An exceptional devotional! And when she said her pastor was Steven Furtick, I let out a whoop, because I love that guy! Currently binge watching his sermons in the mornings.

In her devotion book, "What Happens When Women Say Yes to God", author Lysa TerKeurst shares personal and practical examples of how obedience to God in our daily lives can strengthen and grow our faith in Christ.
There are 40 short chapters, each includes a focus Scripture, a thought for the day, a prayer, and reflection questions.
I really like the set-up of this book, but to be honest, I'm disappointed in the content. This book is not gospel-centered, nor is there much talk of Jesus. Much of the focus is on personal benefit, not on being obedient followers of Christ.
Unfortunately, decent theology mixed with self-help advice leads to malnourished baby Christians. I'm afraid this book will leave you hungry for the truth. That truth will only be found when we believe the Bible is sufficient as God's revelation to man and that it must be used in context. God has spoken to us through His Word, we don't need to listen for a still small voice to know how to obey. Nor can we make singled-out Bible verses fit our own ideas and purposes.
If you are truly looking to grow in your faith and obedience to Christ, this devotional doesn't have the depth you are probably looking for.

I recommended this book to my friends and I have been thanked for it ever since! I work in a hospital and a patient gave this book to me because she thought I could have used some inspiration. I must say that I am forever grateful for this gift. I am using the suggestions the author made in my everyday life. Kudos to Mrs. TerKeurst for a wonderful book!

Really more of a 2.5 star rating. It was fine. There were points that I really needed to hear. However, I felt like the study was more emotionally based than Bible based. A chapter would be based on one verse or a few verses. No real depth.

Wonderful
Women who want to say Yes to Jesus should read this book! We are all in this together and Lysa writes so well about how to take who we are and unashamedly love Christ. She writes how to live His way with an an amazing ability to be real and reach other women like me where we are.

Excellent devotional to read after reading her book of the same title. God specifically spoke to me one day through reading this devotional. I had been exasperated dealing with all the problems and issues with being a mother and what I should do, and after praying, I finished my devotional time with this book, and it was like God was helping me get through this time.
