Wowza!
That's some serious alpha man lovin'! Cassandra is coming out of a really bad marriage and still confused by everything about it. When her Nan sets her up on a date with Dane, she starts to find clarity. And the clearest thing is immense pleasure.
In addition to plenty of heat, there are also plenty of laughs and the love of a man that lifts Cassandra up. There's a scene with a chain that is a little uncomfortable for me but it's still crazy hot.

Wow really enjoyed this little freebie via book funnel, it ticked all the boxes for a novella, hot sex, hot hero, with a hot body, the heroine was a delight too having insecurities because of her ex husband who undermined her confidence and didn't believe anyone would find her beautiful. It is a 'daddy' erotic romance but light on the 'daddy' so if this type of genre is not your usual, you will still be able to enjoy this story. The relationship develops quickly but is to be expected as it's a novella, but both characters do show their vulnerable side and expose past hurts and issues. Oh and did I say I loved this story? Yup I think I did, and I'm now going shopping for more books by Lee Savino!

I’m a little torn on this one, definitely had its moments, but also a few things that made me roll my eyes.
Let’s start with Dane. Dominant, protective, confident without being overbearing , the man is total book boyfriend material. Some of the kinkier scenes? Whew!! He brought the heat. Very dom/sub leaning, with just a sprinkle of daddy kink once you get deeper into the story but it wasn’t super heavy on that. Still, the spicy scenes were creative and intense.
Now Cassandra… I get it. She had a terrible ex who did a number on her, so her walls were way up. But after a while, her back-and-forth got a little tiring. The constant second-guessing, the running away from Dane when all he did was show up and treat her right? Girl, come on….I wanted to shake her a few times. Especially when he was only ever an asshole to the guy who deserved it, her ex-husband.
The biggest issue for me, though, was the pacing. She went from being freshly divorced, like literally served the papers, to diving headfirst into a new relationship with Dane. It all just moved a bit too fast, especially considering she was still emotionally wrecked from the breakup. I would've liked a little more space for that emotional processing, especially given how blindsided she was by the divorce.
All that said, I still enjoyed the read. Cassandra and Dane had insane chemistry, and watching them explore kink and power dynamics together was fun. I just wish we had a better pacing and maybe an epilogue, it really felt like their story needed that final wrap-up.

Lee Savino delivers a perfect hero in Dane for Cassandra. She is being strong armed to accept her divorce from her adulterer husband. On the day that she gets her divorce papers, she walks into a coffee shop and runs into a handsome man with a Marine bulldog tattoo. She runs away as quick as she can and gets home to the home she shares with her grandmother, who informs her that she set up Cassandra on a date to go to the VFW picnic and that he would be there to pick her up and help her set up.
When Cassandra opens the door, she finds Dane, the man from the coffee shop. It turns out that he's her date and is there to pick her up and take her to the picnic. Dane was a former Marine, just like Cassandra's grandfather.
Dane has a very protective streak and wants to make sure that Cassandra is safe. He gets her some help for her divorce and is there to protect her when her drunk ex shows up. Dane also wants her to call him Daddy, especially when he's punishing her. It's a really sweet love story with some nice spice thrown in to heat it up, especially the scene with the football game. I love everything Lee writes, and really enjoyed this story.

But not one to give you that cringy toothache. Cassandra meets Dane at a low moment in her life. Unknownst to Cassandra, Dane is close to her grandmother, and they meet again. I found the development of their relationship both quick but at a realistic pace for the circumstances. Noting that this is a shorter book, the tension is not heavy and quickly resolved. However, the reader is privy to Cassandra's emotional growth-and Dane shows his weaknesses honestly. The author uses a very light hand in regards to the daddy kink (no age regression). Dane slowly brings this side out of Cassandra with lots of consent. And that one scene! Who would have thought of chains!

This was a cute, steamy, quick read.
But.
I just felt nothing towards these characters.
We did get to know them a little bit, but I just didn’t feel the connection to them that I wanted to.
The plot was simple. Mostly just their growing relationship, with a small dose of drama from Cassie’s ex thrown in. Not too bad. It kept me interested enough.
The sex was steamy and had a bit of kink to it, which was sexy.
Somehow it felt a bit forced and stilted, but it still caught my attention.
I don’t know.
I just didn’t feel anything for these characters but a vague, passing intrigue.

I won this in a giveaway and it came right on time.
I read this during my lunch break and it was a cute short read that checked all the boxes. We got an Alpha male and a woman going through some things due to a bad prior relationship. Great sexual chemistry, some Bondage and Submission going on, but without the hard hitting sadism.
The ex was a serious character and I was glad that, even in a story this short, he got his just desserts in the end and it didn't feel rushed. I would definitely check on more books in this series.

Story that pulls you in first chapter
Definitely a good story, characters, sexy times and some drama!
Good points: likeable characters, sexy times, good story,
Bad points: no epilogue and just when things were going good and interesting the end, oh Hugh negative he wants her to call him daddy!!! Total turn off, I inserted baby when applicable!

