This was a very enjoyable read overall. It did seem obvious who the villain was partway through, leaving me a little impatient. However, my impatience was overriden by the engaging writing style, the interesting characters, and the spooky little secrets and incidents.
This is a Zebra "Super Gothic" which no doubt simply refers to the larger page count (which would later become the norm for Zebra). The font is also fairly large though.
Mild general plotline spoiler: I have to note that there is a slight detour in the heroine's path before she actually reaches the main house / ranch in the story (constituting a couple extra chapters). I thought that part of the story was great as it had a pulpy Cinderella feel, but would've liked more closure to that part of the heroine's life later on in the book than what I got.
