I really enjoyed the book. It was so easy to follow and understand. I recommend this book to anyone that is serious and creative about bullet journaling
I've got several books & websites on B-Journaling but none made it clearer than this book. The author laid it out in a way that simplified what for me has been confusing, especially how to actually set up & start a bullet journal (or BuJo, as it's called by some users). With other guides, I'd understand the concepts and the components, but then be so overwhelmed that I wasn't able to get started. This book separated the basics from the set-up from the flourishes, & that made it easier to understand how to start.
I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5 because as I was reading I'd feel like I needed an example here or more detail there. And maybe a picture or a simple drawing. Unfortunately, I didn't keep track, so I'd have to reread the book to find the specifics. If I figure any of those out, I'll update this review with them.
This is the best book I've run across to begin using a BuJo. I recommend it highly!
I suppose for the Absolute beginner this would be a fine starting point. I'm a beginner, I'm 1/2 way through the original book on the topic, I've watched numerous videos, and have even set up my Bujo. I had some lingering questions like what to do with daily thoughts and ideas. There's plenty written on tasks and activities, but I was still a bit confused with how to pull together thoughts and ideas. I guess these can be brought together in “collections”. I suppose the point is, even still just a beginner, I feel like I could've written this, but if you know absolutely nothing, this would be a reasonable starting place at a low price.
I liked this book because it is exactly what it says it is, a quick overview of the basics of "Bullet Journaling." I have looked at other books on the subject and they have been repetitious, cutesy or just plain too long. Bailey's short book gets right to the basics so you can be using them right away. You can pick and choose what features you use, customize and keep it simple or complicated. The author does a good job of encouraging you to make your journal your own, adapting it to your needs. All in all it was worth the read.
This book was easy to read and understand. I really like how the author too the time to explain each section enough that I am able to comfortably make my bullet journal my own. I really enjoyed this book, I actually finished reading the entire book without skipping pages.
I would have given this book 2 or 3 stars when I first read it. After reading 3 or 4 other books on bullet journaling I came back to this book and I appreciated the author's ideas and suggestions. Not sure this book would be of much use to someone who is new to bullet journaling.
I found this book to be informative. All the information to start a basic bullet journal is here. Extra spreads can be found all over the internet (Pinterest comes to mind), but the bones of it are here. Happy journaling!
Short, concise, and to the point. Decent, albeit much shorter, version of the real deal. I do feel like the reasoning behind bullet journaling is important, and that is what's missing here
This is a quick read that provides a high level overview of how to start and use a bullet journal. If you are interested in doing a bullet journal this is a worthwhile read.
This book would have been a lot more helpful if he had actually shown us examples — say taken us through a real item like say dance class or something — it was a quick read— really glad I did I spend any money on it
Seems like a lot of work I need something way more minimal and simplistic I wish I had the time and energy to do this Not for a person with a type b personality
There are some annoying mistakes in the book, does somebody reread this book? Personally I would like to see some examples, some pictures of BJ's, pages,... The ideas are good, but their should be something more.
