This was a really fun read. A romance between Evan and Molly has been simmering for some time. Evan is a gorgeous rockstar and a genuinely nice person. Six months ago she had given him her virginity which he treasures but even though it his feelings for her are obvious she refuses to get into a relationship with him because of all the groupies around him.

Enter Jean-Luc who makes her an offer she can't refuse, he is a life coach and offers to help her for free. Molly has been offered a job in Paris and needs to brush up on her French. Jean-Luc recommends Evan (without knowing that Molly and Evan have already met) to tutor her.

I think that this story is really about growing and learning to trust, gaining confidence in yourself and not being afraid to follow your heart. Molly had formed an impression of Evan at the outset which she felt was reinforced when she saw him with the groupies and it was really hard for her to realise that Evan was nothing like the person she had imagined. Once she started to trust and believe in him she was able to accept that she was deserving of all the love he had for her.

I really recommend this book, the author is new to me but I would love to read more from her.

Romantic; sexy; addictive!!!

Prince Charmings can be found in the most unlikely of places, no matter what accent they have. The importance beneath the charm, beneath the charisma, beneath the smoking-hot sex, is that they love you just the way you are.

I loved the book. It was very addictive. I got lucky that my kids are on a school trip and read in one sitting, in one big gulp!!!
Ms. Howard’s writing style is on-point. She has created a powerful plot; she has cohesively tied all sub-plots and without any typo mistakes that I can remember and she has given a thrilling, fast-paced book to her readers.
This book is hot! The couple's chemistry is combustible and their love is raw, right open in the air. Even though there was a lot of sex within the book, the romance was always the most important part of the book and all the scenes were tastefully described and created.
Have I mention this is panty-wetter, cold-shower hot!
I love the characters. Molly is fun! Nell is the kind of best-friend you want to have. And Evan... I guess he deserves his own bullet.
Evan is the perfect hero! He is hot, gorgeous, has an accent, is amazing and creative in bed and the perfect mixture of sensible and caveman. Yeah, fanning myself right now!
This was my first read from Ms. Howard, but now I will stalk her to find all the goodies that is out there.
Oh, when I thought that everything was very predictable, even though I didn't care, because the book was that good... we get a fun, cute, twist. In fact, we sort of got two!!

Review 2

Yeah, I’m very picky with book covers. They are the beginning and the end of my reading journey. I buy so many books by its cover only that they must speak to me somehow. Yeah, I’m shallow a lot and drool on some male chest, but also I like to “read”the story on a book cover. Then after I finish a book, I like to look at it again and see what else I can find there. This one, I wouldn’t buy it. In fact, when I’ve chosen to tour this book,I did pick only looking at the cover, but it was a different one. It was a drawing of a couple, that for me was interesting. This one, too much pink, I would guess very sweet romance, too much TLC, which doesn’t usually work for me. Then it feels a bit ethereal, so it gives me paranormal vibes, which I love, but is not this book. The glitter on the title it doesn’t give me Molly and Evan at all. I now this was a take on a fairytale, but really this is erotic, it should have a HOT, STEAMY cover.

quote
What I hope you got out of this is that you have the power to decide your own destiny. Love Can be a shield and get us through the harshest of times. It is indeed a strength that should be clutched on tho as tight as one can.

You MAY buy this book because you like erotic romance; you SHOULD buy this book because you like your fairy-tale with spice; you MUST read this book to meet a naughty prince charming!!!

This book was a little hit-or-miss for me. There were parts I really liked, and others that just fell a little flat. Overall, it was a good book. For story and characterization, maybe a 2.5, but for the steamy scenes - 5 all the way. This author definitely knows how to write the hot stuff.

They fell in love but she struggled with the groupies he was surrounded with. She ends it and finishes school. She hires a life coach and begins to think he is the only one for her. He still loves her and he wants her back again. Can they get back together? Will it work this time? See if it can

Molly's tale of self-exploration as she learned to overcome her fantasies to embrace an even better reality was absolutely heart-warming. Evan was a fantastic combination of sweet and smoking hot, and the fairytale aspect of this made for a light-hearted, enjoyable read.

