A nun walks into a bar. There’s just one problem with that - it’s a shifter bar, the owner is a vampire, and the nun is a witch.
From the very first moment that Vanessa walks into the shifter bar things start to get complicated. Sure, she’s dressed like a nun, and the alpha takes a liking to her, but that’s only the beginning of her problems.
Ryan is sure that fate has gone insane. A nun? His mate? No way. But that shock in no way prepares the alpha for what comes next.
Three wolves, three witches, two vampires, one she-wolf, one Wizard, and a bear shifter’s paths all collide in this comedy romance with sarcasm, wooing, zapping, and mayhem that will never let you look at the supernatural world in the same way again.
Hold on for another wild and whacky ride in the His Mate series.
Loved it, fun, fast paced and funny. Vanessa walks into a shifter bar after a party trying to tract down her ride, Faith, who ditched her at said party. She catches the attention of Ryan the local pack Alpha, along with the rest of the bar. Did I mention she is dresses as a nun. Clive, the bar owner, and vampire is intrigued by the nun in the bar until he figures out what she really is and who she really is to Ryan. Than her friends show up. Carried off to pack land, Vanessa, Faith, and Vanessa find themselves mates to Ryan, Mick, and Jason. Then Faith's friend, crazy Clara, shows up for a rescue. The vampire didn't. Leave anything to chance. She called in reinforcements. Faiths brother Devlin and Remy, her bear shifter friend. A fun light read.
I think this is a first for me....very rarely do I rate books so low or leave as a 'dnf' but I just couldn't keep going. I even skipped ahead and the characters are still unlikable. The description sounded like it would be a nice, funny paranormal read but instead it was filled with immature and beyond stubborn fmc's. I can understand the resisting fate trope but to continually 'zap' or injure their mates with no remorse without even explaining their aversion to being mated made me want to throw my kobo at the wall.
I loved the story. I laughed so hard during the bar scene when the witches tried to play nuns in a bar full of shifters. They were testing new wards and spells to mask themselves. Three friends of one witch tried to come to their rescue with even more mayhem. I love all of the author's books but this was one of the funniest by far.
This story was weird and crazy from the get go. But it was still and enjoyable short story.
Highlights Dev said he was gay that's the most random excuse not to do something lol. I wish I have as many crazy friends as Faith. The fact that all the females in the story are fiery and strong willed.
Was funny as shell and a lot of back and forth. But finally got going and I think they all are finally mated lol. Funny part was at the Bar, any who a vampire in the mix and a bear shifter lol
Best book of the series. Hilarious at the bar scenes. How dumb can the wolf shifters be. I think Jeannie would have blown their cover with all her laughing than Faith's bad mouth. Also loved Clara & Remy scenes, hilarious at the shifters attitude towards the new guests
This book is one of the most boring I’ve ever spent my time reading, it’s unbelievable!
I had to skim past so much of the endless, repetitive and inane dialogue just to get to the end. Eventually I gave up and couldn’t really be bothered anymore. Aaah!
This is a must read! Another great book by M L Briers. This series is fantastic. Wonderful characters and great plot twists. I highly recommend this series.
