ARC review For honest review. Gavin mom has cancer dying. Maddie is a model .Gavin's mom makes one request Gavin really needs to think about it .then Maddie makes the same suggestion. this is a story that is definitely different from most of the fake marriage ones .awesome

Gavin lost his father a few years ago and his mother is dying of cancer. He feels like his life is falling apart. He sold the family business for billions which helps him pay his mother's medical bills but he is at loose ends. His mother's only wish is that Gavin gets a girlfriend and settles down. Gavin only has one friend Ron who he grew up playing with.
Maddie is from a poorer family struggling with debts. Maddie and her best friend have had a dream of becoming successful models/actresses. To be successful, they have to have a presence on social media and gain new followers everyday. They have to be constantly taking selfies and posting which is getting a little old.Her friend has just been given a big modeling job in California but Madison is still struggling. Her cousin Ron invites her to his friend's dinner where his mother announces she is losing her battle with cancer. Maddie overhears Gavin and his mother discussing her last wishes. She decides that they can help each other out. She could marry him and be a loving wife until his mother dies and in return he could pay her half a million dollars which she could use to help her family and give her career the boost it needs.
Gavin is horrified by her proposition and has a low opinion of her. However his mom's failing help and last wish makes him finally agree. Gavin and Maddie pretend they are in love and get married. Somehow though the pretending might be turning real.
This is a good book but I wasn't too thrilled with the shallow heroine. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Maddie overhead Mona and Gavin about her cancer and her last wish.
Maddie has an offer to help them both out , for a half a million , she will be his fake fiance and she has money for herself and help her parents and younger brother . Gavin's mother's dying wish is to see her son married before she dies. Gavin is a billionaire and has no intention of getting married. He sold his father's shipping company to pay for his mother's medical expenses and is content just to spend time with her and his boat. He still has billions but money is not that important to him. His childhood friend Maddie overheard his mother say that her only wish was to see him married before she dies. So she offers to play the role of fake fiance for half a million dollars. He is outraged and thinks she 's a gold digger. His mother loves Maddie so he really has no choice if he wants to make his Mother happy. Gavin and Maddie got off to a rocky start as he does not think she has any substance and is concerned about money and trivial things. The chemistry is amazing between them and in many ways they help each other grow and learn what is important in life. No spoiler here but I'll says it's a great book that might may you shed a tear or too. I received an arc copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Gavin and Maddie are the main characters in this novel. Gavin has a mother who is dying and wants to see him married. Maddie struggles with her actress carrier and needs money. They make a deal that she has to play his fiance.
I had to read a few chapters because the story started out slow but then it caught me. Both main characters have big trust issues and that makes them struggle to go on in their lives and have relationships. They are childhood friends and knows a lot about each other which makes it a bit easier for them. The chemistry between them is so hot and steamy scenes comes out of it. The novel has drama, twists and turns, emotions and makes you think about what is the main thing in life.
I can only recommend this sweet romance novel.

I LOVED Gavin and Maddie's story and its emotional rollercoaster had me tearing up, scorching mad and laughing within a few pages. Yes,
Maddie is fake and unlikeable to begin with but we soon see that she grows and learn there is more to life than what she is aiming for and with the realisation that money doesn't buy you happiness it's thus revelation that begins to see her develop.

I loved Gavin from the start. He isn't your typical rich play boy that many author write but a man who is loving, caring and generous if only he can learn to trust. Together these two make a great pair and by the end you are so glad for their HEA.

Claire Adam's has once again produced a story that's worth reading and one that will stick with you long after you have finished it.

4.5 stars Excellent contemporary billionaire romance. Gavin lost his father years ago. When his mother was diagnosed with cancer he sold his dad's company to insure the best treatments for his mom. Gavin was close to his parents and his best friend, Ron. Ron's cousin Maddie came for a visit and reconnected with Gavin and his mom. His mom's one wish was to we Gavin happily married. Maddie took advantage of that and offered to be his take fiance for a price. Through most of the story Gavin was very hard on Maddie. Maddie felt a lot of guilt about her proposition with Gavin. There are touches of humor, anger, hurt, sadness and joy. It took a while in the story to realize why Maddie chose to act the way she did. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.

Two things I would change to make this book better. First, Gavin should have still been running his fathers business- I really did not think someone would sell a family business for billions to pay for his mothers medical bills. If the company was worth all that money why would they need to sell? It bothered me that he was only rich because his father who passed away grew a business. The second thing I would change is develop the story line between Gavin and Maddie so that although she agreed to be the fake fiancee for money you knew they had formed an interest beforehand. After all, his best friend was her cousin. I would think that they probably encountered each other along the way. Although these things hindered the story for me, it was a nice story of self sacrifice for those you love.

