High powered Denver attorney Layla Cox gets more than she bargains for when she sets her sights on a sexy cowboy during her friend and client’s wedding. After a weekend of explosive and unforgettable sex, her tryst has consequences. She’s pregnant. Determined to provide a good life for her baby, she leaves her fast lane life to buy a practice in small town Marietta so her child can have some contact with his birth father.
Tyson Watson doesn’t know what hit him. After his brother’s wedding and the best weekend of his life with the woman of his dreams, he doesn’t hear from the beautiful lawyer again–until she arrives at his ranch, announces she’s pregnant, and tells him that she doesn't need anything from him. Too bad. Layla may be independent, but Tyson is stubborn and has no intention of falling in line with Layla’s plan.
Can two strong-willed people turn a weekend of passion into a lifelong love?
I swear I was born with a book in my hand and that is how I spent most of my childhood. That was fine until I got older and the voices in my head demanded to be heard and I started to write. The voices are no quieter but there are less of them.
This is the fourth in a series about the four Watson brothers making a go of their lives and finding romance. I haven’t read the first three books in the series, but the author fills in enough of a backstory for each of the other couples so that I didn’t feel that lost.
What was a bit irritating is that the heroine, Layla, and the cowboy in question, Tyson Watson, hooked up before the book even began. Maybe those scenes were in the earlier book, but there is something a bit missing when we don’t see the two meet each other and be so attracted that they spend the weekend in bed.
The book opens with the two of them apart. Layla is a successful lawyer in Denver while Tyson is just starting out trying to build a living on a ranch he’s bought. He really fell for Layla but doesn’t feel worthy of her. He just feels they have too much that separates them so he never calls her after that weekend.
But thanks to some old birth control, she ends up pregnant and decides to pick up and move to his little town so that the baby will grow up knowing his father. She buys a law practice in town and plans to move out without ever talking to him. She tells herself that he was just interested in some fun times in bed and didn’t want anything different.
What proceeds is a lot of misunderstandings because these two people can’t just sit down and talk honestly to each other. Tyson seems to have an inferiority complex and just can’t tell Layla how he really feels. She jumps to conclusions and doesn’t let him have a chance to explain himself. I wanted to give both of them a shake. Being irritated with the two main characters throughout the book just detracts from the whole storyline.
I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a story of two stubborn, cantankerous people who are seriously attracted to each other but too entrenched to admit it even after a sextacular weekend together at his brother’s wedding results in her being pregnant! She’s Layla Cox, a wealthy, high powered city attorney whilst he’s a struggling rancher but the chemistry between them is explosive. When Layla discovers she’s pregnant, she moves from Denver to purchase a law practice in Marietta which is the nearest town to Tyler’s ranch. She’s determined to have their child and to enable Tyler to be involved in his upbringing but they are both too proud and determined to actually talk to each other meaningfully, especially about their feelings for each other.
This is a heart warming romance where love will find a way - despite the couple’s attitudes and misinterpretation of each other! Communication is the key but there are plenty of twists and turns - including a missing toddler - that will pull at your heart strings before this relatively quick read will reach the HEA they all deserve. Another Marietta story that I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend to anyone who enjoys a well written romance where you sometimes feel like figuratively shaking the main characters!
I requested and was given a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.
It is a good book. Unless you are bothered by the same things holding the characters back the hole damn book. But happy ending! God knows how i love me a happy ending.
For me, Her Favorite Cowboy was one of those stories where I spent so much time wanting to shake both the main characters and set them down for a stern talking to. Talk about stubborn, bull-headed, control freak. Yeah, in different ways that describes both Layla and Tyson. But in this case I was more on Tyson’s side for Layla simply came off as too over the top frustrating for me to like her very much. I understood that her reasons made sense to her, but she never gave Tyson a chance to complete a sentence before she was off misunderstanding what he actually tried to say while crying behind closed doors waiting for him to come after her… after she’d cut him down to the size of a walnut. *sigh* Yeah. Stubborn is a word. It irked me that most of Tyson’s family stood against him firmly on Layla’s side. It was during a crisis when she couldn’t trust Tyson to do what he did best even if it was against all logic… I was pretty much done with trying to like Layla and only hoped for a happy ending for Tyson’s sake. Harsh maybe. Yet it took two people to make their baby, it will take two people, equal in this relationship to make it work or it’s all for nothing. Layla couldn’t let go of controlling everything and as a result I had little empathy for her.
