What?!!! No one get killed in this book?

The boss is away in UK and Millie has to act as a capable cruise director. She is more than nervous when she learns that a group of "special guests" is going to be on board.

Right away a piece of art is stolen and Andy is accused of stealing it.

The way Brenda accuses Andy and Millie of stealing artworks and the way Millie responds is very unprofessional and childlike. Like children accusing each other and having a row.

Even though there is no dead body this book is still a fun to read!

One of the best in the series

I have enjoyed reading all the books in this series, even though the details in some of the events in some of the cases were highly improbable. I like most of the people in most of the stories, and even though there are many unusual individuals, that is not improbable because working on a cruise ship is likely to be attractive to many more off beat individuals than a lot of more ordinary jobs. The sea has always been a haven for those who are restless or outside of the ordinary. Even though the isolation of life in a small self-contained environment like a ship could in other circumstances breed high pressure for conformity in a safer place, the perils of being on a ship during a storm in the vast ocean has bred a tolerance for difference as long as the necessary work of keeping the ship operating safely is reliably accomplished. So seafarers have been a strange and motley crew to landlubbers since mankind first ventured out of sight of land and returned after reaching new and different cultures. There are other venues where performance is more important than conformity with community norms and adventurers are essential and not merely tolerated. But the sea has been one of the major havens of bold, multi-talented nonconformists for thousands of years, and it still is, and probably will be for centuries more. Only when mankind starts colonizing distant planets is mankind likely to face a more alien and challenging environment that demands a highly adaptable group of rugged individuals united only by the demands of survival.

So someone with Millie's interpersonal skills and nonjudgemental acceptance of a wide variety of different ways of being human, while at the same time appearing ordinary and reassuringly normal to the cruise ship passengers, is a perfect match to the setting of the series. This more than makes up for the minor flaws in some of the details of some of the other books. But in this book I did not find any places where I was momentarily pulled out of the story by knowing that a particular incident was sufficiently unlikely that I had to remind myself that this is just a story and not the real world so the author is allowed to happen to have a convenient person with just the right special skills on the spot at the exact moment that those skills are needed, or have an unusually rapid and severe response to a spider bite, as happened in the first book in this series. Of course fear of spiders is strong enough in enough people that even in the book with the unusually dangerous spider bite, only a few reviews mentioned that the death by spider bite was not likely to have occurred as described. I mentioned it in my review but praised the book anyhow because the book depicted human interactions so well, which is what is most important to me in enjoyable fiction.

In this book we continue to get very interesting and realistic depiction of unusual but very believable real human beings, and believable circumstances as well.

I tend to reserve five stars ratings for books that I will want to read and savor over and over again because they are so richly rewarding that I get new insights into human nature on the third reading and even more insights on the fifth reading. But if I was rating this book on a scale of zero to ten, this book would be a nine, not a seven or eight. I will enjoy rereading it at least once more, even knowing the ending, and will enjoy seeing how the author created a well crafted book where the ending seems logical once you get there, but it was not an ending that was easy to guess well in advance.

Each book in the series can be read and enjoyed in any order, without the author going into lengthy background explanations that bore people who read the series in order. But the series is even more enjoyable when you do read the books in order because the characters develop from book to book, learning from experience and getting to know and trust each other, and becoming friends. The author does an unusually good job of creating extraordinary people that are extraordinary when you get to know them better but who are ordinary people under ordinary circumstances and have believable but unusual talents that only show up when difficult circumstances call for them. Probably some of your good friends are braver or kinder or more patient or more resourceful than the average person but you have not yet seen that side of them because you have not yet been with them in circumstances where that talent was needed. This author makes it easy to accept that there is more depth to most of her characters than is obvious on first acquaintance. Too many authors of popular fiction write flat, trite characters or unbelievably unusual ones, and concentrate on the action to carry the story. This author creates dynamic believable characters who drive the action in the story because they refuse to be passive victims of circumstance. They create their destiny by choosing to rise above what happens around them

High Seas Heist is the tenth book in Hope Callaghan’s awesome Cruise Ship Christian Cozy Mysteries Series and it’s a wonderful, clean cozy mystery that doesn’t contain any adult situations, violence, or harsh language. The story line is well thought out and the characters are affable. There’s an interesting mystery to solve, lots of activity, humor, and compassion. The book flows at a steady pace and there are plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well-crafted cozy mystery.

