I wish I could rate this with a 3/4 star it was just shy a 4 star rating.

So cool to read about real wild west frontier stories in my own state. This book gave a clear picture of how things really were and not Hollywood versions. The OK Coral was barely mentioned as it is infamous and well known all on its own. Tombstone wasn't the only wild and dangerous place in Arizona. I loved to find out how cities, towns, mountains and places...even streets got their names and the cool stories behind them. Truly fascinating history.

A story of some of Arizona's wilder times. Gunfights, Indian attacks swindles and all. Gold and silver mines popped up and disappeared in a few short months and how it just seemed to last for several "boom" years. A interesting book on Arizona.

I really enjoyed this unique glimpse at Arizona's notorious history. So many characters, be they lawmen, outlaws, or just irascible men that came and went through the towns that sprung up throughout this harsh land.

Not a bad read!
Adds a good content voice to territorial history from newspappers of the time. Describes well stage and rail transportation. KGA