Maddie needs money, she hears about Gavins plight and offers to do it for half a million dollars. Gavin's mum loves Maddie so he has no choice, but he thinks Maddie is a gold digger and does not like her

This is a beautifully written, and at times emotional romance story. I love the chemistry between Maddie and Gavin and how their relationship grows. The writer really draws the reader in and you feel for both characters. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it, I think this is my favourite Claire Adams story to date

This was a good story about Gavin's mom only having so much time before she passes and her wish is for her son to have a wife and too be happy. Maddie has the solution as comes up with being Gavin's fake fiancée for a price. Gavin is angry about Maddie taking advantage of the situation but Gavin wants his mom to be happy. Gavin was a real jerk too Maddie when it was clear she wanted more. Both have been hurt before but when real feeling develop can Gavin get passed how they started out. I didn't like Gavin at first, I get why he was pissed at Maddie but he had too see how genuine she really was. Good story with very sad parts but the ending was really sweet.

Wow. This is not just a love story or fake fiance story. Claire Adams pulls all your emotions out and leaves you in a puddle. I am not ashamed to say that I cried more than a few tears in reading this book. But, it was worth it! Such a good story of fa1miky, passion, loss and betrayl. Faking to be real

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book and will definitely recommend it to anyone. It's a sad book but worth reading. Gavin's mother is dying of cancer and all she wants is to make sure her son is taking care of by someone who loves him when she's gone. She makes him promise to be married before she dies. Madeline hears his promise and offers to be his fake wife for a price. This makes Gavin mad but he does it. They just don't know that doing this is going to costs them more than the money he's going to pay to Maddie. I cried, laughed and cheered reading this book. Great book!

Excellent story.
Gavin's mother only has 6 months to live and her dying wish is for Gavin to get married.
Maddie offers to be a fake wife for Gavin to grant his mother's wish. Only she want half a million dollars to do it
Gavin is a total jerk through most of this book, and treats Maddie awfully.
Maddie takes it because she feels extremely guilty for wanting money off him in the first place.
But by the end of the book they both realise how much they actually love one another.
They get their happy ending even though Gavin's mother died
A great story by a excellent author.

Although I read every single page, this is not a favorite of mine. There are a couple of chapters that are very well written though, the chapter when Gavins' mother passed, the very last chapter & the epilogue so I couldn't give it less than 3 stars. :) I did not like Gavin, he was mean and hateful to Madeline, no I didn't agree with how she propositioned him either but he took it way too far & I think she let her career aspirations mislead her. I really like her parents too, there's just so much sadness and not enough love and happiness to outweigh those emotions. The beginning also seemed to drag a bit too long before the plot was initiated.

I really loved this book. The MC Gavin and Maddie were well developed and they just "fit" together as a couple. Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster of emotions with this book. Ms. Adams takes you through the story weaving in friendship, anger, love, lust and hot panty melting sex. She also throws in there a good dose of quilt, cruelty and forgiveness. You also see humor and extreme tenderness. I highly recommend this book as it is a great "cannot put down" book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. The story between Maddie and Gavin is so very beautiful. When life throws you into a world of obstacles, sometimes people can't cope but these two were able to see it through to the end where love won. The book is written well, you will see the characters at their best and at their worst. You will see the love that people can have for one another that is absolutely beautiful. You will cry and then you will laugh so have those tissues handy. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Touching

Seeing a loved one battle with cancer, watching it eat at them is horrible and tough. What most don't know, the one dying looks at their loved ones and sees how the cancer is eating away at them too. Although a painful topic, a cold beginning to Maddie and Gavin's relationship, you do get a happy ending. Proofreading had a few glitches, cover was good and overall quality writing from this author.

I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. His is a great frenemies to lovers type book. Though frenemies is probably not the right word to describe Gavin and Maddie's relationship in the beginning. The characters are likable and their story is sweet. Both are portrayed in a good light even with the misunderstandings. Recommended!

"Nothing is impossible". Those are definitely words to live by. This book is so emotional and it banks on just that quote. The characters and storyline are some of the best I've read in this series and I couldn't put it down for a moment. Backfire!

OK! Great book had me crossing my toes that one party wouldn't actually say what they were thinking, and then they did. These characters got themselves into such a mess, I really didn't think they would get it right. So happy they finally managed. I couldn't put it down, honestly, even when I was a crying mess myself. Additional stories had me going as well. Kudos Ms Adams.

Good romance with the fake fiancee theme. Gavin and Maddie are in a position to help each other out, and along the way they find out things about each other they didn't expect. Such a wonderful story. So sad. I wasn't a big fan of Gavin at the beginning after the way he treated Maddie, but I felt for him after reading the rest of the story. Loved him by then. He just didn't want to get close to anyone since everyone he ever cared for ended up leaving. Him and Maddie really were great together. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
