The perfect book to read while on vacation in Alaska. It is the story of Zhoh (a wolf puppy), and her connection with the first people who inhabit the Arctic tundra. A story that provides insight into life as it was 14,000 years ago... a story of family relationships, segregation, intrigue and betrayal, and the unique inter-connectedness between the animals, the land, and the humans who relied on them to sustain life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Honestly, I did not know what to expect from this read, especially after I only partly enjoyed this author’s other work of non-fiction. However, I found this to be a real page-turner! Many relatable themes explored, from family ties to working as a community to faith in oneself to overcoming fears and so many more! A wonderful piece of fiction that explores a unique time in human history.
