Hidden somewhere beyond the highest clouds is the castle of Destino, a school for very special students. They’re the Melowies, little unicorns born with a symbol on their wings and a hidden magical power.
But Destino is also a place where friendships are born, where the Melowies find their courage, and where they learn their path to growing up. Five of the students are Clio, Kora, Maia, Selene, and Electra. And the time destined for them to meet has now arrived.
This book is the first one that motivates my seven-year-old to do the work of decoding words. The plot for me is completely ho-hum. (Okay. So the cliffhanger in the epilogue hooked me a leeeeetle bit.) But she is riveted and has become a better reader as a result. Thanks, Melowies.
{My thoughts} – I am always interested in finding new beginner chapter books. I ran across these gems and I just had to read them. This first book is about setting the storyline up for the previous books. Helps by introducing you to the characters and where most the story will take please.
This book is about four young Pegasus especially that are called Melowies. They are called thus because they are born with a symbol on their wings and gave a hidden magical power.
Cora, Maya, Selena and Electra all set out to the castle of destiny where they take an entrance exam to see if they are worthy of attending the school. Cleo another Pegasus not a Melowy lives there because she was left on the door step. It turns out that these five end up taking the exam together.
If you’d like to see what happens you’ll have to read the book. I enjoyed it and look forward to the next in the series. The illustrations on the pages match the words within perfectly and help to paint an incredible visual image of the world of Aura for the readers.
My little pony (yo jajaja).
I'm a bit surprised I haven't added this to my books yet, Miss Six and I have read it before. That said, it's nothing overly special. The characters are carbon copies of the troops they represent. there doesn't seem to be a lot of conflict; standard school shenanigans considering it's a castle floating in the air with alicorns running amok. It even didn't appeal to miss six so much. she didn't mind it, but we've read more books with more meat to them that she's been a lot more into. still, we have access to the next 2 books in the series so lets see how it goes now we've been introduced to everyone
I loved this books. It deserved a 5 star rating because of it wonderful story. I highly recommend this book as fit for all ages. it is full of fiction, thrilling and a lots of effort. Loved this book.
This was way different then I thought. It reminded me of "The School for Good and Evil" but with Pegasus. I enjoyed how the fluffy parts were mixed with a little ominous lines. It left on a cliffhanger and I want to know who are these dark strangers so interested in the four melowies lives.
This book is the first book in the Melowy series. My favourite part was when Cleo met the Melowys. My favourite Melowy is Selena because she likes music and I do too.
– Tutte queste pony erano già amiche all’inizio del libro? Il libro secondo te, è sull’amicizia?
Non tutte si conoscevano. Solo Clio era fuori dal gruppo all’inizio. Secondo me è sull’amicizia, e sull’aiutarsi a vicenda.
