One of the better installments in the Grizzly Ridge series. I liked the fact that Dean fought the mating with Trigger. Made the story a bit more realistic. Well as realistic as these stories get anyways. I think my biggest problem was the fact that the series pretty much jumped the shark when the evil thought to exist only in folklore and legends showed up. Still I enjoyed the story and am interested to read Walker’s story next.

I'm glad I'm almost done cus the loose ends and they way they are being tied up... Kind of why am I subjecting myself to this mess? As much as I dislike and disbelieve I really don't like leaving stuff unfinished so I'm gonna finish this and be done.

This edition lets add something that SOUNDS like vampires (hey do these uncivilived.. ANIMALS that transform into human even thou they spend MORE time as human and sure as hell act like, well like human and animal..do they know about vampire lore? Well, they actually do, even though strong impression that they are very isolated in the mountains and barely do town excursions).

Actually at first my thought was somehow the dead sheriff has risen again... Not quite but the premise is there.. but of course they are just NOW being noticed and being a problem. Yes you are reading that right as sarcasm, and if not well it is.

Here's the low-down. Dean goes back to Washington with Trigger and tells the FBI that he was attacked (by a vamp in reality) by a bear and Shefiff and FBI Nolen were killed by bear. They of course are suspicious and Dean falls off the grid (see pregnant mate short delivery time so no time to wait out an investigation) and they hightail it back to mountains. So now 2 deaths have been handled. Leaving the ex lover who happens to be Sheriff's nephew as an unaccounted missing (dead) person. Oh and babies.. Benny and Dean.. although no Elijah.. even though Elijah preggers before Dean if not by much.

The funny thing is I think Dean is the best one out of the mates..

3.7 Stars Denying Mate

How do you keep a mate when he is determined to escape? A mate who'd been held against his will and left for a Bear snack. FBI agents sent to investigate the disappearance of the Grizzly Ridge sheriff. Now his partner is also missing. Agent Dean denies that men can turn into Bears. He must have been delusional, especially after the ordeal he's endured. But then one of the men sent to guard him "bites" him instead. WTF?! Then he gets untied. What did any reasonable person expect him to do except run.

Unfortunately for Dean, the Bears, and other mountain residents - there is something rotten& enraged on either mountain. How can Trigger keep control of his mate, when he doesn't believe in forcing Dean to stay? But he wants to keep his ever trying escape artist mate safe. And his brother Bears, their mates, & shifter neighbor, as well from a full on assault by federal agents looking for their missing men or because of Dean telling the FBI that the "Bears" killed one of their Feds and a sheriff.

Trigger was in a real quandary. Previously very close to their now Alpha brother Clint, Trig knew he couldn't tell him or his other brothers what he planned to do. This was based on how much he cared for his mate. If only his strong feelings were returned instead of rebuffed, even after the morning sickness began.

Dean categorically refused to believe a man could get pregnant. It just wasn't possible! Neither was shifting into animals. Those other two guys who weren't Rising brothers, but boyfriends weren't pregnant - just...fat. This stubborn disbelief continued until something rotten crawled out of the bowels of the mountain. Something way worse than a pregnant man or shifters or even dead law enforcement officers. Something so terrify it meant leaving would certainly turn into a fate much worse than a quick death by Bear attack.

Sometimes the smartest thing to do is the lesser of two evils. But just how smart was Dean the Denier?

5 dari 6 Rising bros, yg masih mikir pake akal dan bukan pake nafsu kayanya Trigger doang. Yah meskipun pas pertama kali ketemu si Trigger udah nge-claim Dean tp Trigger ga langsung memaksakan dirinya ke Dean tp dia menunggu sampai Dean yg yg menyerahkan dirinya dengan suka rela. Hebatnya lagi si Trigger ga memaksakan Dean untuk tetap tinggal sm dia tp menyerahkan keputusan seutuhnya ke Dean. Sedangkan Dean juga hebat, bisa menahan instingnya ke Trigger meskipun akhirnya luluh juga.

Di sini bisa dilihat pertentangan batin yg terjadi sm Dean (yg merupakan agen FBI) antara mau nangkep Rising bros atau membiarkan mereka bebas dan juga apakah Dean mau tetap tinggal sm Trigger atau balik ke kota asalnya dia. Terlihat banget sakit hatinya Trigger pada saat dia mau melepas Dean dan itu bikin terharu.

Hal yg menarik adalah Rising bros dan para shifters yg lain mendapat musuh baru dan musuh barunya itu menyeramkan ditambah pas aku baca buku ini waktu malem2, jadi tambah sereeemm. Kayaknya musuh ini bakal muncul lagi di serie yg lain secara musuh nya ini ga semuanya mati.

Nice

3.5 stars....Dean was a bit annoying but other than that this was a nice read... I liked Trigger as well and the plot was fine as well ... Off to book 6