Now, simply because characters frustrate me along the way, let’s not have a misunderstanding of our own – I did enjoy Her Favorite Cowboy on many levels. Tyson and Layla kept the story lively with their bantering, misunderstandings and stubbornness. It was also very enjoyable to catch up with the other Watson brothers and their wives who we’ve come to know and love from previous stories. While Tyson is the youngest brother, I’m hoping that there is another series planned for some distant cousins we met as secondary characters. I pay attention to secondary characters and this one was hard to miss, but his actions and his attitude made a major turn around – and I’m hoping to know his and his brothers story some day. It would also be a great chance to catch up with our Watson brothers… just sayin’. *grin*
If you’re in the mood for a romance that will definitely get you emotionally involved, then Her Favorite Cowboy is perfect for you. You don’t “have” to have read the entire series to enjoy this one. There is enough subtle backstory to let you know who is who and how they came together. I’d recommend reading the entire series simply because they’re good stories you won’t want to miss.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
ARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! I wanted to smack this chick FROM. THE. BEGINNING!!!! Layla is such a royal pain in the ass. Ugh... I've read the first book in this series and part of the second. They were no where near as frustrating/irking as this one. I don't even know where to begin. Layla is crazy - she's tough but then she's weepy, but wait NOT! She's a super tough, hard as nails woman, ahhh but look at her funny and she's a snotty mess. What the hell???!!!!! Pregnancy is many things to many people, but this extreme is a struggle to read through.
Tyson isn't much better, but he gets ALL my sympathy because the whole world wants to gang up on him. His brothers - especially Chance - do him NO favors. Chance is a huge ass at EVERY opportunity. Layla just piles on. If I was Tyson, I would have stopped speaking to the lot of them years before. And talk about lack of communication - whatever he lacked LAYLA was the one with all the information. If she really wanted them to "co-parent" she would have made SOME effort to inform him of doctors appointments, gender reveals etc. Instead she tells everybody and their mother and NEVER tell him? Ughhh she bugged the crap out of me.
This wasn't even a whole story. There were pieces here and there but upon reflection you think - what the hell did I just read? Was that supposed to be a complete story? Good thing it was free or I'd be asking for my money back.
And don't get me started on the grammar/editing of this book. Someone needed to go through here - anybody really and a lot of the errors could have been caught. Even a college English major would have made a world of difference. I really thought about quitting this book but I hate to do that. Had it been any longer and I probably would have. Ugh....

Can two strong-willed people turn a weekend of passion into a lifelong love?
This is the fourth book in the series and the first one I have read and that was a mistake. I was able to make out mot of the mention of previous events and other character. I understood most, but not all. I missed something, I hope, that would better explain the dynamics between Tyson and his family. They act as though he abandoned Layla and the baby, rather than giving him a chance to come to terms with everything and asking him what he wants.
I vacillated over whether I even liked Layla. She had no thoughts of a long term relationship with Tyson until she discovered she was pregnant. Being a lawyer it is her job to see both sides of a situation and expect the worst out of someone, but really, the way she treats Tyson is so superfluous. I believe I would have like this book more if I had read the series from the beginning and given it a higher rating.
My rating of "Her Favorite Cowboy" is 3.5 out of 5 stars.
