A Book of Hope
A true life story of one young woman's redemption from the depths of mental illness. A story of a rescue that came when her desperate father found a miracle that has confounded the conventions of medicine, a miracle that saved his children from the ravages of mental illness, institutionalization, and certain suicide- a death that he could not spare his wife. Finally, the white-knuckle story of an unexpected fight for life when a government made this father's miracle illegal. These Painted Wings is wrought with harrowing agony, psychotic, joyful healing, fierce strength, and more than a miracle or two.

Non ficiton book about a mother who suffers from mental illness and her unusual journey to sanity. It's very well written and poignant. A really interesting and at times wrenching read.

Was recommended to me after I met the author. Intriguing read. Learned so much and found myself better able to empathize with people suffering from any sort of depression or mental illness.
