Women in Science is a great introduction to the many ways women have contributed to different fields of science throughout human history, with a focus on the last century. Definitely recommended as an intro for kids looking to explore science history, especially through the eyes of women.

STEM leaders of the future, especially you girls, pay attention to this book. It's important.

The tone of this book is direct. Absent any of the sugarcoating or stark simplicity of most books in this section of my library. Wow!

Learning about the contents can give you a sense of the sweep of history being summarized for young readers:

1. Scientists of ancient times
2. Explorers of science
3. Heroes of healthcare
4. Engineers and inventors
5. Reach for the stars
6. Computer scientists
7. Natural scientists
8. Nobel Prize winners
9. Careers in science

Clearly, this beautifully written book deserves FIVE STARS. Yay scientists of all kinds, and an especially loud yay right now to... Women in Science.

Incredibly informative. A bit dry in places - and I feel like Level 3 readers are probably going to need to break it down into chunks. It packs a LOT of information into each page.

Fantastic non-fiction read for young readers.

This is a Level 3 book for those ready to read on their own. There is a lot of text on each page along with pictures that help break up the text.

This is a great book. I loved the focus on women in science. The book is broken into chapters by topic such as computer scientists and inventors. Within each chapter, various women are covered that fit within that field. The book is packed with interesting and educational facts told in an engaging way.

At the end of the book is a quiz to test reading comprehension. There is also a short section that describes some career options in different scientific fields as well as a glossary and index.

Overall, fantastic book for learning about women in scientific fields throughout history. I loved that there was a collection of well-known women as well as lesser known women who made big contributions to their fields.