I enjoyed Her Favorite Cowboy by Ann B. Harrison, book four in her Watson Brothers series. Tyson Watson is the youngest brother who struggled to make his ranch profitable. After his brother’s wedding Tyson spends the weekend with the woman of his, Layla Cox, but never hears from her again. Layla is a high powered lawyer in Denver and gets more than she bargained for when she set her sights on Tyson; she ends up pregnant. Layla moves to Marietta, purchases a law practice, all so her child can have contact with his birth father. As independent as Layla is, Tyson is as stubborn, and will not agree to Layla’s plan for the future. These two stubborn and proud people have a lot of issues to iron out as well as need to learn how to communicate with and listen to each other before they can smooth things over. It took me a while to warm up to Layla, feeling that no one was listening to Tyson but once I did I really enjoyed her story.
This was an enjoyable book with likeable and authentic characters. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Harrison drew me in and did not let go until I read the last page. I definitely recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I read a free copy for an honest review provided by netgalley.com. Previously, I had read The Sheriff's Mail Order Bride, so was familiar with most of the characters and family dynamics. I would not advise reading as a stand alone.
High powered lawyer Layla Cox is back. She is oldest brother, Chance's lawyer from the first book and has appeared in the others. She had set her sights on the youngest Watson brother, Tyson, but does not realize how insecure he is and how intimidating she is. After an intimate weekend with the cowboy, she returns to Denver, but then finds herself pregnant. When well meaning Chance interferes with their relationship, more than once, he almost destroys it. She relocates to their small town, so her baby will be near family, but make sit clear that she doesn't need Tyson. While she really wants him, she makes him feel that she doesn't need him. While she blames Tyson, will she realize in time that it is she who is sabotaging their relationship? Would these two really make it in real life?
I liked those books that I have read and will most likely go back and read the entire series from the start.
Can’t even find the right words to describe Layla…. She is playing the victim so well and with passion It’s disgusting, selfish, childish and ridiculous snob She is putting everyone against Tyson with her crying every other second. They are all very judgmental and narrow minded Why should he try to stop her when she made it very and I mean very clear she doesn’t want him. She doesn’t tell him anything. Nothing about ultrasounds, doctor appointments. How is he supposed to know anything? Showing everyone the ultrasound pictures and not Tyson is just mean and disgusting 🤮 And it makes me mad that Chance doesn’t say the truth about the wedding add. Who needs enemies when you have a brother like him? No one takes time to listen to him but they all have an opinion about him. I have 2 words for Layal, f#cking Bitch And no she doesn’t need more pride, she needs a heart. And when he says the exact same things as she does he needs to shut up because he might say something that he can’t take back. Why should he fight for her and all she does is being a bitch to him. She could fight for him too!
This book was a fast read and the story for the most part was good. Layla Cox is a lawyer from Denver invited to her friend and client’s wedding. It is there that she meets and spends the weekend with cowboy Tyson Watson. Tyson likes Layla, but because his ranch and home are not up to the standards that he thinks she is looking for he lets her leave back to Denver without a word and does not contact her, and yet his older brother gets into his business between the two of them and causes problems. Layla ends up moving to their town of Marietta along with her practice because she finds out that she is pregnant and she what’s the father, and his family to be involved in the raising of her child. Tyson must get over his idea that he is not good enough for her and Layla must get over of always being in control. If they could work these two things out they can be together. Read this book and see how it turns out. A good book. I got this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com
Her Favorite Cowboy is a well-written story by Ann B Harrison. It is book four in the Watson Brothers Series. Which is a series I have enjoyed, but can’t say that this is my favorite if the series. I did like Tyson Watson. He is a wonderful cowboy character though he is not confident in relationships. I thought he would be quite a catch but he doesn’t think that himself. Layla Cox is the perfect image of a successful lawyer which may not be a virtue.
While it took a while for me to actually consider Layla good enough for Tyson, it is the core of the story that bothered me. I am not fond of one-night stand stories; obviously, this is all Tyson was to Layla. After consequences of that night came to light, her attitude and actions were strong but selfish. I can’t fault the writing or the realistic approach to the events, I just found this not to be my kind of story.
