Well this story certainly took me by surprise in the best way! I honestly had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started reading this book and I will admit that I was somewhat nervous because this author has always managed to bring out a different side of me when I’m reading. “Crave” was so completely different from anything that I’ve read in a long time but you know what? I loved that. I loved that this author decided to take a unique and complex character and make it into a true one of a kind hero.
Moving to a new state and finishing up your Junior year in the middle of a new school year would be nerve wrecking for anyone and for Adaline , this is no different. Although meeting new people is not on the top of her list, a group of popular guys is about to take that option away form her and welcome her into their circle. But when Adaline meets Kason, everything she thought she wanted to have, suddenly seems inconsequential because Kason isn’t an ordinary guy. What happens when your craving becomes too much to handle?
Kason is a hard worker. Coming from the type of childhood he’s had, you really can’t expect anything less from him. Attending school full time and holding down a job is not an easy thing, but he knows that getting into a good college is his ticket to getting a better life. Seeing the new girl in town shouldn’t distract him from his set in stone goals but one look at Adaline and Kason knows that she’s going to be a craving that he will never be able to get rid of.
“She fights herself to hide it- to hide the fact that loving a guy like me isn’t easy. But I hear the pain in her breath. I see it in the red in her eyes. And for that I vow to love her even harder.
I loved that this was a young adult story. Adaline and Kason were both coming into their own skin with each other and I loved seeing that moment when they both fell in love. It was pure and effortless and for that brief moment, nothing was tainted. Their journey was filled with secrets and lies that most adults would not know how to cope with and these two did it with such ease to me. Kason was one of the best young adults I’ve ever read abut in a long time. This boy went through hell and he still managed to be sweet and caring when the time came.
As I’ve said before, this isn’t your ordinary story and these characters certainly have their many flaws, but if it’s one thing I’ve learned, is that some of the best love stories weren’t ordinary. They were complex and unforgiving but you felt the love and I felt this one.

Really wish someone would've warned me in their review about the "addiction" that the H suffers from. It's sexual addiction, and if I'd have know, I would've stayed far away from the book, cause I knew what was coming. The h and H begin a relationship, and he cheats on her with one of his regular enablers, when he fucks the girl in a grocery/convenience store back room. No joke. He cites being stressed and out of sorts as the reason why he sleeps with the girl, instead of his willing and available girlfriend. And the h forgives him, with very little fanfare, and they resume their relationship. Fair warning, the MCs are teenagers in high school, and that just made it so much more unbelievable and disturbing. I couldn't view the H as an actual addict, because all I saw was a teenage boy that liked lots of sex and decided to label it an addiction. Who after getting the girl he claimed to love so much, proceeds to cheat on her, for no apparent reason.
The entire book was a giant cop-out, because had the subject matter been handled more delicately and with a shit-ton more tact, it could have been an awesome read.

This is E.K. Blair’s first attempt writing a young adult story and for the most part she did do a pretty good job. I did like the group of friends and how she wrote the heroine’s feelings of abandonment by her father. However there is instant love that felt odd, the sex addiction for the hero seems a bit misdiagnosed and a couple of other things. Since this is written by E.K. I will try the next book to see if I like the continuation more than this first book.

REVIEW IN PROGRESS IPADS ARE FLAT
This took me on such a unique journey that I really wasn't expecting, I didn't realise the characters were so young but you know the story just worked, it suited in with what the author was trying to put across. It's definitely not something I would've expected from this author going by the previous books I've read but she conveyed the true essence of young adults perfectly and sensitively with the struggles each dealt with.

I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to read another book from E.K. Blair. She likes the dark side and I wasn't sure if I was up to it. And since this is touted as a New Adult/Young Adult series, I had hope that it wouldn't be too dark.
And overall, it's not. We get to learn about how Kason grew up and how he learned to deal with his addiction. I thought it was very sweet how him and Ady (Adaline) meet and fell in love but you just know what's coming,
Ady has had a somewhat sheltered and conservative life in Texas. Her and her Mom just moved to Florida and she had no idea how different things would be.
Both Kason and Ady's Moms work a lot so they have plenty of free time...free time to develop their relationship and other things. But there's a complication and Kason turns to what has always worked for him and makes a HUGE mistake.
Unfortunately, this is not the only drama. There are some events that left me shaking my head. I can only imagine they will be connected in the next book. (I hope anyway.)