What I liked was the forbidden temptations in this story, the right good amounts of sweet, sassy and sexy. Things that could have been improved was the ending, the epilogue and the abuse by heroine’s ex husband. It seemed this was focused on too much. Otherwise, this was a good read.

I wish I could give this a higher rating because the sex was hot, especially a certain thing with a chain like I give the smut five stars but the rest like the constant mention of her ex, her grandpa and her “happy place” got kinda annoying. ((Sorry))

FINALLY! A real relationship with realistic BDSM!
My biggest gripe about literature advertising as BDSM? NOT REALISTIC. Period. It's either still too vanilla. Or only just a little slap and tickle. (Since when did that qualify as BDSM?) Or the heroine goes from life-long vanilla to rabid BDSM in twenty seconds. Or it's ONLY about the actual sex act rather than the actual relationship between the dom and sub. (As anybody who’s in the scene. They’ll tell you it ain’t just about the sex.)
This is finally a realistic story that I am not constantly making mental corrections. That always takes away from the story line. Like I have better things to do… like enjoy my story!
And what a great story it is! All I can say is: WHERE IS MY DEVIL DOG WHEN I NEED/WANT/LUST AFTER ONE?
Only in my dreams, sad to say.
This is the first of Lee Savino's stories I've read, and I am definitely going to BUY the rest. (This was a freebie I was given for signing up to her emails.) At last, someone who understands what BDSM literature is all about. There's a lot more than just sex. It's all about such an intense sense of intimacy that is so GINORMOUS, it alone can give one a mind-blowing orgasm.
Both Dane and Cassie are very sympathetic characters, ones you want to cheer for, drool over, to give great big bear hugs to. They both are, one can say, damaged goods though Dane is far more further along his path of healing than Cassie is, but that's what devil dogs are for. To rescue us, be a great shoulder to cry on, and get great big licks from... Excuse me. I'm getting ahead of myself here...
I am surprised to say that this was considered a short story. I'd call it at least a short novella which is the opposite of what I usually complain about. (That is, shorts being foisted upon me as novellas by authors who really don’t even know how to write a decent short story.) I absolutely LOVED Cassie's internal dialogues. I haven't seen a writer use this technique this well in a very, very long time. It was so refreshing to see it again, like an old friend, when it is done this well. Just enough comic relief to make the story pace so well.
Should you get this novella? Absolutely! I've read it three times in two weeks, that's how much I enjoyed it! This is rare for me to do so unless I really liked it. I just can't believe she managed to develop a decent BDSM story in the page count she did it in! I wish other writers would sit up and take notice, perhaps read it themselves in order to improve their BDSM writing skills. (I still say firsthand experience is better, but in lieu of that, this story could only help.)

I already owned Lee Savino's "Her Marine Daddy," but I'm reviewing it for her as an ARC for Booksprout. This story just gets funnier every time you read it... Which is why I can gladly recommend this book based upon its own merits. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as this story is on par! As always, I'll look forward to more opportunities to read Lee's work in the future. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given.

It took me awhile to rate this.. since there was a few things that had me going ugh.. but i think this book is a solid 3.5
I was pretty surprised by this book.. i had a few meh things.. like Cassandra i understood why she acted like she did since her crappy ex husband was the one who treated her bad.. but so many times.. i was getting tired of her trying to "run away" from Dane.. or the second guessing herself.. i wanted to shake her since Dane was a stand up guy.. he was only a asshole to her ex-husband.. LIKE WOMAN!!
Now at first this didn't seem like a daddy kink book.. until maybe 40% the word daddy was said beside that and dominate sexy times.. that was all. i enjoyed the learning curve of Cass and Dane and how he introduce her into some bdsm stuff very dom/sub play.. he was such a good guy protective a good book boyfriend!!

4 stars. Really enjoyed this one and am surprised at how much depth there was for it to be less than 100 pages. I loved the characters, their chemistry, their romance and their stories and what they've been through. There was a lot of emotions here and a sweet romance mixed in with some very steamy sex and it all worked together wonderfully. I know the next book follows Dane's brother and I'm excited to read it because I really enjoyed this author's writing and I'm interested to get to know his character since we didn't get to meet him here. If he's anything like Dane I'm sure I'm gonna love him just as much.

First off, I must say I love all of this authors books. Her Berserkers series are the best! This book is a love story. A sweet, sexy book that makes you wish you had a Dane in your life! Dane and Cassandra are the main characters. Dane is, I can not describe how sweet and alpha he is and Cassandra, she is funny, scared and has a smart mouth. Truly a great book to read. Highly recommend!

This is such a sweet book. I loved the connection between the characters, both in their shared history and the strong emotional bond they develop. It’s more than just sex, although the sex is amazing (a chain!). It’s lovely to read how they unite and heal each other.
This is a feel-good story that I’ll go back to over and over when I have a bad day.