3.5 Stars An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley.
Layla wanted a fling with handsome cowboy during her friend/client's wedding weekend. She knew she wanted Tyson from the moment she laid her eyes and she pursued him since he was groom's brother. She thought their weekend was more than just a fling until she finds out she is pregnant. Layla is high power attorney and her life is in Denver so Tyson never thought he had a chance with her. He just started his own ranch and he is barely making it work. When he finds out Layla is pregnant with his child, he is willing to do anything she needs until she lays out all of the plans for him. Layla has seen and live through unhappy childhood by not having two parents, so she decides to move near Tyson so her unborn child can have family near. However, everything doesn't go the way Layla wants. They kept running into problems and it is isolating them even further from each other. Layla is too headstrong to give into Tyson easily and vise versa. Both are stubborn and doesn't want to admit they are at fault. But will they give into their feelings to give this child a happy ending. Thanks to Netgalley and Tule publishing for ARC in exchange for honest review.
Ann has given us a good read with lots of twists through this story. She really made her people real in this story line. I went back and forth on who I was more likeable. Layla was a top lawyer in Denver. Tyson is trying to fix his trail ride to be able to keep on fixing. They get together at Rory and Gina's marriage. Whoops! Those condoms didn't work! She comes to tell Tyson about becoming a Daddy. There are lots of twists and turns in this story. Layla moves to be close. He lives in his ranch. The family ladies are all having babies , one has twins! Then Fisher, a toddler, goes out and gets lost. Everyone jumped in to find him. Major Spoiler! This book will drag you right into your heart! There are spots where you want to jerk them back and forth! Check out this story! You won't be able to put it down! Enjoy reading this book! I volunteered to read and review this book.
Her Favourite Cowboy is book four and a fitting conclusion to The Watson Brothers series. Set in Marietta Montana, this story is a sweet contemporary western. It works fine on its own or as part of the series. I flew through the story, which is mostly fast-paced and held my interest throughout. I liked both Layla and Tyson though there were times when I wanted to clock one or the other over the head for being an idiot. I had a bit of a problem with some sentence structure. Nothing major but here and there I came across sentences that looked like they were in the middle of being edited with a new word added and the one it was clearly intended to replace still there. It interrupted the flow of the story for me, though maybe others would gloss over it. That aside, nice story.
A great end to the series about the Watson Brothers and an equally good lead in to the new series about the Hansen Brothers.
This series has gotten me further hooked book-by-book and I look forward to reading more about this fictional community in Marietta.
This final book of the Watson Brothers neatly ties up any 'loose ends' in the series, at the same time introducing new characters to the community and developing some existing marginal characters in an unexpected way, all in the lead up to the next series in the community - Hansen Brothers.
Like the other books in this series, it is a great book for those times when you just want to sit and read something light, enjoyable and that you know will have a HEA.
Tyson Watson is the youngest of the Watson brothers and he is trying to make a go of things on his own ranch, but money is tight. Layla is a lawyer who has been friends with Tyson's older brother for years. When they see each other there are instant sparks, but they are both very stubborn and both very sure that they are too different to make things work. I really enjoyed these characters and how the author wasn't afraid to let their stubborn, controlling natures shine through so much. Their attitudes and behaviors make them who they are and I loved seeing to people so stubborn work on finding their way. This was a great story and I really like the whole extended Watson family.
Good story liked the lead characters, Tyson and Layla, who spent a weekend in bed at his brother’s wedding and so we go from there. The secondary characters were well represented in the storyline and I wonder if I should have read this series from book 1. It is a stand alone but there is definitely interesting aspects to Tyson’s immediate family which I am sure are addressed in the forerunners to this book 4. 3/4 of the way through it began to slow down and was limping along and then of course we have the rushed ending. 3 Stars from me recommend you read it and consider starting with book one in this series.
