Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
This is the 13th book of the Wolves of desire series. This is Xander story and when he finds his mate he not sure what he running from. When Demons and Hellhound start to come after Sylvester game changes. This is a must read series and if you love the paranormal then this is one to read
UGH... I should have started that dang spreadsheet! *grin*
These characters just keep me coming back for more! I am glad to only have two more books to read in this series (Ms. Hagen does like to keep going and going and going... LOL!!!) but at the same time, I am going to miss everyone in the pack and their Mates... Unless of course, Ms. Hagen writes another one... surely not! hahaha
Yes, it is getting harder and harder to keep everyone straight and it would have helped if I had read the series this was a spin-off from... but such is life. (What do you want to bet that I end up going back and reading it later?) *headdesk* LOL!!!
BTW: That is one fine looking... cover!
As for the story... I really think all of these books have been too short and lacking in detail, but for some reason, I just can't seem to stop myself from reading them! ;p
Loved Sylvester (Puddy Tat) and Xander just broke my heart with his story of his past... our kids need to be our top priority, whether in fiction or real life... grrr
This was a wonderful installment of the, Wolves Of Desire, series. Although, I do have a difficult time trying to remember who's mated to whom (in any series, really). Xander (part wolf and part demon) and Sylvester (human, his little "Putty Tat" :D) were so precious as mates, and there was a significant amount of back story so I was definitely never bored. I love the way Xander handled his business (the way I was hoping he would) , and dealt with the threats in his life (and Sylvester's) without wavering about what to do. I'm totally beyond tired of Joe Hephner, however, Lucinda was a solid source of fascination for me. All in all, I enjoyed this book, and luckily I have the next book in the series. Yay! =)
Rating: 3 stars This book started out slow to me, but picked up some as it progressed. I definitely wasn't one of my favorite of the series. It's never a good sign when I am more interested in what is going on with side characters than I am with the main ones. Sylvester and Xander were okay as the MC's, I just didn't really connect with them that much.
All in all, I thought this an okay addition to the Wolves of Desire series. I could take or leave it to be honest. There were as usual plot points left dangling. I look forward to the next one in the series; I just hope that the Joe Hephner story line is wrapped up soon. I am ready for the series to go in a different direction.
