When Emily Bronsons’ daddy dies, this daddy’s girl and darling of the social set finds herself broke and alone, except for a mother who’s always been neglectful at best. She’s had to release the household staff and is down to selling her designer rags to keep her head above water. She blames one man for all her troubles. The man who’d taken over her family’s business. The business that was supposed to be her inheritance. Jason Storm is a businessman through and through. Having grown up lower middle-class, he’s always had a hunger for more. He certainly had no time for love and all its trappings and he definitely didn’t have time for the pain in the ass social ditz, who kept coming to his office with wild accusations of what she thinks he did to bring about her old man’s demise. But as time goes by he gains a new respect for the headstrong girl, who refuses to back down, even in the face of his renowned anger. Can these two put their differences aside and come together, or is their mutual antagonism destined to keep them apart?
This book was really good. There were a few editing errors, but not as bad as some of Ms. Silver's other books. I really like how the characters are fleshed out. I especially love the character of the best friend, Simone. I certainly hope she gets her own book...and not a quickie novella, but a good story like this one.
"Loving the Enemy" is the story of Emily and Jason. This slow burn sweet romance has the plot of a competitor rescuing his late business rival's gorgeous daughter from downfall by hiring her, and ultimately falling for her in the process. Low angst, low drama, loads of witty banter and instant attraction. The hero is kind and caring, the heroine spunky, sex is mildly freaky and takes place at 50% mark, and the epilogue is sweet. Enjoyed it. Safe 3/5
Great read. Doesn't get steamy till over half way through, but it's definitely worth a read. If you don't like reading rough, punishing sex, then this story isn't for you. There was a few days right after they kissed and made out that he was out of town, and didn't explain things to her, but I don't count that as not together.

I have to say I was surprised while reading this because intercourse didn't happen till 70% into the book. There was an actual story and very little sex which seems kinda rare lately especially for a JS book. Jason Storm is 30 years old and he's worked his ass off to become the successful businessman he is today. Emily is an only child, her father was a rich, successful businessman. Her father recently killed himself and she's been told he was in serious debt and that there's no money left. She can't understand how this could've happened and she blames Jason because he bought her father's company. Jason is intrigued by Emily even though she comes to his office to scream at him everyday since her father's suicide. This was the best book I've read from JS in a long time. I loved both characters and really enjoyed the story.
Emily Bronson cannot believe that her father did the bad deeds he is accused of only to kill himself and leave her and her mother destitute. That is why she shows up at Jason Storm's business every day accusing him of lying, until one day she finds out the truth. Deciding she needs to make a new life for herself she starts on a new path, the only problem is while she is successful she has caught the eye of Jason.
Jason decides after several meetings with Emily that while she comes off as spoiled rotten online she is anything but. Jason decides to propose an alternate path for Emily but will she agree?
This was fun, I felt for Emily because she has the weight of the world on her shoulder. Her life had been a bit of a socialite before her world crashed down around her. Jason didn't want to like Emily, figured she was a ditzy socialite but her tenacious attitude has him second guessing staying away. Another great story by this author.
I am NOT a fan of insta-love stories in general with the exception of two phenomenal writers! Jordan Silver is one of the two!
As usual Jordan delivers a quick and more often times than not, dirty Indra-love story that will knock you on your hind parts! The drama, the feels, the sex.....ERMAGAWD! The sex scenes are so detailed and intricate you can actually feel the love between the couple! The couples usually don't identify that feeling with love yet. However the reader can certainly identify!
If you're looking for a quick and meaningful read, this story is for you! My genre of choice is dark but every now and again I come up for air and dive into awesomeness such as this story!
Well, that was unexpected. This was actually a super sweet & sexy story. Sometimes this author writes stuff so scandalous (I personally love it anyway, lol) & sometimes she knocks out a real gem. I was just ok w/ our h, but HE was fantastic & I want one of my own. Easy read. Recommend.
There was a little more actual story on offer with this book than what JS has been releasing lately. But to be honest, I don't expect much more out of her stories than steamy smut and kinky sex scenes, and on that front it definitely delivered. It just took a while to get there and since I never take the actual storyline serious, it meant this one dragged for me and just ended up feeling a little.. meh.
