The tourist season is upon Calgon, Florida. Melissa is very busy and looking to hire a new employee to help out with deliveries. After a prominent citizen dies, his wife demands all of the businesses from which he ate that day be inspected. She won’t allow an autopsy, but is looking for someone to blame for his death. Missy owns one of those businesses. The health inspector appears to have something against Missy and cites her with a long list of minor issues and closes the store down.
Fiona continues to be stalked by an unknown person who is seemingly dangerous. Her boss knows who the creeper is, but won’t tell the police. Instead he takes information to Chas and Spencer and asks them to help protect Fiona.
Izza heads to New York and refuses to answer Spencer’s calls and text messages. Will their relationship survive her latest attack of suspicion. Her brash publisher is most concerned with the completion of her next book, but sends her back to Florida to clean up her unfinished business.
This book has moments that flat out scared me. Tim’s past is back to haunt him and she is frightening. To me, Fiona’s storyline is a standout in this series. It left me with some unanswered questions. The plot moves at a steady pace and you don’t want to but the book down, unless you’re like me and it scares you into taking a break. The characters are well-developed and come to life. You must read all of the books with Tim’s story in them. It really puts things together for you if you haven’t read outside this series. I recommend all of Summer Prescott’s books.
