Author M.A. Lee’s Chasing Us is a new adult friends-to-lovers romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the story line of two friends heading off on a road trip with the purpose of pursuing their career dreams.
Leigh narrates Chasing Us; her low self-esteem takes another hit when she discovers that her fiancé has been unfaithful. It is easy to empathize with Leigh’s situation; however, her negativity and pessimism are hard to take. Juxtapose to her is Brandon. His positive, upbeat attitude is infectious! Combine that with his good looks, talent and loyalty, and you’ve got a keeper! He has had a thing for Leigh from the time we met. When Leigh fell for his best friend, he was supportive of that relationship…until his friend broke her heart.
Chasing Us is a quick, easy read. The plot is uncomplicated, and it is well paced. The story is about self-discovery, chasing your dreams, and finding love. Leigh discovers that someone worthy of her love is supportive and encouraging. The story conflict/angst comes mainly in the form of Leigh’s self-doubts and people suggesting that Brandon is a womanizer. The naysayers, including a complete stranger, all too easily influence her. However, that does allow the author to send young women the message of not taking a backseat to their boyfriend’s aspirations.
The problems and conflicts are easily solved, and the accomplishments are easily won. This makes the story rather simple. Exploring some real life challenges that budding musicians and authors face would have given the story some depth. Additionally, the inclusion of BDSM scenes was unrealistic and unnecessary (who packs sex toys on a road trip with a friend?), and it detracted from the otherwise sweet romance. Engaging characters and a crisp, to-the-point plot makes Chasing Us a good palate-cleansing read.

This is a contemporary romance with some steamy hot scenes. The characters are well developed with distinctive personalities complete with strengths and weaknesses. These dynamic characters draw you into the story and keep you interested until the end. The emotional drama is mainly due Leigh’s lack of self confidence. As she tries to deal with her perceived limitations, the two main characters fight to go for their individual dreams while trying to accept the love growing between them. This is also a story about growing up and deciding how you want to live your life.
The storyline flows smoothly and quickly. The narrative highlights the character’s personalities and is well written. You can feel the emotions through the writing. The sexual scenes were well described and with the exception of the kinky scene fit well into the flow of the story. I enjoyed this book a lot and would recommend it.

Very good story about Leigh, Jamie and Brandon. Once you start to read it you will not be able to put it down. Jamie cheats on Leigh, Brandon has been in love with her forever but is Jamie's best friend and backs off to let him have her. Once Jamie and Leigh break up this is his chance to get her. They both set off on a trip to obtain their dream. One almost loses themselves to let the other chase theirs. They learn who they truly are and how two people can love one another even in their faults. Both of them at the end are able to know who they truly are, know how strong their love is and reach both their dreams.
M.A. Lee is an amazing writer and will have you from the first word. She knows how to hook her readers and keep you coming back for more. I look forward to reading more of her books.

Falling for your best friend can be the most scariest chance you take but also the most rewarding. This is Leigh and Brandon's story in Leigh's POV. Leigh and Brandon go one a trip that leaves them spending a lot of time together, not only figuring their own selves out but also getting to see what the other person is really like. This friendship is changing but can the characters be brave enough to take the chance on more? This was an entertaining story to read that kept me turning the pages and interested in finding out just what was in store for these two. Enjoy!

I didn't know anything about this book when i started it but wanted to give it a go, so with an open mind I started it and i was drawn in straight away. I loved it and haven't read anything like it before. I loved the concept of the road trip to find themselves after Leigh he been cheated on by her fiancé and finding out at her 21st after hearing a conversion she wasn't meant to hear! His best friend takes it upon himself to look after her when he sees her listening to him shouting at her fiancé to tell her what he'd been up to! I loved the emotion coming through in every page. She had lived her life for everyone else and now she'd been thrown a lifeline to follow her dreams and for once she was going to do it! I read the whole book in one go which lead to a very late night of 3.15am! It was well worth it though and i must admit I even cried when I was reading it, you feel like you know them and you just want Brandon and Leigh to fulfill their dreams together. He's always wanted her but she can't believe he'd want her when he can have anyone. You want to shake her at times but she needs to work it out herself in her own way, she needs to learn that not everyone will cheat on her the way Jamie did. It's a beautiful love story with I'd recommend to everyone, but be warned you'll need to make a space in your routine because you'll want to read all of it when you pick it up. I've just finished breaking boundaries and that was as good as chasing us and I can't wait to read more from M.A. Lee I hope she goes far! It was a brilliant book which you can tell she's poured her heart and soul into.

The summer they go to Nashville to shoot for their artistic dreams. Brandon as a songwriter/musician and Leigh as a writer.
They discover their attraction for one another and act apon it. Will they stay together?
Will they go back to college?
A must read. I was interesting. I found them both believable.
I highly recommend this book.
I can't wait to read more books by the author.

I love love love this story
Love the story line of brandon and leigh. It was a rocky start. The best of friends trying to follow their dreams and support each other after heart ache. More so leighs, but brandon jad to watch jee from the side line. Together each oglf them trsvel fron Kentucky to Tennessee.. then to Texas and end in La.. lots of laughter, haooiness, saddness and love.

I've read several books written by M.A. Lee; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.

This is the second book I've read by MA LEE. There's a feel-good vibe to her writing and the romance is tender and sweet with just the right amount of steam. This story made me want to pack my bags and drive out...if only....
