I enjoyed reading this to help me have new perspectives(Biblical)in how to pray over my husband and our marriage. It also helped me to see new perspectives for my own life which help me to want to continue to be the wife God has called me to be. I think it’s a good book to help guide a stronger prayer life(alongside the Bible)in praying for your spouse and marriage. I won’t say this is a “fix all” to deeper issues that marriages can face, but it’s definitely a good guideline and place to start in any place your marriage may be.

This book is meant for every Christian wife who wants to improve her marriage. I found the tone to be uplifting and inspiring, and I enjoyed the wise, honest stories from the author’s long marriage.

Bruce Wilkinson teaches that a wife’s prayers for her husband are powerful agents of change. I have read many valuable books on praying for your husband, and I found a unique perspective in this book. Wilkinson writes about the wife’s “mantle,” or her important responsibility to minister to her husband through prayer. As a wife you are gifted and equipped as a helper, just like Eve was for Adam. One of a wife’s primary, yet often undervalued, roles of helping is through prayer.

Wilkinson writes, "Her prayers to help her husband are in the very center of God’s will! Not only is God pleased, but He responds to her with His help."

This is very encouraging news for a wife who feels trapped in an unhappy marriage. I’ve been there before, and I know the transformative power of prayer in a difficult marriage. Prayer gives you an action step when nothing else seems to be working.

Wilkinson reveals five secrets behind the wife’s mantle, which changed my thinking. I now feel empowered in a new way to invite godly changes into our challenging marriage through the power of prayer.

I love this quote: "Wives are God’s human partner to help mature and maximize their husband[s]."

The second half of this book is chock full of prayer prompts for every imaginable area of your marriage and husband’s life. You will receive many calls to action in areas you probably haven’t considered before. That’s what makes this book so transformative, and the best part is it’s all biblically based.

I highly recommend this book to all wives, but especially wives struggling in a difficult marriage. There is hope for all our marriages, and the door to that hope is prayer.

The prayers in this book are fantastic. I would caution the reader against quick fixes and thinking this book will solve all of your marital problems. We all have free will and until both husband and wife submit to God our marriages will remain unchanged. I recommend this book solely for the prayers.

Man, has this book been a game changer. It's not long at all, kind of unassuming. The first third of the book (literally, 33% on my Kindle) lays the foundation of prayer for your husband and how to go about it. The last two-thirds are specific prayers for different areas of his life and your life together, with room for making it "yours". For those familiar with it, this second part is a little like the Book of Common Prayer in having some prayers written out for you and then space/guidance for you to pray your own.
At the author’s recommendation, I have a journal for my prayers for my husband/us. I find I am praying more often, more specifically, and that my prayers are more rooted in scripture. This is a serious win.

Small heads-up: My only concern as I read this book was an unusual interpretation of 1 Peter 3:7, which says, “You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.” The author noted that the word “your” at the end is plural in the Greek, and since it is plural that it means that both a husband’s AND wife’s prayers may be hindered if he is not conducting himself rightly in the marriage. I disagree; I believe it is plural because Peter is addressing “husbands” here - more than one. So he tells them to treat their wives well so that “y’all’s prayers will not be hindered.” 😉

This is still a five-star book. I’ve been reading it for months now because it’s become a wonderful reference for me to “jump start” a prayer on any given situation he or we may be facing. I’m grateful for it and recommend it to anyone wanting to cover their husband in prayer.

Having the role of the wife comes in many forms but the one that is most prevalent and in today's culture not politically correct is that of the helper. I so much appreciated that this role is not a second class but one that is valued. As a helper, we play an important role the life of our husband. One of those is praying. Are your prayers for your husband general in nature? This text and guide will give you much to think about as you pray for your husband. The goal of any prayer is the glory of God and that in turns helps us to love our husbands well.

The text comes in two parts "The Mantle of a Wife's Prayer and Taking on the Mantle of Prayer.

The first part lays the foundation of the mantle that you are given and the second part leads you into prayer from all things character to the work your husband is in. His well being and all the responsibilities that come with being a husband and father.

If anything this reminds me how much my husband needs my prayers.

Should be required reading for wives

Anytime you pray for your husband, you are shifting the atmosphere in your marriage. Even if you are stuck and perhaps not wanting to, it helps. This book explains and gives examples of prayers for you - so even when you don’t have the words to pray, you can pray what you are reading and thus pour into your marriage and strengthen it - no matter how strong it is.

At its heart this book is about the richness of life that comes from abiding in Christ alone.

The more I read, studied & prayed, the harder Satan worked to stir things up. Many times along the way I considered (ever so briefly) abandoning the book altogether. However, I realized that doing so would place my prayer life & my marriage in a precarious position. So I kept at it.

I will definitely be referring back to the prayers in this book in the years to come.

Powerful prayer guide

One of my favorite books on prayer for my husband. It covers areas that you may not think about covering in prayer as it pertains to marriage, communication, and even includes blessings you can decree over your husband. With the Bible being the main tool needed for your prayer life, I would also highly recommend you add this book to your prayer arsenal.

Excellent book to encourage us to pray to for our husbands. God helped me to see that as I'm praying for him, I can ask God to help me be the wife that God-created me to be.