Crave is story that burns slowly into your heart. It contains characters that are perfectly damaged and flawed. Although the plot isn't as dark as E.K. Blair's most recent books, I found it equally addicting, and I couldn't put this book down.
The story starts with Adaline starting a new high school in Florida. She acts brave and confident around everyone, but deep inside she is nervous about making new friends and fitting in. Eventually, she befriends some of the most popular guys in school with her easy Texas attitude and life becomes comfortable. But one guy stands out and she can't stop thinking about him. She wants to figure him out and understand him completely.
Kason has a different life than most of the students in his school. He isn't from a wealthy family and he works extremely hard to save money for his future. He is driven to have a different future and doesn't want any distractions. But Adaline gets under his skin and he can't stop the attraction. He wants and needs her but he has secrets that he is ashamed of.
The relationship between Kason and Adaline is complicated, and things aren't easy for them. Throughout the book, I wanted to scream and yell. I need to get my hands on the next book soon because the ending gave me a giant hangover.

Adaline and Kason gravitated to one another like planets do to the sun, their worlds simply meant to collide, brought together by fate. Florida is like nothing Ady knows and being the new girl her senior year is sure to be a disaster. Her terrible fate is changed though, when a group of handsome, popular men take her under their wing, bringing with them Kason, a brooding boy she wants to know more about. They come from opposite worlds, it's more than money that divides them, but in one another they find friendship, trust, and love. Kason would do anything for her, he'd stop everything for her, and he tried, but the craving only gets worse. As it takes over his world, Kason may find that not even love can kill a craving.
"But the more she gives, the more I crave."
Crave Pt 1 is not only a unique book in E.K. Blair's long line of excellent novels, it's unique in the New Adult Romance genre as well. E.K. Blair's portrayal of young adults is excellent, their young age is obvious through their thoughts and their actions. The situations they face, though we never wish them on anyone, are real and the angst that spills out of this book felt so much like I was truly living the situation as a teen myself. I loved Kason and Adaline, the main characters whose alternating POVs tell the story of high school, friendship, lust, love, addiction, and more. Riddled with twists and turns, the days aren't always easy for Kason and Ady and the scenes that tore them up made my heart ache in my chest. The characters are innocent in many ways, but also exposed to the bad that lurks in the world. It's so easy to turn a blind eye, to pretend that things must be good for everyone if they're going well for you, and Crave doesn't allow you to do that. They face that bad just as you'd expect teens to, with trepidation, anxious of what they might find, they don't go in with all the answers and what they find shocks and changes them. Both Kason and Ady grow increasingly more complex with each twist that they go through. The authenticity of this entire novel was so amazing, the characters and the conflicts really were outstanding, and E.K. Blair brings to life the high school environment.
"When I think about how pure she is, it only reminds me how dirty I am."
If I had known what Crave was about prior to reading, say it had been spoiled for me, I might not have read it. Part of why this book is so stand out is E.K. Blair's ability to write about incredibly difficult situations, they're painful and real for many people, but what I usually consider a trigger for me was not in this case. I didn't feel like I was reading a book that an author set out to write to make money, that she was cashing in on a subject that is controversial, I felt like I was reading a book with an author who knew she was going to face a tough crowd and wanted to give 100 percent to. E.K. Blair writes with detail and complex emotion, making the characters empathetic and in turn making the book a better read. It highlighted the difficulties emotionally and physically and it's obvious E.K. Blair gave it her all to put meaning into the hows and whys.
"I swear I can feel him breathing through the holes of my wounds when he begs, 'Tell me what I can do. Tell me how to fix this, because I can't keep pretending I don't need you.'"
Crave was different than I expected, there's so much more to it than the blurb gives away, and it will keep you glued to the pages no matter what goes on around you. I was captivated by the story of Kason and Ady, I loved that Crave read like a true YA book while dealing with very adult situations. It's just an INCREDIBLE read. This story is unlike anything else out there right now, I promise. Readers, you don't want to miss this one. I already cannot wait for Crave: Part Two, Part One ends in such a dramatic, intense fashion and I already know E.K. Blair is going to give us an end to this story that proves once again what an incredible author she is.

Mother of all cliffhanger! That is the cliffhanger??!!! I want to scream in frustration.
Oh this book has been on my audiobook list. But i do not have interest listen to it. I am not a big fan of NA romance. Now i am kicking myself not picking it up sooner.
Where do i start? Kacen is beautiful. He is damaged, confuse, frustrated, loathing himself. He shuts himself of and only giving into his addiction. He does not understand why he have this addiction and how to heal himself. Until he met Ady. They both falls into love with each other. Not insta lust or insta love. But beautiful love together.
I have a soft spot for damage character and this author brings out the damage hero with so many complex layers on it. I have to warned you its not besutiful swooning love story. I have to give a warning there might be trigger.
I love the story. It is a bit dragging but i promise if u have patience, you will see how beautiful it is. Just gut wrenching. Oh and you need a box of tissue. It is full of angst.