Quick, fun, accent filled read as Molly figure a few things out...

I will not tell this outcome but it was so worth the short time it took to read it. I enjoyed it all the way to the end. I was not sure which one was the true target and was happy to find my guess or wish was the right one. Molly and Evan had much to get over and around in this short. Watching her become more confident with the help of her life coach was fun. One entertaining read.

The star of this novel is a young woman just finding herself. She has unrealistic dreams of who would be the perfect man for her, and it isn't the guy downstairs who gets her all hot and bothered and with whom she has a one night stand. With the help of a counselor, Molly grows as person and discovers that sometimes the man of your dreams is much more than you ever dreamed of. This is a light-hearted contemporary that will appeal to readers who like hot guys who never give up and heroines on the road to discovery.

3.5 stars rounded up.

When Molly and Evan have a drunken night and she gives her v-card to him, she's freaked out the next day when it becomes apparent that his groupies will not leave him alone, so she shuts the door on anything between them other than casual neighborly friendship. Now months later, she's broken up with her boring boyfriend, and Evan sees his chance at perhaps getting her to give into their obvious attraction. But Molly seems to have an erroneous idea about what kind of man he is, so it won't be easy to get her to give in.

I mostly enjoyed Flip Beat and really liked Evan. And their chemistry was smokin' hot. This author knows her way around a steamy scene. The rest of the story fell a bit flat for me, though. I wanted more relationship development and I was really missing Evan's POV. It was all through Molly's POV in third person, which was to its detriment. And then there's Molly. She's the main reason I can't give this a resounding 4 stars. I'm leaving the official rating at 4 stars but in reality it's closer to 3/3.5, because Molly irritated me. She skewed really young to me and bored me to tears. I do like that her life coach helped her grow a little, but she didn't grow enough for my tastes. And what there was of her was just a bit immature and wishy-washy. Evan deserved a lot better, frankly. But, because I liked Evan a lot, and their chemistry is super sexy, I'll leave it at 3.5 stars rounded up.

“Chicks Dig the Accent” is a witty, sexy, and romantic novella. It’s the kind of book that has you grinning from ear to ear. You can’t help yourself from laughing out loud, at least I couldn’t! It’s a quick read, and once I started it I couldn’t put it down because I fell in love with the story and its characters.

Molly is a great female lead. She is the type of woman we all could relate to. She’s smart, funny, lovable and has a good head on her shoulders. Many times in romance novels the obstacle that keeps our heroine from recognizing her true Prince Charming makes me roll my eyes and want to smack her in the head. But in Molly’s case I think her reservations about whether or not to trust her instincts about Evan were realistic due to his being in a rock band, and I think most women would feel the same way.

Now let’s talk about Evan…. this guy is just delicious, and the perfect book boyfriend. He’s hot, attentive, patient, caring, romantic, sexy, and GOOD IN BED!!! He has some alpha tendencies, specifically in the bedroom — which leads to some scorching, panty melting love scenes. They were hot. VERY HOT. (I’d say “very hot” in French, but I’d probably say it wrong. LOL)

I could not recommend this book enough. Roxanne D. Howard is a very talented writer, and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future. :)

A quick and lovely read, full of passion and hot moments! Molly is trying to find the right man to start a relationship, taking into account that she will leave for Paris. She is trying to decide between her crush for professor Nicholas Sullivan and her friend and neighbor Evan Castle. While Nicholas represents her ideal candidate – responsible, with serious intentions, Evan is a rock star, with girls chasing him and probably he plays with all of them. Even if he was her first, she doesn’t trust that his feelings are based on good intentions.

Anyhow, she intends to change her life and she starts with her looks, since confidence comes from within J The book is a fast read, with action that evolves in a steady pace, no rushed ending. The characters are well developed. Molly and Evan know exactly want they want, they just have to make it work somehow. I loved the few complications and also the fact that, even if the girls were a little crazy (Nell especially), none of them were the bitchy type. Evan is a nice guy as well, he gives her all the space and time she needs to decide what is best for her.

