It’s hard to rate a book that I know has yummy looking recipes, but they just won’t work for my family. Many have tree nuts in them or some other allergen my son can’t have. There were quite a few recipes with ingredients I had never purchased before and wouldn’t even know where to purchase them. I love that the recipes give you options to keep the meat or ways to change it and make it vegetarian or vegan.

Not really close to being vegetarian. To make the meals vegetarian you need to adapt the recipes to remove the meat and seafood. And if you want them plant-based, as the introduction says many are, you'd have to also remove all the oil, dairy, eggs, etc. This would be more accurately titled flexitarian.
