I’ve read a lot of books about manifesting and the law of attraction. With a few exceptions, most tend to focus on physical manifestation of commercial goods or other means of financial gain. Basically, wanting a great job that pays X dollars a year and nice car.
A few of the better ones do mention that in order for something to be appear in the physical plane, it has to resonate with inner truth. However, The Attraction Distraction focuses almost exclusively on this topic. Moreover, the author takes the reader step by step through the process of finding out what you really want, how that desire is connected to your life purpose, and what obstacles you are likely to face.
I very much appreciated this more thorough take on manifesting. When in the midst of a crisis, it’s very difficult to clarify wants and even more challenging to have them resonate with the best possible outcome for you. The exercises in this book help emmesely with the process.
I'd never wanted to read a book about "the Law of Attraction" before I came across some YouTube videos by the original Esther & Jerry Hicks, which by the way are worth watching and very empowering. I picked this book after high rating about, it's an easy read (to me it was). It's a very interactive book with lots of exercises to do & see where you are stuck at with in your life. I actually did some exercises & was amazed to see the outcome. I would recommend this book to anyone who thinks it's worth exploring their emotions & spend some worth while time on themselves, what's to loose! Otherwise like the author say " you many as well just throw this book out of the window".
I keep reading these new age books in hopes that one of them will be the kick in the patootie that I need to get going on my future (i have a future... seriously? had no idea. cool.) This one is actually better than the cover art or the too long title leads you to believe. I'm not saying this will make miracles happen, but she does have excellent ideas on how to stay positive and how necessary that very act of keeping optimistic IS.
The title of this New Thought book is misleading because it is very much about the law of attraction and how to use it. There is really nothing new here for those who have read a lot of this type of self help book, but for those who are new to New Thought and the law of attraction, this is a good introduction to this philosophy and has a few ideas for advanced students also.
I've read this book before but it's always good to read again. Although there are many books out there about the Law of Attraction this is one of the better ones!