What.The.Fuck.Did. I.Just. Read???!!!
Okay now, bear with me. I have been E.K Blair fan the moment I read Bang. That book made me nuts yet made me crave for more of hers woks. Now several years later, she released Crave and I was beyond thrilled.The cover and teasers screamed great and epic and as if it's calling my name that when it finally hit my reader, I devoured the book and inhaled it with all my might.
It was nothing I ever expected. The book surprised me to no end and this is considering it's only the first book of the duet. I am stunned and was in awe because I did not expect what I read. At first I really was so hell bent, it's YA. In fact reading it made me missed being young. I love how it was actually portrayed. School, friends, parties -- everything. You know that teenage feeling? I felt it. I missed it and reading it with E.K Blair's words just felt so real and alive that I just kept on flipping the pages basking it all. But then, I have this nagging feeling there's something more to this and I was right after all. It was more than I thought it would be and no matter how I wanted to talk about I just couldn't. I wanted to shout what I felt but I wouldn't because this book, needs to be read blind. And hell, I want you to experience it yourself and be the judge of it.
Overall, I will recommend this book. I love it. As always, E.K Blair's writing is stellar. Her words and lines will make you want to flip pages to pages and just savor it until the end. The slow burn romance and the way it was portrayed will made you root for it. The feeling it was associated will struck you right in the heart. you can feel it deep in your bones. Man, I went from smiling and feeling a teenager, to being so turned on and confused, the angst was even killing me. I was in the edge yet at some point I love the teenage feels but then kept on questioning what's gonna happen next. What might the situation will lead into. It's YA yes, but everything was just uniquely written and with it's complications and I just can't say anymore. In as much as I wanna say, I thought the book will have the Lotus Series feels, I couldn't compare it to that series. It's a different jourey, one that is unique and really excellently written.
Great job E.K Blair! I couldn't wait for the next book. October can't come fast enough!

When it comes to EK Blair, the only books I've read of hers are the "Black Lotus" series and "Author Anonymous" both of which were as crazy and as f**ked up as you can get. Mind blown doesn't even come close so I guess when I read the synopsis of "Crave," I was expecting something along the same lines. Well what a surprise this was because "Crave" was nothing like those books, nothing at all and to say this author did a complete 180 when it comes to her writing would be an understatement. I've got to say though peeps, the story I got as a result of this change in direction was phenomenal and yes, it absolutely blew my mind.
"Crave" was an unexpected read that I'm dying to talk to the world about it but I can't. There is so much I want to say but I feel there is a reason why this author chose to be vague in the synopsis. She wanted to give her readers that element of surprise and boy did she do that. From the sub genre to the characters, from storyline to the twists, I loved what felt like such a natural course for Adaline and Kason's story. But as much as I've said this hasn't followed in the same footsteps as some of this author's other books, please don't think this will be a walk in the park kind of read. Hell no. This story played on my mind so much so that I found myself wide awake at 3am thinking about the characters and desperate to know how it would all end.
In terms of the characters, it was difficult not to love each and every one of them. They were full of so much heart and soul and they weaved their way into my affections so very easily. I felt their joy and sorrow, their anguish and heart ache, their insecurities and vulnerabilities, their guilt and shame, their highs and lows, god did I feel such an overwhelming melee of emotions. And then when it all went tits up, I felt like my heart would never beat again, that feeling of being on a knife's edge a constant.
I love the way this author covers subject matters that are... let's say "unique" for want of a better word and she definitely did that in "Crave." She absolutely put her own stamp on the subject matter that's for sure, making this book as unique as they come but also making it unpredictable so amen to that.
Another job well done EK Blair. The writing as always was impeccable the words stamping themselves on my emotions. The visuals ensured I felt like I was a fly on the wall experiencing this book instead of just reading it and the story line, well what can I say other than there was so of meat on the bone and plenty to sink my teeth into. I absolutely loved "Crave" and cannot wait to get my mitts on the final instalment in this duet. Hands down a ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

She understands me when I don't even understand myself. She's forgiving when I refuse to forgive the things I've done. And she gives me hope in the eye of hopelessness.

