I'm really loving this group of otherwise unlikely friends who band together to solve crazy cases in small town Alaska although this book takes two of them out of town for awhile.
This story involved rogue British agents, a park ranger who had transferred to AK from WY getting killed for witnessing something in Yellowstone Park that he shouldn't have seen.
With the excitement and speed of a spy thriller, Conrad, Sarah and Amanda set out to bring justice to someone for killing the park ranger, Charlie. A rogue agent threatens Amanda and her family but it doesn't make her give up wanting to help. Conrad and Sarah have to travel down to Yellowstone. The drive home results in a really satisfying take down and end to this crazy, twisty case.
As in the previous books, this one ends with another little enticement to read the next one. I say, why not?
in this 3rd install of the Alaska Cozy Mystery series sees Amanda and Sarah coming into contact with British MI 6. Sarah refuses to listen to the man and she and Conrad take a drive after finding the body of a dead park ranger...Trying to find out why the man came to Alaska only to die, they drive to Yellowstone where the man worked before...Finding out that he was chased out of his job because he took pictures of people he shouldn't have....Amanda's family is threatened to make her more compliant. This is a cute quick cozy and I am liking the series I am not (make that still not) a fan of Michelle the AI narrator, it makes the books sound robotic and rather stilted but all in all a very good cute, quick series. Available in Kindle audiobook and paperback form.
The team did it again! This time thwarting a terror attack while instigating the murder of a park ranger. Even while separated, Amanda, Sarah and Conrad prove that they are a solid team when it comes to taking down the bad guys. Fast paced, fun, with some humor thrown in, these are the perfect quick cozy reads.
Nice mystery read for a cold snowy day. If you like cozy mysteries you will love this one it'd full of mystery and adventure mixed with a little romance.
Author couldn't leave well enough alone. Last paragraph something mysterious happens that attempts to hook you into the next book in the series. To me, it just pisses me off because it ruins the end of the story I just read. Speaking of which...this series is starting to annoy me. Too many highly unlikely deadly stuff happens in this small Alaska town. East coast Italian Mafia boss, now British MI6 (think James Bond). Too many murders. Jessica Fletcher had this problem in Murder, She Wrote with too many murders happening in Cabot Cove, Maine so they started having her travel. Also, as these short novels, too long to be novellas, are only 9 chapters... too much happens too quickly.
I'm not sure how much I enjoy this series, but I am listening to them for free on Youtube. One thing is it is being read by an AI and without the change in emotion, it is sometimes hared to keep track of the characters. There was also a little bit of preachiness towards the middle of the story. I may read more books in the series in 2024.
I enjoyed this installment in this series. I love the interactions with Sarah's friend Amanda and how she seems to be involved in the very end of the adventure. I can't wait to see what next in store for Conrad and Sarah along with Amanda. Would love to he Amanda's Jack come back to the states and get involved.
This one was much better than the first 2 books in the series. Not great but good. It was fun watching the pieces that were obvious to me fall into place for the characters. However, my main thought after reading it is who is going to keep the kitten?!.
Another great mystery featuring Alaska as the setting and quirky characters.
Snow Happens is the third book I have read by Wendy Meadows. The series features a small town in Alaska, Snow Falls, and an ex-LA cop now turned mystery writer Sarah Garland. Think Jessica Fletcher in Alaska!
Snow Falls, for a sleepy little Alaskan frontier town, seems to be experiencing an extremely high number of murders! By this third book, Sarah, her best friend Amanda, and Detective Conrad Spencer have formed a crime fighting partnership. For a cozy mystery, I found the novel to be exciting and captivating. The book is fast-paced and full of intrigue due to the multiple suspects. Figuring out who is who and who is the true bad guy was not an easy task.
The main characters, Sarah, Amanda, and Connor, continue to develop as the series progresses. It has been fun to see the friendship grow as time passes. I wasn't sure about Wendy Meadows' writing style at first. However, like her characters ,Wendy's talent and creative imagination grow better with each book in the series.
I look forward to seeing what Wendy has in store for us as the series progresses.
Another fun escape into mystery and danger as Sarah, Conrad and Amanda set out to solve the murder of a local park ranger in Snow Falls, Alaska. Although the scenarios in this series so far are a stretch for a small, sleepy town I think it adds to the cozy fun. With these being short books the action kicks in early and flies throughout. Fun way to spend my sleepy Saturday morning.
Tiny Snow Falls, Alaska is experiencing a wave of serious crimes like murder which is highly unusual. Det. Conrad and Amanda are manning the front lines, and the story line takes off at a fast clip. I love the cold, snowy setting, the character's growth--individually and collectively. Don't miss this engaging series!
Conrad, Sarah and Amanda have another case. A park ranger has been found dead. He came to Alaska from Wyoming. A British agent has shown up and threatened to kill them all. He has ordered Sarah and Conrad to leave for 7 days. They head to Wyoming. The hard part is figuring out who the real bad guy is.
This is a well written mystery (more like horror) story. This is fast paced and fascinating and frightening. I enjoyed this book in this series and am looking forward to the next.
A park ranger is dead. You have four suspect's that you have to figure out who is bad and who is good. Fast paced quick read that keeps you guessing until the end.
This series has been good; quick reads with interesting puzzles. However, this book is missing pages! Those pages are missing during the conclusion of the puzzle. So frustrating!!!
Terrific! A conspiracy, a deadly virus, MI6 and a dead body. Who are the good guys? Can they stop things before it's too late? A more out there plot but done really well. Another great read. By the way the budding romance is doing very well.
These mysteries are exciting ,fast paced, and have a thrilling, unexpected ending. Characters who solve the mystery are endearing, a bit rash, and run headlong into danger. The bad guys are really despicable and you cheer at their capture
Love the plot and characters. Nice twist. Only thing I have a issue with is how is it that a cop can ask a civilian and a retired cop help him with investigations and not ask an active cop help him. What happened to the kitty?
I gave it this rating because once again I enjoyed reading it very much. The author has a way with the storyline and characters that keeps your interest. I would recommend it to anyone.
This the third book I have read in this series. They a good afternoon read and are a good way to relax and not have to worry about today's problems. Not that germ warfare is not a worry but I did not feel that fear in this story. A good read.
If you enjoy Cozy Mysteries, this is for you. Shorter read, an hour or so. Good plots, some great, likable characters. Good example, that you canned different and form, great friendship s.
I love this series! I read the first one and became hooked! I found out there are 13 books in the series and I am now on no.4. So far I have liked them all! There are 3 main characters and I think a love interest between the 2 of them on the horizon! GREAT SERIES!!
The trio can't catch a break from murder. Called out to a remote area they find the body of a park ranger, and start on a rollercoaster ride to find the killers and stop terrorists.
These are great little books with great characters!! I love snow and mysteries and great friendship! These books are right up my alley! Having a great time with these reads during this pandemic!
Another great instalment in the Alaska Cozy Mystery series - this is number 3. I really enjoyed the book and loved the characters. It’s a great story and series which I would highly recommend.
A rogue foreign agent, a canister of deadly virus and a dead park ranger. The finding of a park ranger shot with a lethal poison begins this exciting story. Cant put it down!
I enjoyed reading this book. The story and characters were intriguing and engaging. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. This book is definitely worth reading.
Another fast paced mystery. A park ranger is found dead and it sends Sarah and Conrad on the trail of his murderer. They end up having their lives threatened by an MI6 agent and lead to Yellowstone Park. A good read.
A great mystery in book 3 of the series. Sarah, Amanda and Conrad are racing against the clock (and the weather) to catch a killer. Great who done it. Love getting to know more about the characters
