She’s desperate to remember…and he’s desperate to forget.
The Renaldis, Book 3
These are the things Amber Renaldi knows for sure:
She’s in the hospital.
Her modeling career may be over.
And her handsome husband will treat her like a queen, through her recovery and beyond. But there’s a shadow lurking just beyond what she remembers before the crash.
Vincenzo Renaldi knows other things.
He was the one who chased her away, and into the path of the car.
That even before the accident, the magic of their whirlwind romance was dissipating.
And that if Amber ever remembers everything, he could lose her again—this time forever.
USA Today bestselling author Karen Erickson lives in central California with her family. Being a romance writer and bringing her characters to life is her greatest dream come true.
She also writes as NYT & USA Today bestselling author Monica Murphy.
Long story short: Author writes amazing hero and then decides, oh fuck, can't have that and then sends us a message that for a woman/couple to be truly happy woman must give up her career.
I love me amnesia stories but this one just didn't hit the right spots for me.
This could be because of my general dislike when it comes to people who are fame hungry and the heroine in here, when we meet her, is just like that.
She does change, true, and puts her priorities straight eventually, but she was still too much of a doormat when it comes to her idiotic mother and her wino father.
I did love the hero. Because come on, an Italian who is obsessively in love with his wife? How could I not?
But if these two had a heart-to-heart right at the beginning, this whole book wouldn't have happened.
I’ve enjoyed this series as well as the Worth series it was spun off from and I’m sad to see it winding down, however with Falling For Her Husband it goes out on a high note. We’ve known that Vincenzo (Vince) Renaldi was married and that his wife Amber was a model and they spent a lot of time apart, so it really came as no surprise to me that Vince being the Italian man he is had enough and was ready and willing to make changes to spend more time with his wife. Unfortunately Amber is also having doubts and their reunion does not go smoothly, in fact it is quite tragic but that tragedy leads to so much more. What’s not to love about this book? A hot Italian man willing to do whatever it takes to keep his wife in his arms, a confused woman in love with her husband but sensing there is something not quite right, a scheming business associate, a supportive and loving family on one side, a dysfunctional family on the other, and secrets that can rip them apart make this book one hell of a rollercoaster ride. Vince Renaldi impressed me to no end in this book and while he did make a couple of errors in judgment, I loved seeing him take responsibility and not do all the macho posturing most men do. The thing about a life changing accident is that it really makes you see everything in a new light and Vince understood immediately what was important to him and knew he’d do anything to make it happen. I love his fierce determination, his absolute love for Amber, and even his vulnerability and fear of what might happen. He isn’t a perfect man but you can’t fault him for wanting a perfect and normal life with the woman he cherishes so deeply. I really felt for Amber because on top of an accident that totally changed her life she can’t remember everything. She’s angry and confused and while she knows she loves her husband so much she feels something is wrong. She’s getting pressure from so many people and she doesn’t know who she can trust. Honestly, I was really worried for her mental health with everything she went through and was glad that Vince was such a pillar of strength for her not to mention her champion. This is one of those romance books that I love because it’s not typical, this is a couple who are married, have had some trouble, but are now figuring out how to make their life together work. It wasn’t easy, they have issues that are compounded by memory loss and secrets but it was satisfying to watch them work through things and come out stronger. Karen Erickson has once again given her readers a couple they can’t help but love, an entertaining story, some steamy intimate moments, and a fine wrap up of an intriguing series. Well done!
Married couple Vince and Amber have definitely hit a rocky patch and in an attempt to make things right VInce decides to make a decision to move and be with Amber his very successful supermodel wife. He uproots and flies across to the US to be with her. Then the unthinkable happens. They argue, things get ugly and there is a terrible accident.
Can the marriage that is well and truly on the rocks be salvaged, especially when secret are kept?
I really loved this sweet short read by Karen (the first of her books written under Karen Erickson that I have read) and although it is part of a series it also works well as a standalone too. Amber is a headstrong character and actually the brief bits of her we see at the beginning of the book, I really didn't like her! However all isn't lost and as her story unfolds you definitely warm to her!
Vince is just wow and he woos hard and tries to win his wife back even harder! He made me swoon several times and his determination to get what is his made me really feel warm and gooey inside.
The road Amber and Vince follow isn't smooth and it takes a lot of growing on Amber's part and one pretty big elephant in the room to be unearthed before the couple have any chance of moving on!
The side characters are pretty interesting too - Amber's family, her agent and of course the Italian side of the family too!
All in all this has been a really heartwarming afternoon read and I am definitely looking to download and read the rest of the Renaldi families stories ad i hope to see a glimpse of how Vince and Amber meet!
Ive given this five sara just because of the warm and fuzzies Vince has given me!
Falling for Her Husband (the Renaldis #3) by Karen Erickson C, inferno, no kink, contemp, 172 pages
Vince, a rich Italian, and Amber, an up and coming super model, fell hard and fast for each other. But despite being married, their jobs are pulling them apart. When Vince decides it's time to make a change so they can spend more time together, he discovers Amber is leaning toward divorce. But an argument on a New York sidewalk leads to Amber being hit by a car and losing a few months of her memory...including any talk of divorce.
While predictable, this one kept me turning pages. I loved Vince's dedication to this marriage. When Amber can't remember what happened before her accident, Vince decides not to tell her that she had been thinking about divorce. He's commited to fixing their relationship and doesn't want to bring any negative feelings into Amber's recovery. I will say, while I understood his motivation for not telling her, I really got tired of all his inner turmoil about not being honest with her.
I didn't click with Amber's character like I would have liked to. There were things I felt she gave up too easily and things I thought she held on to too tightly. But when she was together with Vince, he seemed to balance her out a bit.
I would recommend this one to anyone who likes low conflict husband/wife romances.
Vince is one possessive man, "I wouldn't allow any other man to touch her, since she belongs to me." He says the sweetest things, "any time I have you naked in my bed, I'm happy, sweetheart." He took a step toward her, caressing her cheek before letting his hand drop. "Now go take your test. Let's get this over with." He also has no filter, and he loves to show his woman his wild side, "you make us sound like a bunch of old folks going to the retirement home." He reached out and slipped his hand beneath the sheet, giving her toe a tug and making her yelp. "Give me a break, wife. If I want to eff you, I'm certainly going to eff you." I loved this book, I enjoyed reading it. I fell in love with Vince.
Falling for Her Husband (The Renaldis #3) by Karen Erickson: When Amber Hall met Vincenzo Renaldi, it was love at first sight. Their passion for each other was hotter than a raging inferno and as a result, they got married. They were blissfully happy for a very short time because almost immediately, Amber’s modeling career took off, and her time was not her own.
Sorry to say that this wasn't up to KE's usual terrific writing. The beginning was fairly good, but toward the end, I just didn't like it. It's almost like one writer started it and another finished it. I didn't connect with Amber or Vince as much as all the other characters in the Renaldi/Worth series. This one just didn't do it, but I am looking forward to more of KE's books.
i'm very disappointed about the last book of serious - the classic love story she's a model his rich and they get married. it's nothing special, new or interesting about this book. I liked the other books from the serious but not this one.
Loved this story. Although their marriage was rocky to start, they went through very bad times early they stuck their marriage out, working very hard at solidifying their relationship and love for each other. Story with real life problems but romantic.
