With the smoking ruins of Portland behind them, our survivors find that they have a new enemy to contend with... other survivors. With the dead hounding them at every step and humanity struggling to hold onto its civility, the survivors face their greatest challenge yet. At the end of this battle, there will be No More Heroes.
Tejada and Katie came up with some brilliant plans.. I wonder how close they are to each other.. I thought the book blurb said they split up but well yeah they did kinda.. Im afraid no one is gonna make it out alive.. so many injuries and no medicine yikes!
Another bloody and brutal chapter of the zombie saga out of Portland. Really not sure how many characters we're gonna have left by the end of this thing. We continue to follow Lou and his group as they head for the west coast but of course they get waylaid by unexpected other people with plans of their own. And we get to follow Rudy and Amanda as they travel with what's left of Sargent Trejeda's army unit which had dwindled to 12 when the book started. They also encounter unexpected other people with plans of their own. Things escalate in major and terrifying ways for both groups. Jacy Morris is a Native American indie author and I really love this zombie series. It's dark and scary. It pulls no punches and leaves it all out on the field. Don't get attached to anyone!
Wow, our characters numbers are dwindling... We meet some new enemies (both our old characters and new soldiers) in this one. A compound in the woods and a corporate company gone with a despotic leader. There was a lot of zombie fighting. The characters (especially Rudy, Andy and Katie) are changing. One thing about Jacy Morris is he's going to leave you with a cliffhanger! Were there grammatical and spelling errors? Sure. Was Clara's name once written as "Clair" and I had to regroup myself for a moment wondering who that was? Also yes. But, easy enough to overlook.
Just, WOW! What a ride. I devoted these first three books back,to back, and back. Couldn't put them down till I was through them. A great cast of characters that seem so real I found myself pulling for them to survive. I would near swear I knew some of the soldiers attempting to make it through the city alive. Mr.Morris writes his characters like few others are capable. Can't wait for book 4! Keep up the excellent work.
I'm really enjoying this series. The plots are well thought out and realistic, the characters are well developed even the ones who get offed, and the story line moves along at a good clip to keep you interested. Don't get too attached to any characters because there is no guarantee they will be around as long as you might think! Still see in spots in each book some frustrating editing errors that can be annoying but not enough to put the books down. Looking forward to the next book!
Fairly typical zombie type story but still worth getting. There are errors in punctuation and spelling, missed or added words and occasions where the wrong name is used, but not too many and they didn’t detract that much from the story. Can’t wait for the next book in the series to find out how the characters continue their journeys.......
Book 3 was amazing, once again there were many grammatical errors, but the intensity in the book was outstanding. I could not put this book down, it had me on the edge of my seat. The horror and gore that Morris puts his characters through was beyond anything I have read in other books, I have to give it to Morris, he did an amazing job.
As with the previous book, I'm torn between loving and hating this book and this series. I did enjoy this one more, finding it to be a solid 4 star rating. Honestly, about half way through, I almost stopped reading it... but, there's the great parts and I ended up liking the end way better than the middle. Looking forward to what happens next!
Fantastic. Well written, and told in an amazing way that has you caring for the characters far more than you normally would. This guy can write. I'm looking forward to reading his other books.
I generally like it, has its ups and down plus it doesn't hold back on what might happen in a real zombie apocalypse. I listen to the audio books so there are a decent amount of boring parts but I still wanna finish listening to the series.
Another great instalment of this series.... a cliffhanger.. this is the only time I'm grateful for not catching this author earlier as the cliffhanger is cleared up pretty quickly in the next book!! x