All in all, it is a nice book, with some vivid scenes and a clean writing. Loved it, recommend it!

What a nice and quick book! I have to admit that I’m starting to like Novellas even more now because I can sit and read it right before bed and not be up long and I’m not stuck angry after a cliffhanger! This one is full of hotness too, so really just the perfect little romance book for me!

I loved it and highly recommend it! Great writing Roxanne!

If a man with an accent get you going. Then you will want to read this one. We have accents for days. More, more, more. Quick and entertaining.

Molly had a plan. That plan involved marrying her a man with an accent. She knew this. She now has a choice of men to choose from. Her professor or her neighbor, hot rocker.

I will not tell this outcome but it was so worth the short time it took to read it. I enjoyed it all the way to the end. I was not sure which one was the true target and was happy go find my guess or wish was the right one.

I'm sensing a slight Cinderella theme with some very steamy sex scenes. Best of both worlds!

Roxanne gave us one hilariously sexy, slightly fairytale, romance! I absolutely love it!

Molly and Ethan are such great characters. I love rock stars and fairytale and to get them both in one story is so ingenious and awesome!

I 100% recommend Chick's dig the accent if you love a story with lots of steam to it!

Every read a debut author and thought, the second book won’t be as good? *raises hand* All the time. I know, I have no shame. So I read Ms. Howard’s first book, Sonnet Coupled and was completely blown away by it. So I signed up to read her second book, Flip the Beat and this is no sophomore slump. Granted this book is way hotter than her first, this one had a depth to it that I wasn’t expecting. Plus, it is much shorter, so I really didn’t know what to think.

Let me assure you, that while shorter, Ms. Howard reveals the plot very slowly. Yes, slowly. Sure Molly and Evan are hot and heavy in the book but when you peel an onion, you get a whole lot of layers. And this story has more layers than an onion. Slowly, bits and pieces of Evan are revealed and he is NOT what he seems. Molly’s character is much more straightforward but I will have to say, I was disappointed in not having some closure on her stepmother. I know, I’m weird but this being a fairytale, I wanted it. Even if it was just a slap in the face or a sentence or two in the epilogue.

This story is based on Cinderella but with a great twist. In fact, since Ms. Howard told the story with some many layers, I didn’t figure anything out at all. I was totally surprised with how everything unfolded. Ms. Howard is one of those rare authors that doesn’t show her hand in her writing until its necessary. I love that about her. Her secondary characters are top notch, too. Nell and Jorge were hilarious, as was her life coach. *wink*

I absolutely adored Molly and Evan. It is a very well balanced book with plenty of hot smexy times, great character growth and a very plausible plot that is also realistic. Trust me, the blurb doesn’t even tell you 1/4 of the story. Again, layers people. Layers…

Thanks to the publisher for a copy to read and give my honest opinion.

This was one of those quirky romances that just grabs your heart. Flip the beat is a no holds barred toward a forever HEA, with a sexy rocker God with more than meets the eye goodness. Instead of portraying the guy as a total player, Evan Castle has sustenance as she gives him her virginity.

What did I like? Evan was an absolute hottie with all the bells and whistles. Molly gives him a precious gift and it overwhelms him which was lovely. The chemistry was super nova, and the storyline was fun.

Would I buy this book? Yes, loved it. Recommend it to any romance lovers.

Words for the author.... this was my first read from this author and I would definitely read more by her. Lovely story, aptly kept my attention all through my flights to Texas.

I absolutely adored this book!

Molly Ivers is ready to break out into the world. She's about to graduate and move to Paris to start her dream job. What could go wrong?

Life. Life goes wrong in the most ironic and delicious of ways. See she's always had a crush on this professor...but he never noticed her. And she secretly had a rendezvous with the guy who lives in her building...but he's a player.
And guess what...yep...you guessed it. Things are about to change and she'll have a decision to make.

This book is a quick and fun read full of laughs and super steamy goodness.

If you're in the mood for a feel good story that'll leave you with a smile, and maybe in the mood for some sexy time, pick this one up!