**FULL REVIEW**
First of all, let me start by saying...whoa. Blair has once again left me hanging by a tiny thread with her infamous endings that really aren't endings. I loved every second of this book.
It was one of those kinda make you squirm because...well, just because. (I totally can't tell you without giving away what also makes it so freaking good!) The love story is one you may have heard a time or two--rich girl, poor boy, fall in love...yeah, no. Well, yes it's that but SO MUCH MORE. It's the depth of these people; their backgrounds, their lifestyle, current situations...their demons.
So, here's a little info.
Kason is that boy. Adaline (Ady) is that girl. He's smart, a hard worker, and hiding something deep within himself that not even he understands. She's the lonely new girl with a work-a-holic mother and abandonment issues. Undeniably attracted to each other, Kason and Adaline wade through the Tampa-salty waters of relationship firsts, broken trust, and family drama while trying to find themselves beneath the surface of image and status.
How could one not be intrigued? I wanted to know more from the very first sentence in the very first chapter, on the very first page. And I wanted to know even more as I read the last paragraph...knowing this was it. For now anyway...but it doesn't stop my over-active mind from speculating all the things that could happen in Part Two. I dread to think about it, yet it will keep me hungover until October when I'm finally put out of my misery.
Will it be mutual heartbreak once again, or will Kason and Ady see their relationship in a new way? Either way, nothing is the same. It hasn't been for some time...and it's about to change again. This time though, the damage may be irreversible.

E.K. Blair is well-known for her dark, erotica romances that usually have me throwing my eReader across the room. So when I heard that she was writing a contemporary romance, I was all ears. I was curious to see how her writing would differ and to see if she could pull off a sweeter type of romance.
The story begins with Adaline, the new girl who just moved to Florida with her mother. She runs into Kason in the school parking lot and the two end up hitting it off. Kason and Adaline start spending more time together and find themselves falling for the another. But Kason has a secret. He has a craving that can't be satisfied and if he's not careful, it could ruin the one thing he cares about the most.
While Crave is a contemporary romance, it does have a touch of darkness to it. This book deals with some dark subject matter, like addiction and sexual assault, so fair warning. To be honest, I liked Crave when I first started it. But as the story went on, I found myself losing interest and not really caring about what was going happen next. The writing was just very dry and the POVs were monotone. Like, I'm used to being shook as fuck when reading a book by Blair, but I was just bored with this one.
I didn't really care for either of our characters. I don't think Adaline knows who she is without Kason. Once she and Kason get together, he basically becomes her whole world and she spends majority of her time waiting for him to get off work so they can be together. I don't like heroines like this. Imma need her to find something to do with her time. I also felt like we didn't get enough POVs with Kason. I wanted to get to know him better and to see him struggling with his addiction. I'm hoping we get more of him in the sequel. The ending was just a bit much to be honest. Like why did we even need to go with that twist?! Hopefully Crave: Part Two will be a lot better than this book.

Not being generally a Fan of YA/NA genre of romance , and less so of High School Love stories, I took a chance because I trust EK's sensibility in handling normal stories in extraordinary way. She is a good writer and I've been her fan since lotus series. Here too , I enjoyed reading about simpler love and its sweeter problems.
Kason and Adaline are South Shore high students. Ady is a transplant from Texas and Kason is from the seedier part of Florida. They couldn't be any further apart and on opposite sides of social spectrum . Yet they have an instant attraction and they take time to develop it into something more stronger.
They hang out in a group with Trent , Molly and Micah .
Somehow, he’s found the hidden path straight to my soul, a path not even I was aware of. But here he is, my body absorbing him in fractions as he continues to slowly hand himself over to me, piece by piece. He isn’t one to open up quickly, but when he does, with every small bit he hands over to me, I fall that much deeper.
They go about the bullied hallways and jealous classrooms with hands held tightly and sweet ,trusting kisses .
The time flies quickly and though they encourage each other's ambitions, they don't want to shackle the growth of their still pubescent love. College time is there and their lives are going through a change , Scary and exciting at the same time. They both wanna be there for each other , as much as explore new possibilities in their own individual fields.
“This feels like a dream,”I murmur peacefully. “You feel like a dream.”He takes my hand from his face and presses his lips to the inside of my palm. “Then let’s never wake up.”
Adaline loves whole heartedly with innocent heart. The world is a rosy place for her and she gives Kason naive respect and devotion even though he's battling his inner demons , including his mom Sharon. That's very endearing and sweet of her and she loves Kason unconditionally
A person he never has to fear will turn their back on him or judge him. A person who can be his safety net so he doesn’t have to always be so strong , that he can have his moments to unload his pain and know that, with me by his side, it doesn’t mean he has to fall.
The story comes to a shocking cliffie stop and I'm expecting an equally challenging time in book 2 and EK's expertise in solving the crisis.

