Alex was my Math AQ prof! She turned my math world upside down. She conducted some of her research in my classroom over 2 years of time. Her developmental continuum makes complete sense. Why do we have reading and writing continuums and no math? Children in my primary classes were and will always be on their own journey regardless of grade level expectations. A continuum gives as well teachers things to look for and assess. It gives students specific feedback so they know how to articulate what they know and where they need to go next.