The upgrades and renovations have been completed and the Siren of the Seas is ready to leave dry dock. Millie Sanders, the assistant cruise director, is looking forward to being back on the open seas but feeling a little unsure and overwhelmed because Andy Walker, the cruise director, has taken an emergency leave and left her in charge. When Millie learns that Ted Danvers, Majestic Cruise Lines’ CEO, and his family will be sailing with them, she knows the pressure will be on everyone to ensure a smooth and uneventful week. Taking on Andy’s responsibilities is stressing her out and then she learns that the Danvers are making multiple demands and requesting changes in the cruise’s activity schedule. As if all this weren’t enough, she’s told that Danvers’ son, Teddy (aka Teddy the Terrible), has a reputation as a troublemaker. Millie finds that she has her hands full keeping her staff under control, making adjustments to the activity schedule, monitoring the Danvers’ activities, and then Brenda Parcore, who runs the art gallery, reports stolen artwork. Brenda accuses Andy and Millie of the thefts and Millie is determined to find the true culprit and clear their names.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

My favourite of the series - High Seas Heist is the tenth book and is a well-paced story with an interesting mystery to solve as well as lots of activity, fun, and a chance o reconnect with "old friends" in Annette, Cat & Danielle.
Millie is left in charge when her boss has to take some unexpected leave, and she is run ragged from the start with one problem after another, and not least because the CEO of the cruise line has announced he will be joining the cruise with his partner and son. Hoping for an uneventful cruise, Millie finds herself inundated with issues and problems. From stolen artworks to a troublesome teen, Millie has her hands full simply treading water, and things only get worse when the art gallery manager seems to think she is involved in the theft of priceless pieces of art.
A hugely entertaining read, including fabulously funny scenes with Annette posing as a rich client in clothes "acquired" from the ship's laundry, as well as the overarching question around Millie's pending marriage to Captain Amati. If the couple want to continue working together, they'll need the CEO's support - but that seems unlikely, at least in the early days of the voyage. Can Millie and her friends turn things around, find the stolen art and its thief and get the CEO's permission to continue working together after their marriage?

Andy has to leave to help his mom and leaves Millie in charge of the entertainment. She has Danielle has her help and what could go wrong besides her nerves. Art missing from the gallery and the manager think Andy and Millie are involved. With no way for Andy to clear his name, the girls get started.

Someone in the gallery has to be responsible and what makes matters worse, Ted Danders CEO of the cruise line is on the ship with his girlfriend and son. Nothing can go wrong as Millie wants his permission for Nic and her to stay on board after they are married.

Millie needs all the help she can get with everything going on can she do it and make Andy proud once he returns?

Another great read and there characters keep getting better and better. It is nice to see more of Nic's personality and the growth with Millie. You really get to know the crew as you read along.

Review of this book.

This book was awesome! The plot was really well thought out. The heist of valuable paintings was a change of pace. There was a lot more humor in this book. The crazy things that these ladies end up doing is over the top. At least they get the job done most of the time. Sometimes it takes more than plan A, and they have to go to plan B, and sometimes even plan C. The author gets the best ideas for these books. The series is worth all the time it takes to read these books. I am getting ready to read the last book in this series. It has been a pleasure to read this series. I cannot wait to read the last book in the series. I hope that at some future date the author writes more books for this series. Until then I will read another series of books that she has written. This author is absolutely amazing. Every book is a fantastic pleasure to read.

Another awesome Cruise Ship cozy mystery!

High Seas Heist is book #10 in the series. These are awesome Christian cozy mysteries, with everything I love in a cozy mystery - likeable interesting characters, an intriguing mystery, friendship, humor, and romance! In this book, Millie's boss Andy took some personal time away so Millie is in charge. Paintings are disappearing from the cruise ship art gallery. On top of all of that, the owners of the cruise lines are unexpected passengers. There are some laughs, some clue finding missions and no dead bodies in this one. Another awesome Christian cozy mystery!

Is Millie an art thief?

Millie is back on board and is now the temporary Entertainment Director. While she has new responsibilities she also has to find out who is stealing precious expensive art pieces from the ships art gallery. Andy as well as Millie have been accused of the thefts. Andy is not there to defend himself but Millie is. On board for this trip is the owner of the ship lines with his intended and his son. This story has lots of plots and sub plots. If you want t o know the who, what, where and why, you will have to read the 10th issue.

Love and Marriage

I'm so in love with these series, the cruise ship series being my fav, then the Savanna series and then the garden girls.. You write beautifully and have such a hard time putting the books down once I start them.. Thank you so much for enjoying what you do so magically and putting out awesome stories each time... It saddens me when I finish a book because I wait anxiously on baited breath for the next book to come out, and thankfully I don't have to wait to long before another book is released : )

Another clean book! Millie is taking over as Cruise Director of the Siren of the Sea because Andy is off to England for a couple of weeks. It so happens that the CEO of the ship line, his son and his girlfriend are coming on the cruise to check out the renovations that were made.. It seems that some expensive art was stole from the ships Art Gallery and Andy and Millie are accused of the theft. Along with all the extra work as director Millie is trying to figure out who stole the art. Look for an exciting ending for Millie and Captain Armati!!

The series continues to deliver great easy reads

The latest book has Millie filling in for her boss as cruise director while he is on leave. The art gallery has missing pieces of art and fist Andy and then Millie are accused of the theft. During this the CEO of the cruise line along with his fiancée and son are on board and demanding all sorts of changes. On top of all that Millie and the captain need to get the approval of the CEO to be able to marry and stay on the same ship. The ending was a surprise and I look forward to reading the next book

Senior super sleuth Millie is not excited to take over as Siren of the Seas cruise director. Especially with all the last minute changes due to Cruise Line's CEO and son Terrible Teddy being on board and an expensive missing painting. Well traveled Hope Callaghan weaves a well written page turning mystery with cruise details. What happens to food leftovers and scraps. They are puréed and released as fish food. Enjoy ship cruises. Then this series is for you. Excellent summer read!