Non credo di essere in grado di trovare delle parole adatte per farvi capire quanto mi sia piaciuto questo romanzo. Avevo bisogno di una lettura FORTE, che mi smuovesse l'anima e mi prendesse a calci nello stomaco. Questo libro ci è riuscito in pieno! Avevo sentito parlare poco bene di questo romanzo, per via del tema che viene trattato al suo interno, non tollerabile da tutti, ma dentro di me sapevo che lo avrei AMATO PROFONDAMENTE. Perché? Perché è impossibile non INNAMORARSI PERDUTAMENTE di Kason ♥
Il mio Kase, il mio cucciolo, il mio trottolino amoroso e du du da da da. Fin dalla prima pagina sapevo che questo diciassettenne mi avrebbe CONQUISTATA COMPLETAMENTE. Perché Kason non è come il classico protagonista maschile. Non è il ragazzo più popolare della scuola che se la tira come se fosse un dio. Kason è riservato, poco appariscente e molte volte ama stare da solo. Sì, è bello, veramente bello, ma i tipi come lui sono un po' irraggiungibili, perché vivono in un mondo tutto loro e difficilmente lasciano entrare qualcuno. Kason vive quasi nell'ombra, e anche quando decide di uscirne per stare con gli amici, quell'oscurità non lo abbandona mai.
Ma per me, Kason è SPLENDENTE COME IL SOLE.
E anche Adeline lo vede allo stesso modo. Per lei, Kason è una fiamma di cui agogna il calore disperatamente. Lui non si lascia avvicinare facilmente, ed è stato bellissimo vedere come lei gli si accostasse passo passo, con attenzione e ovviamente il timore dovuto alla sua giovane età e alla sua inesperienza. Adeline è veramente una brava ragazza e una bella persona – e in certi frangenti, dove la situazione diventava davvero tosta, anche incredibilmente matura.
Ho letto recensioni in cui hanno condannato brutalmente Kason per il suo disturbo, ma come si può disprezzare un povero ragazzo che non ha alcuna colpa per la malattia che lo ha abbrancato? È ORRIBILE vedere come lui ne sia letteralmente CONSUMATO. Kason è un PRIGIONIERO che più lotta, più perde la sua battaglia. Più combatte per essere più forte del bisogno, più questo lo rende DEBOLE. Il sesso è qualcosa di schifoso, per lui. Masturbarsi a ripetizione è ancora più umiliante. Non c'è niente di bello nella sua dipendenza, NIENTE. Né lui gode dell'intimità come una persona normale farebbe. Perché Kason non è normale. È DIVERSO, è SOLO. Non può parlarne con nessuno perché si VERGOGNA da morire. È solo un ragazzo, che diamine, e non dovrebbe... NON dovrebbe sentirsi così. NON è giusto.
È impossibile non voler aiutarlo.
È impossibile abbandonarlo al proprio destino.
È impossibile odiarlo per qualcosa di cui lui non ha controllo.
Ho letteralmente DIVORATO questo romanzo! La scrittura di E.K. Blair è coinvolgente e scorrevole, è stato un vero piacere rileggerla a distanza di quattro anni, quando la scoprii con il suo sconvolgente Bang. Questa storia mi ha tenuta incollata al Kindle, strappandomi il cuore dal petto, facendomelo balzare in gola, lanciandolo al galoppo sfrenato... e infine lasciandomi a bocca aperta con un cliffhanger che, proprio come Adeline, ti fa gridare: «No, no, no, nooo!».

I have to admit, reading the blurb and looking at the book cover I was very surprised to find out this was a story about high school students. For the most part, I do go into books blind but I tend to skim the synopsis so when I was reading I was thrown a little that the characters were seventeen and going into their senior year of high school. But with that I think EK Blair was able to bring us an intriguing story that sucked me until the last page. The story does span from the end of the high school years to the beginning of college so I know Part 2 will be a roller-coaster on steroids!! I cannot wait to see how the story unfolds!! I will be patiently waiting until October! This is part of a duet and is told in alternating points of views.
Adaline just moved to Florida from Texas with her Mother. She is having to start her senior year in a new school with no friends. She does meet some local guys while at the beach and they quickly become her best friends and protectors. But one of the boys catches her eye more than the others.
Even though Kason goes to school in the best part of town that doesn't mean he belongs there. He has to work to help his mom as she's already working two jobs and is barely making ends meet. Girls to him or just an ends to a mean. He's never had a serious girlfriend and when him and Adaline get closer than just friends he finds himself in a place he's never been before.
As Kason and Adaline's relationship grows, they find themselves in unchartered territory. Adaline is saving herself for marriage but feels her love for Kason is the real deal and struggles with the choices to make. Kason is fighting his own demons. He has a part of himself he's not shared with Adaline and he's afraid of opening himself up to her fully as the if she knew the truth about him, he may loose her. What happens with all things are bared. Will their relationship survive when Kason opens up? How will live in college effect their relationship. They are moving on to the next chapter in the lives but things are about to change! How... you'll need to read Crave Part 1 to find out!!

