I really hate to give such a low rating, because I realize that it's no small thing to write a book. And I admire those who take it on. But this book was just frustrating. I bought it on the bargain shelf at Barnes and Noble. I took a chance. But honestly, I couldn't figure out one character to root for, to relate to or even to like. The premise was interesting but nothing was ever really dealt with, or solved. I liked the grandfather best of all but even he was difficult to get close to. A dysfunctional family perpetuating the cycles. Sad really. And not a single bit of genuine resolution.
Grandparents sell their home and hit the road in an RV with their granddaughter to protect her from hr troubled father. How long can they avoid their son-in-law who killed their daughter in a car accident when he was high on drugs. What is a home? That's explored too. It was a decent read although, I hope, far-fetched.
It was just… okay? I dunno, I didn’t relate to the characters as well as I thought I would, and I felt like there were so many rushed loose ends. Not my favorite.
i got this book for 50 cents. so it took me a while to read it. I am glad i did. It was a sweet story about what it would be like to live on the road. That is not something that i could do i need a real house.
