a story that is on the shorter side but still amazing and this was definitely that!!

They were so cute and I loved how we got a glimpse into their future together aka having a family and getting married. I also loved how he was protective of her but such an alpha male when with others. I loved how feisty she was but also such a kind and sweet person. I also loved the chemistry they had and the sexual tension. I loved how she grew stronger in herself and grew as a person while healing from what happened to her. I loved how all the Disciples were so protective of her. I just love the Disciples family!! They are all so protective and sweet and I can’t wait to read the rest of the boys’ stories!

This is the fifth book in the Savage Disciple’s series and I can’t wait to read the rest!! Everyone check out the Savage Disciples MC series if you like anything MC or tattooed alpha males. Also, check out the author Drew Elyse as I have read many of her books now and they are just so good!!

Combust: Savage Disciples MC #5 by Drew Elyse .Daz is the resident manwhore of the club. He is the manager of the strip club the MC recently purchased and a place Daz has spent plenty of his time. There is one dancer in particular that has caught his attention. Avery didn’t want to be a stripper but it pay the bills and she is good at it. Now she doesn’t have to dance as much since she is working with the schedule for the dancers as well as their routines. She knows that Daz has a thing for her but he is her boss and she doesn’t want to get involved with him. When she is asked to dance at his birthday party things change for them. I enjoyed this story. Daz has been in all the previous books I have read and he finally gets a book of his own. This was a good read and I finished the book in no time. I loved Daz and Avery. I was also treated with catching up with the other members of the group. The story was good and was interesting from the beginning to the end. The story had me going through several different emotions. I read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I give it 4.5 stars

I absolutely love this series and this book is my favourite so far. I have loved Daz throughout the other books in the series so was super happy to be finally having his book and that the girl that finally stole his heart would have to be one strong, feisty and sexy woman who would keep him on his toes.

Avery has worked at the strip club owned by the Savage Disciples MC, so technically Daz is her boss so was off limits, but no-one told him that in his ongoing pursuit of her. He had to taste how sweet she tasted and we could all see that her denial was pointless, just racked up the sizzling sexual tension and insane sparking chemistry between them.

This book in the series broke my heart with Daz's loss, the emotions were raw and real, but not only did this book make me cry it made me laugh a lot too. The banter between Daz and Avery, and Daz and the brothers was hilarious and entertaining to watch.

It felt like catching up with old friends seeing the brothers and their woman popping up throughout. Roll on Stones story, I cannot wait for this one after what he did for Daz.

Sigh...Daz and Avery. So good together.

I read this whole series backwards LOL I hate doing that but this book was one I read because I had already read Marked and fallen in love with the two characters which led me to reading this book. I can say I enjoyed this one a lot more than I did Marked. The two of them had a connection that I loved seeing. Avery had as many commitment issues as Daz did and to see the two of them come together in this book was amazing.

I LOOOOOVED sausage day at the strip club LOL made me love Daz even more that it was his idea...Normally a stripper isn't my idea of a lead character with class but somehow Drew managed to nail it. Avery wasn't overly flirty with other men and she didn't act like a club whore. Nope she was a classy lady who took her clothes off for money trying to get her dream back.

As for the useless dillhole who tried so hard to ruin both their lives he got what he deserved even if it did mean a good man had to go to prison. (I hated that for Stone) Avery and Daz seemed to fall in love seamlessly and without much fanfare.

So for me this book was a EPE or five star read...

Ever since i found my first book by Drew Elyse, i have devoured them as soon as i could. When i saw that we would be getting Daz's book, i could not wait. Let me just say, Ms. Elyse did not disappoint. I absolutely love how she writes MC romances. I feel as if i right there in the story with the characters.
This book has the perfect mix of humor and sex, and everything else that you love about a MC novel, but then had moments that absolutely tore at your heart.
Daz for the man-whore that he is, exceeded my expectations as a character and proved that there was more then meets the eye when it came to his man-whore ways.
Avery, she is the type of woman who preserved regardless of what life through at her, and in the end i think that is way her and Daz make a great couple.
I will say this book is not all rainbows and butterflies, your heart will hurt while reading it but it is all worth it in the end.
5 stars for another great installment to the Savage Disciples and i cannot wait for the next one!

Daz has always been the man whore of the club, always teasing his MC brothers as they find their Ol’ Ladies. When Avery, AKA Cherry Pie, one of the dancers at the club owned strip bar resists his flirting ways, it makes him all the more determined to get a taste of her. Will one taste be enough for him though, or will Avery be the one to get Daz to join the “ball and chain gang”?

OMG this book had me laughing, crying, and turning page after page until I had devoured it. Daz has always been quite the character, so to see this woman get under his skin was amusing and sweet to see. There are a couple of big things that happen in this book that really get the emotions going and ultimately end up showing us just what the word brotherhood means to the Savage Disciples.

A great read, this series is fast becoming one of my favourites and I can’t wait for the next one. 5 well-earned stars for Combust.

This series continues to wring me out! Daz and his brother had a very hard life. When his brother Joel moved away with his girlfriend Katie, Daz moved in with his neighbor Doc who was a member of the Savage Disciples MC. When Daz was old enough he prospected for and became a member of the MC also.

Avery has also had a hard life. She has been stripping and saving money since she was legal. Wanting to open a bakery after learning from her granny before she passed away when Avery was thirteen. She is a manager and stripper at The Candy Shop which has been bought by the Savage Disciples MC.

Daz wants Avery, but she knows that would be the worst thing since he is her boss. This story is funny, filled with hot, steamy sex and filled with the true definition of love and family.

I smiled, laughed and cried more in this book than any other I have read. I cannot wait for the next book and I highly recommend this one!

"This series continues to wring me out!