Tyson Watson is the youngest boy of the Watson Brothers of Marietta, Montana. His three brothers are married and he feels lonely now. He met Kayla at the last brother,s wedding and had a whirlwind weekend with her. After she went back to Denver and her law practice Tyson was heartbroken. His brother Chance told him he ought to place an ad for a mail order bride who would live in his run down cabin with him. Three months after the weekend of love, Kayla returns to tell Tyson she is pregnant but not going to marry him. One things leads to another and two stubborn, controlling people must learn a lesson for them both to find love.
Liked the Hero but not the Heroine... A sweet story with not much plot. Odd, but I felt like Tyson kept getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop Layla was offering. For example, in what should have been Tyson's hero moment, he really didn't get the attention he deserved...from anyone. I liked Tyson much more than Layla's character. However, the ending tied things up nicely.
What was annoying: 4 instances where "brought" was used instead of "bought", and one sentence (reply) that made no sense: "Not it's not". Perhaps they meant "No, it's not."
I enjoyed reading the secondary characters and plan to pick up one of their stories…which hopefully were edited a bit more closely.
I enjoy romances between two unlikely people to get together. In Her Favorite Cowboy high power Denver attorney, Layla Cox and sexy but poor horse rancher Tyson Watson are such a couple. The attraction is strong and with Layla being a go-getter and used to get what she wants and she wants Tyson. The hot weekend gives her an unexpected surprise, a baby.
She thinks they are mismatched, decides what will be and Tyson has a difficult time getting her to listen to him and he wants to be a big part of his baby's life. I loved the humor, the high emotions and the meddling family that made the story a good read with the key to any relationship being communication.
I always enjoy Ann B. Harrison stories and this is no exception. Layla and Tyson hook up at his brother's wedding. After the best weekend and sex of their lives they go their separate ways. Neither one reaches out to the other to find out if there was more to it than just a casual hook up. Then Layla shows up pregnant. They are both very stubborn and proud. Can a hard working cowboy and a rich big city attorney put aside what makes them different and build a life together? Sweet story about following your heart instead of your head. Good read.
A good idea for a plot unfortunately has been murdered in this story, through either overbearing or overly weak characters, inconsistencies in the story and the dynamics between the protagonists, and - this puts insult to injury - through horrible horrible horrible and numerous spelling and grammar errors. On the plus side, it was indeed a stand-alone, and the handful of sentences the author used to summarise whatever happened in the other three books was more than sufficient, so I do not have to read them.
Hello pot, meet kettle, goodbye heart. Layla and Tyson are two of the most stubborn people. They drove me crazy with their pride, seduced me with their romantic two step and claimed my heart in the end. Ann B. Harrison created a winner. She took a few of my favorite things and dreamed up a sweetheart of a love story. For Layla getting in touch with her inner wild child has lasting results. Can a country boy convince a city girl to take a chance on love?
Attorney Layla Cox gets pregnant in one wild weekend with Tyson Watson. Because of personal bagge neither connects with the other, as much as they each want to. When Layla decides to leave her high powered practice and take up family law in Marietta so her child can have some contact with his or her dad, the constant interaction forces them both to reassess their relationship. Sweetly told western romance I requested and received an Arc from NetGalley ...much to my delight.
I've loved there journey... its be hard work with these two ...they are so stubborn and pig headed but some how they work it out .. my favourite thing about these books is how we still hear about the other brothers and there wife's.. im just going to say that fisher is still my favourite .. i hope that there is still more installed for these guys .. thanks again for sharing these AWESOME stories... love them..💖💖💖
Bem escrito, cativante..
Although l loved this story it had many things that made me re-read at least twice. The story line was great, the characters did get me in but
The story was riddled with repeats which grated on my nerves a few times. Transitions. At one time I didn't know if the person was already in the room, or where they came from. The disagreements between Tyson and Layla was over done. They argued all the time and Tyson's imature attitude frustrated me.
