I'm sorry Goodreads doesn't have a photo of this book's cover. It's beautiful. The photos in it are amazing. LOVE it. And there's a very helpful glossary, wherein I learned that (get this, all you who are as butterfly-ignernt as I): butterflies have hearts! Who knew. Under each photo is a lengthy description of the species and its habits, and there's a sidebar with information as to whether the butterfly species is common or threatened, plus the geographical area where it can be found. Very beautiful and informative guide. So glad I found it.

A very interesting read. I got this for the pictures mostly, and was pleasantly surprised to find it is NOT a scientific treatis on buttlerflies and moths. but it IS a pleasure to read it. the "official" names are there but so to is the nick name. the one a normal person is likely to remember. it is very easy to read; and more importantly, it is a pleasure to read. the author makes it very understandable and enjoyable.

I received this book as a gift from my friend, as I am super fond of butterflies in my area.

This books photos are fantastic, and has great information about the different species. This book does cover the entire globe, so it was gret to see some of the beautiful ones we don't have where I live.

of course it doesn't cover ever single type of butterfly and moth, but many are included here.

The book is undeniably beautiful but it suffers from not showing images of the larval form.