This one seems like a Jordan Silver story of old. It actually had a plot and not just a F*ckfest. Yes it was hot but it had a storyline also. They didn't fall into bed until about 70% in. It also had her typical OOT alpha. It was fun watching Jason squirm as he dealt with his feelings. Will go back and buy this one since I got it in KU.
MEH, THIS STORY COULD HAVE BEEN EPIC, BUT THE AUTHOR WASTED HALF THE STORY WITH BABBLING AND SKIRTING AROUND THE SEXUAL TENSION...AND THE CHARACTERS WERE ALREADY INTO EACH OTHER WITHOUT US EVEN KNOWING HOW THEY GOT THERE.
OUR HERO has bought over the heroine's father's company or something and her father had committed suicide so she's now a broke heiress in a way. For some reason, Emily plagues him like a plague and he can't help but wonder if she's okay, eating okay or surviving okay. When he finds out that she's selling her clothes to survive, he gives her a job as his PA or basically eye candy on his arms. Of course, he becomes all alpha male and possessive and shit..well while the tension was great...I still didn't feel a solid romance going on.
OUR HEROINE has lost everything, her entire ritzy lifestyle after the death of her father and is struggling to survive. She blames it all on the hero, until she finds out the truth of her father's crimes. After that, it is just pretty much about falling into the hero's arms. He didn't even feel like the enemy as the title suggests.
OVERALL....I wished this could have warranted something....but it felt like a novella instead if you cut out the unnecessary half beginning of the story.
I had kind of given up on Silver. I even wondered who was actually writing her books anymore. This romance has more of the charm that Brett's Little Headaches has. The hero is the reluctantly smitten guy who is simultaneously running towards the heroine and trying to get away. His inner dialogue as he fights against the inevitable is amusing, as is the dialogue between the heroine and himself. It was nice that the heroine was not just a prop and had opinions and a life of her own. I liked both main characters. I would have liked to see more between the her and heroine as he woos her...in his caveman way...but still very nicely done.
I really enjoy Jordan Silver books where the heroine isn't coerced into the relationship and the hero isn't overpowering. Emily finds herself in a tight spot after her father dies and the money he had has dried up. Jason doesn't have to rescue her, Emily rescues herself. To see how Emily grows and Jason's learns to appreciate her, read this novel.
I gave it 5 stars cause it's a great book.I loved how she brought the characters to life. She never disappoint .me with one of her books. I'm always able to laugh and cry sometimes throughout the story. Thanks Jordan for a great read and can't wait for the next book to come out.
Ms Silver never fails to make my heart explode. The characters in this book were awesome. I loved the secondary characters too. I hope one young lady gets her own book????? Hint Hint lol again I loved it and would recommend it to all lovers of Alpha Males and the women that love them.
Love this new one from Jordan!!! It's slightly different than her others (to me anyway) in that the h doesn't have as much angst as we normally see. We have the HOT SEXY alpha come in and save the day while falling in love with the innocent h. Love love love this new addition to the family.
Throwback style. Inner dialogue but not too wordy. Lots of steam but always with romance and love. Longer than more recent stuff so good character building. Ends as expected but that's why I keep coming back. This either is an auto but for me. I don't even read the blurbs anymore.
Loved this book the way he finds out she is the love of his life and try to let that information sinks in to him and the way she realizes she is in love with the man who now has her father company and after the scene with the Olive she can’t take her mind of Jason I loved when he is all cavemen and takes her to his apartment and how hot they are together loved it!
Love another Jordan Silver book!! Jason was all alpha and an overall perfect package. I liked how the heroine was strong and like able instead of spoiled and bratty. Jordan does a great job developing likeable leads in her books who have you rooting for their HEA. Scorching hot too! Thanks again
I liked how Emily had a fire to her and would use it, if need be. I also liked that Jason turned into a cave man when he knew he fell for Emily and would always protect her. I didn’t like how her dad suicide and her lack of her mother’s support left her to grow up and try to save her family from ruin. Overall good read!!!
This one definitely had more of that old Jordan Silver feel to it. There was a plot and they didn't just jump into bed from the very start. The H wasn't a complete douche-canoe to the h, but was typical JS OTT alpha (which I like). No cheating or OW drama.
This book was beyond my expectations!! The content, it had a wonderful story line. The romance was definitely hot as sin. I was really, really addicted to this book. I couldn't put it down from the moment I started reading it.
