YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! Oh thank you Diana Gardin for this one!!! I have loved all the books in the Rescue Ops series, but this one melted my heart in ways you can't even imagine. A story about acceptance, appreciation, respect and deep love. Bennett, a tough and rugged man who has lived hard and rough, with a special forces background that would make most weak in the knees just knowing the things that he has done. Sayward, a computer hacker who knows less of the social world, but acutely aware of how to use her computer skills to assist her team on very dangerous missions that help others. These two become acquainted when Bennett becomes a part of the rescue team that Sayward is working for. Immediately, Bennett is attracted to Sayward because of her beauty but it goes a little deeper than that for him. He recognizes something "different" about her that compels him to not only protect her, when she is put in danger, but to know her on a more personal level. Without giving too much away, Sayward has, what I would call an exceptionality. She doesn't read social cues well, doesn't feel competent in social groups or activities, struggles to understand emotions and how they should be related to certain situations or actions, but what she does understand, is the inner workings of a computer and how to achieve "anything" when using it for her work and her team. Having sad that, it is important to know that she is extremely smart, and because of this, she is able to realize that her pull to Bennett is something new. So new that she wants to learn more so she can define it to understand why she "feels" something. As with any rescue ops story, there is the danger and suspense that causes the team again to assist one of their own, Sayward. She is thrust into a horrible situation, one that has haunted her dreams as a child but has now become her present situation. How Sayward is able to handle this tragic event is amazing. Her trust for Bennett and the team and her own growth as a person has allowed her to react to this situation now as an adult in a much more confident manner. This confidence comes from the pull of her feelings for Bennett. The relationship that develops between Bennett and Sayward is not only heart warming, but so sweet and caring, as well as very intense. Only if we all could find a Bennett in our lives. Understanding, patient, willing to learn, accepting, loving, respectful, nonjudgmental and truly selfless. His desire to know Sayward and how their love evolves is a beautiful thing and touches your heart on so many levels. Sayward opens like a flower and it is abolutely breathtaking to read about. Her absolute trust in Bennett and her desire to learn from and with him is almost too much at times. This is a story that really needs to be read!! Thank you so much Diana Gardin for this one! As a teacher of expceptionalities, I commend you on your research and your portrayal of Sayward and her journey. Spot on!!! I also applaud you for Bennett's character and his approach to her and the relationship. It's a story of learning and an awareness for us about those who might be among us. An appreciation for differences, and an understanding that ALL of us can love and be loved if the right person comes into your life!! What a beautiful story of finding the right person and loving them despite anything else!!! A must read!!! I read this ARC in return for an honest review!! HOMERUN DIANA!!!