I REALLY ENJOYED READING FLIP THE BEAT. IT IS A MODERN DAY CINDERELLA WITH A TWIST. I LOVED THE ROCK STAR ASPECT OF THE STORY. I LOVED HOW EVAN AND MOLLY MEET. THE CHEMISTRY IS VERY HOT BETWEEN THEM BUT MOLLY IS LOOKING FOR MORE THAN A WOMANIZER THAT HAS GROUPIES. SHE IS LOOKING FOR HER PRINCE CHARMING. IT IS QUITE A SURPRISE WHEN THE REAL EVAN IS REVEALED TO MOLLY.

IT IS A VERY SWEET AND ROMANTIC LOVE STORY. I LOVE THE CONNECTION MOLLY AND EVAN HAVE. THEY HAVE A LOT IN COMMON. BUT MOLLY DOES NOT KNOW THE TRUE EVAN AND SHE HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR PRINCE CHARMING IN ALL THE WRONG PLACE. HE HAS BEEN RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER THIS WHOLE TIME.

FLIP THE BEAT IS A WELL WRITTEN ROMANTIC LOVE STORY THAT YOU WANTING MORE. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO READING MORE BOOK BY ROXANNE D. HOWARD. MUST READ FOR EVERYONE.

Flip the beat. This book was interesting to me. It starts out with Molly having issues about men in her life. She is determined she knows what man she needs to make her happy. She has a fantasy guy in her head that she is trying to find. She just broke up with her boyfriend. Her professor is one of the men but she finds out he has a girlfriend. Her friend Evan who she does have sex with but he is a musician and has groupies and she doesn't want to be around them. That's not the relationship she wants. But as you read the story twists and you will be surprised who stills her heart. *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

I'm still swooning after finishing this book! Evan is the perfect hottie - a rocker, student, fully fluent in French, and sinfully handsome to boot! Molly thought she saw something special in him, but she couldn't deal with his constant band of groupies. On the other hand, there's Professor Nicholas, also perfection in a stable, well educated, perfect way. So who does Molly end up with? Well, based on the smoking hot scenes in this book, I was following the bread crumbs all the way to the final conclusion! I loved this sweet, super steamy, and hilarious romance! And I'd love to have a bestie like Nell! Great sexy, lighthearted read!

Molly has just finished college and is preparing to start the job she has always wanted in Paris. The only thing left on her to do list is find her perfect match in a relationship. She is conflicted between Nicholas, who is her professor, and seems to check all her boxes and Evan her rockstar neighbor whose lifestyle may not be suitable for a relationship. Will she make the safe choice or will she be willing to take a risk?

Molly has her life set; she's about to graduate and has a dream job lined up in Paris. Sure, Evan, the guy who lives downstairs, rocked her world six months ago, but that's in the past - she thinks. Evan has other plans.
This is a fun and quick read. Molly and Evan are a nice couple. Evan has hidden depths, and I was glad to see Molly give him a chance. I didn't quite understand the parts about her life coach; to me, Molly was pretty together, and that part seemed superficial. But I loved her roommate and the dance instructor. They deserve their own book.

A great story of Molly figuring out who she is and what she wants. Evan, the hot singer that lives downstairs sure looks like he wants a lot more from her than he lets on, yet she seems hung up on on the fact that he has groupies constantly around him and isn't what her ideal man would be. Of course what does she know?
Loved that Evan didn't give up and scorched the pages of taking care of ALL her needs. Girl was a little slow but happy she saw the light. Great chemistry.

Molly is graduating from college and moving to Paris to start at the job of her dreams. Before she leaves she wants to find a sexy foreign man with an accent. Evan is Molly's sexy rock star neighbor who Molly gave her virginity to but they didn't work out. I really loved that Molly and Evan were friends and remained friends through out her journey to find that sexy foreign man. Will Molly find the foreign man with an accent that she's looking for or will she realize he's been beside her all along? This is a hot sexy read that gets hotter as you read the story. A well written, funny novella with great characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