I am not really sure what I expected when I read the blurb for this story, but the story I read was so much more. E.K. Blair writes stories that consume the reader and Crave Part One was no different.
I loved Adeline and Kason. When they meet they are drawn together and begin falling. They experience first love. But their journey is anything but easy. Secrets get in the way.
This was both a sweet story of falling in love and new experiences, as well heartbreak. I was drawn in from start to end. And that ending! I cannot to wait for book two!

Crave is totally different from EK’s other dark and twisted adult books. Crave has a YA'ish/New Adult feel. Ady and Kason are both high school aged young adults dealing with some very adult issues. I have to keep my description very brief so that I don't spoil this book for anyone. I want you to go in blind. Let me just say that this book isn’t like anything out there. This coming of age romance tackles some complex physical and emotional issues. Addiction is never an easy topic to write or read about. EK injected her signature story telling abilities into one hell of a raw and unique read. This book was highly addictive in the best possible way and had me craving the second book in the Crave Duet before I hit the last page. That ending…

Crave Part One…well OH MY FREAKING GOD, if E.K. Blair didn't leave me craving part 2 and needing it in my hands, right freaking NOW! This book is very reminiscent of her Fading Series and if you haven’t read that, then you really MUST! This is the series that made me fall in love with E.K.'S style of writing.
She has the ability to capture your attention from the beginning until even weeks later. It has been a week or more since I’ve finished reading Crave, and Adeline and Kason are still on my mind. Their love for one another runs so deep you feel it in your bones and your heart just aches for them. Kason and Adeline meet in high school and their relationship grows from there. Remember the first time you fell in love? How exhilarating, euphoric and all consuming it was? Well get ready to fall in love all over again! The FEELS! My God…the feels! E.K. Blair nails the feelings in this book. Also, no surprise, it is a duet after all…remember the devastation of your first broken heart? The suffering, the heartache, the agony and anguish?! Again…prepare yourself and arm yourself with the necessary provisions…wine (booze of your choice) but you're going to need a drink! Chocolate, because that is what we women do, eat our feelings! And tissues…numerous boxes of tissues.
The issues in the book are profound and very unexpected, but E.K. Blair takes them head on and in a delicate and tasteful manner, and as always, she makes you think! Crave by E.K. Blair has all the right ingredients for a great book! This first love story has a whole lot of drama and darkness, but is also filled with soooo much sweetness. It's not your run of mill romance! I was shocked at the mature situations and issues. This is YA with an adult twist. Once I finished, I was left with more then craving the next book. More like a junky needing a fix... Needing it NOW!!
Kason & Ady are wonderful complex characters. Their love was beyond beautiful and equally as tortuous... Kason's story broke my heart. He lives with a terrible secret filled with shame and guilt. Loving all of him isn't easy, but Ady does with her entire heart. In return his love for her is endless... Ady is one of those characters you can not help but love. She is so sweet and naive... Addiction of any kind is horrible, especially if you are young and pretty much helpless. My heart and mind were at odds while I read... My heart wanted the all consuming love, while my brain kept screaming, how on Earth can Kason & Ady survive this???
Crave just proves what a fantastic storyteller E.k. Blair truly is..This lady can write anything. She continues to amaze me. A MUST READ.

