Métier’s creams result in a customer’s death, and the three friends face an ordeal of profound doubt, spiritual crisis, and persecution that threatens to tear them apart.
Daphne Rose Kingma brings insights from her self-help books to a modern fairy tale that is both enlightening and entertaining. This is an extraordinary debut about the nature of love and relationships.
DNF with a little under 100 pgs left. I tried. Really I did. This was such a strange book. I couldn't relate to the characters in any way, the story line is odd and I was not moved or excited about any part of what i read. The reviews of this says it's like a fairytale for adults but I didn't get that at all.
Kingma is one of my favorite writers, and once again she does not disappoint. A beautiful blend of deep psychological insight, rich spiritual wisdom, and engaging story telling, "The Magical World of Madame Metier" is entertaining, insightful, and inspiring. Full of twists and turns, this magical tale is sure to delight.
very sweet, very magical - about the heart, the soul and relationships. What I didn't like though - the last half of the books was a race to the end. Should have been as slow and delightful as the first 3/4
A profound and thought provoking read. Makes me think of my own self and how because of these beautiful words, I can be a better self to others and to myself.
I enjoyed most of this book. I loved all the magical and whimsical work in the book. But I sure would have liked some receipts for the creams! The book brought you on a journey. But the last part of the book felt like the author had to finish the book. I was disappointed with that. However, overall enjoyed it.