High Seas Heist

Millie sets sail as the cruise director on Siren of the Sea this time. She is replacing Andy for a couple of weeks, while he has an emergency to deal with at home. She has her hands full, as well as trying to solve the mystery of who stole paintings from the art gallery. Plus the head of the cruise line and his family decides to take a cruise. Find out how things turn out in this wonderful story.

Absolutely fantastic

Love Millie. Check in with her and the ships gang as a High Seas Heist gets under way. In this case while Andy (the cat) is off the ship visiting his sick mother, Millie (the mouse) doesn't have a spare minute to breathe. She covers the ship flawlessly while watching out for the art thief and watching out over her crew. Hope Callaghan does it again. If you have ever cruised or never cruised.....catch up with Millie and the gang!

Another great story

Another great story to help me relax after a long day at work. Millie is in charge when Andy, her boss, must return home for family reasons. Too add to her insecurities of taking on these management duties, the CEO of the cruise lines and hs family is traveling with them, and artwork is missing from the onboard gallery. Millie and her friends join forces to find the art thief and keep the CEO happy.

I have basically read this entire series (17 books so far, I think)...they are fun and fluffy and clean. I love the Christian aspect, I love the CRUISING aspect, and the characters are pretty likable...
(though admittedly, I sometimes roll my eyes at Millie getting involved once more in something or someplace she has no business being---but since that is the premise of the entire series...there you have it!) Enjoyable "summer" read, all year round.

Sneaky thieves and mysterious poisoning come into play within this book.

With Andy away for two weeks, Millie takes charge and some of the new events are on hold as The Boss and his lady friend decide to redo events to suit themselves.

Stolen art is front and center and the reasons why theft was so easy comes to light as the culprit is discovered.

In the romance area not much is new but all seems apace. Wedding ceremony ahead?

The owner of the cruise line, his bimbo and a teen-aged son join the cruise for a week. Their demands have the entire crew going crazy.

Paintings from the art gallery have gone missing and both Andy (who is off in Britain looking after his ailing mother) and Millie are blamed by the woman in charge of the gallery.

Millie and the captain want the owner of the cruise line to agree to them marrying and both continuing to work on the same ship, which is against company policy.

Christian Cruise Cozy

Millie and Andy are under suspicion in a theft of artwork from the ship. Andy's away on an emergency at home, and Millie is determined to clear them both...adding to the pressure, Mr. Danvers, his girlfriend and his son are on board with ridiculous demands. Will Millie and the crew handle things with their usual aplomb? Without a doubt

Missing artwork on the high seas

Thankfully, none of the cruises I've been on can compare to the ones on which Millie and her friends work! This a test installment of their adventures had me guessing to the end about who perpetrated the heists, which is the way I like a mystery to unfold. If you prefer a mystery that keeps you guessing, you will enjoy this quick read! 😉

Absolutely love each book in this series. This book continues to provide a fun, clean read with mystery thrown in. I can't wait for the next book in this series. If you have not yet tried the Garden Girls series by Holly Callaghan, I would urge you to do so. Both series - Cruise Ship and Garden Girls are top notch and will keep you up reading until all hours. You will not be disappointed.

Very good, who done it! Not all mysteries have to involve a murder, as this book showed. This continues Millie' s career with Majestic Cruise Lines with as week as temp cruise director, the Owner of the company on board and valuable art is stolen. Very entertaining read. Well written and well edited.

There's No Sinking This Ship

I am an avid cruiser, just turned 53 &, am head-over-heals in love with all things mysterious. That said, Hope Callaghan covers all of that & more in this fast sailing series of fun, mystery & murder in a Family Friendly way of creative writing. Just like every great family vacation, you're always left wanting more.

Ted Danvers, CEO of Majestic Cruise Lines and his family would be special guests on the ship for a week. Andy, the ship’s cruise director left Millie in charge for 2 weeks. He left to attend to his very ill mother. Millie was already feeling inadequate about being in charge, but now she was beyond nervous. Mr. Danvers and his fiancee were extremely demanding. His teenage son, Teddy, was reported to be a terror. Meanwhile, Andy and Millie are accused of stealing art from the High Seas Gallery. It’s up to Millie and her friends to find out who stole the artwork, and keep Teddy occupied and entertained.
This was interesting to follow the clues to see who stole the artwork, read about the demands and peculiar habits of the Danvers, and follow the activities of the crew.

What a challenging week for Millie as interim cruise director when her boss was away taking care of his elderly mom! But as always, all her friends pulled together to help her make things work and I don’t think she was ever prouder of her coworkers. She had to deal with the CEO of the cruise lines bringing his entourage on board as well as art thefts being blamed on her and Andy, and the poor guy wasn’t even there to defend himself.

Top that off with Millie and the captain needing to convince the CEO to let them continue to live on the same ship once they get married, and Millie was like that donut guy ad who saw himself coming and going. But as always, there was a great ending.