REVIEW: 5 ACHING STARS

OMGOSH......I neeeeed the next book yesterday! YESTERDAY, I tell you!
Crave is a new series by EK Blair -- well, actually it's a duet. It's not what we have been accustomed to lately from Blair. She has given us tragic and painful, but she's also given us sick and depraved... but they always had the underlying breathtaking love story to go with them. Something that has always made us crawl deeper into her world because we know she can bring a deep, heart-rendering love to life that will bring us to our knees. She writes with depth and relatability, to endear you to her characters, and to feel their anguish as they navigate their love and their heartbreaks. I love that she can do that.
This one starts out in high school and we get to fall in love with Kason and Ady falling in love. Literally. <-- I made a funny. HAHAHA! I am not a huge YA reader, and I don't normally read high school aged kids because I just don't like the immaturity that some authors write. Going in, I didn't know what this one encompassed, but I do know that Blair can write a story and bring it to life and not let me question a thing. The thing about this book is that even though we are dealing with kids growing up, the depth of Blair's words, and the reality of the storyline she gives us, it makes it so that we are still able to connect and feel on such a level that we can be empathetic and not roll our eyes. I know I speak a lot about not liking YA and then I find myself reading them. I should probably stop saying that. I am finding myself increasingly willing to accept more YA by authors that I know will give me a well thought out and unscripted story that tests my emotions and makes me think beyond my own comfort level. Crave was that one for me this time.
This was honestly one of the best written teenage love stories that I have ever read. These two are wise beyond their years due to the circumstances around them, and their bond is such a beautiful bond. It was an easy going, giddy, and flirtatious start to their relationship that made you smile and remember back to your first love in high school. Does it stay young? No, actually. When I say we get to grow with them, I mean we actually grow with them and get to maneuver obstacles of the heart as well as the physical. Here we have such an innocent and young, almost immature confusion in Kason and Ady's world. A lack of understanding that leads to anger and pain, and it is such a scary thing to wade through as an adult, let alone a teenager. The fact that these two allowed their love to guide them, and their understanding and need for each other to push them, it said a lot about their love.
When I hear addiction, I think drugs or alcohol. A choice someone has made to try something and they end up becoming addicted. But what if it's something different? Something you don't even understand. an addiction that a teenager has to fathom and understand, constantly wondering what is wrong with them. I think Blair touched on a very sticky subject that encompasses pain and guilt, while causing shame and humiliation. I was drawn in and couldn't stop turning the pages. I fell in love with Kason and Ady, but I was engrossed in the overall story that she told.
However.....that cliffie? I may have said "I hate you" to a certain author who shall not be named, even though I love her words. My heart splintered. My heart aches because of the situation and the levity of the actions portrayed. I am going to cry until October, just so you know. I feel like I need to hug Kason and comfort Ady...as a mother, as a friend, hell -- as a reader.
"How could we be so close and so disconnected all at the same time?"
This is one of those books you can just discuss repeatedly. The sorrows, the confusion, the pain, and the love. It's all there. When was the last time you got sucked into a book? I don't mean you enjoyed it, raved about it and then moved on. I mean truly lost, enraptured from the first chapter, sucked in and just felt it? That was this book. I obviously strive for a SPOILER FREE review with every review I do, so there is only so much I can discuss without giving something away, but I oftentimes wonder how an author can tell a story like this, more specifically, how they come up with great stories like this, and never tell the same story. Well, EK stands out because her stories have reality fleshed with fiction, easily relatable and undeniably passionate.

OMGOSH......I neeeeed the next book yesterday! YESTERDAY, I tell you!
Crave is a new series by EK Blair -- well, actually it's a duet. It's not what we have been accustomed to lately from Blair. She has given us tragic and painful, but she's also given us sick and depraved... but they always had the underlying breathtaking love story to go with them. Something that has always made us crawl deeper into her world because we know she can bring a deep, heart-rendering love to life that will bring us to our knees. She writes with depth and relatability, to endear you to her characters, and to feel their anguish as they navigate their love and their heartbreaks. I love that she can do that.
This one starts out in high school and we get to fall in love with Kason and Ady falling in love. Literally. <-- I made a funny. HAHAHA! I am not a huge YA reader, and I don't normally read high school aged kids because I just don't like the immaturity that some authors write. Going in, I didn't know what this one encompassed, but I do know that Blair can write a story and bring it to life and not let me question a thing. The thing about this book is that even though we are dealing with kids growing up, the depth of Blair's words, and the reality of the storyline she gives us, it makes it so that we are still able to connect and feel on such a level that we can be empathetic and not roll our eyes. I know I speak a lot about not liking YA and then I find myself reading them. I should probably stop saying that. I am finding myself increasingly willing to accept more YA by authors that I know will give me a well thought out and unscripted story that tests my emotions and makes me think beyond my own comfort level. Crave was that one for me this time.

skim skim skimmidy skim. the book characters were boring, predictable and flat. i rolled my eyes 24/7 and the book flow was choppy and weird. not my cup of tea.

Crave Part One (Crave Duet #1) by EK Blair

EK Blair shows another side to her writing with Crave. This was so not what I was expecting. EK Blair to me, is dark, a little taboo, with erotic adults who like to explore their sexual side. Crave is about young adults (although this is NOT a YA book) as EK Blair still regales us with her trademark sex scenes. Crave was emotional, of course a little screwed up, I mean EK has to show her face somewhere, but it explores a side to teenagers that is not often explored in books.
Adaline is the new girl in town, relocating due to her mother’s work. Starting a new school near the end of the school year is always difficult. Cliques are already in place and being in a private school, social tiers are prevalent, a hierarchy of sorts and a newcomer is never welcome. Ady falls into friendship with one of the popular boys and soon finds herself attracted to one of his quiet, unassuming friends. Ady, albeit from an affluent family had her own issues. Abandonment issues were at the top of them. Having been rejected by her father after once being the apple of his eye has been hard for her take and understand, and now him having a new family only exacerbates the chasm that has already formed.
Kason is the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, only attending school due to some strings pulled and a scholarship. Kason is extremely intelligent and sees this opportunity as his ticket out of poverty. Kason is a hard worker, putting in all the hours to earn enough money to then fund university. Kason was intriguing from the get go, there was something about him that you knew made him vulnerable and it was this vulnerability that made the reader want to protect him at all costs.
There is a reason that this synopsis is really vague and as such, my review, too, will be vague. The author has cleverly concealed the true direction of this book and that is something I want to preserve as the journey that these characters take is one you need to experience as the author intended. As ever with an EK Blair read this book is chock full of emotion, but of a totally different kind to her norm. It is this emotion and intense character connection that makes you experience the highs and lows, you run the gamut of emotions with these characters and I often found myself trying to relate their journey to the experiences that I went through in my mid to late teens too. I felt everything that these two went through, their pain, their guilt, their insecurities, their vulnerabilities, their connection, their love, but most of all, I believed in them as a couple.
I adored every single character in this book. EK Blair really plays her trump card by delivering real, relatable characters that are fun to be around and despite their wealth have that air of normality. The dialogue and the banter between them was perfect, suited their age and their situation. When this author writes her more adult books I find myself totally consumed by her words, even if I do have to look a few up in a dictionary. With Crave, the prose was tailored to the age of her characters while still retaining the trademark EK Blair style.
I cannot wait for the concluding part, seriously, EK Blair knows how to get her hooks into you and leave you hanging for the next morsel she dares to chuck your way. These characters literally entrench themselves into your heart and Kason, in particular, was a character where my mother bear instincts went into overdrive. I am desperate for the next one, it seriously cannot come quick enough. Fabulous job EK Blair.

Crave: Part One by E.K. Blair leaves you craving part two to be on your kindle yesterday! The story of Kason and Addy is one that I have never encountered before and don't know if I will again. It has kept me thinking long after I turned the last page, pondering all of the possible scenarios of this story and how it will continue to play out.
Addy is the new girl in school so close to Summer Vacation. Moving from Texas to Florida, she makes friends with the popular boys at school, who take her under their wing. But it is quiet and elusive Kason that peaks her interest to a point that she cannot stop thinking about him. Kason, who keeps to himself for so many reasons lets Addy in to each and every one of his dirty and dark secrets because the love for her is more than he could ever imagine. The fact that she loves him in spite of his faults is beyond anything he could have ever wanted in a girlfriend.
Kason & Addy get through a lot of difficult issues that most teenagers wouldn't even fathom let alone have to deal with. And just when it seems that things are going well for this pair when they begin their freshman year of college....someone beyond tragic happens.
AND E.K. Blair leaves the reader with one of the biggest and horrifying cliff hangers. I actually gasped when I read the final words of part one. I need to know what comes next!!!!!

Can I start by saying I love this cover?
This is the book 1 in the crave duet.
This book gave me all the feels such a beautiful captivating story. It had me turning the pages I was so invested in this book I could not put it down.
I am not going to give away any of the story you really need to read for yourselves and but I can promise if you are E K Blair fan you will love it. It is told in both Kason & Adaline POV which I love.
The story is about Kason and Adaline. From when they first meet, you just want to know more of what is going to happen when they get together.
Kason I completely fell in love with, he has a craving, addiction he has secrets but you just cannot help but adore him. And all he wants to do is love Adaline. However, when things come to light can their relationship handle it or will the things that came to light tear them apart?
Adaline what a sweet a loveable girl I really liked her character. She might be rich but she does not act like a spoiled brat, she is the kind of girl you would love to have as a friend. She is fun.
This book isn’t what I expected, it touches on a subject people don’t really talk about. I really liked all the characters in this book they really start to grow through the book. It is well written and the story is so beautiful I really cannot wait for part 2.
