The untold, personal story of what happens to Jason, Kim, Trini, Zack, and Billy following in the days after they first became Power Rangers. Fighting evil is hard, but surviving high school may be even harder—welcome to real life in Angel Grove.
The original American version of Power Rangers was one of my favourite shows when I was little. I happened to see an article on this new series in the back of an issue of The Unsound and was tempted enough to try it. So far it seems fairly solid plot-wise and I like the art, so I'll see where it goes.
This is the kid friendly Power Rangers that I was worried about, whilst it's not completely awful, I have no intention of reading the rest of the series.
Why Is Goldar fighting the rangers in every first issue of each series, had it in this Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #0 and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink #1, has he just become their punching bag or something? They defeat him with ease twice, even though he's Rita's right hand man. The other thing that bothered me was Billy getting bullied and letting it happy, he's a bloody superhero he could kick their ass, even when someone offers to deal with it he declines. It just felt very strange and why would someone bully someone who's friends are all jacked, like seriously? How stupid do you need to be!
I'm pretty sure I'm not the target audience for this, I'm sure lots of people will love this though.
Go Go Power Rangers #1 may not give us anything unique or new, but nevertheless it’s still a fun look into the early days of these young heroes. The simplistic narrative also allows for a more intricate look a the Rangers personalities and how they’re adapting to becoming heroes.
These are really cool early origin stories of dealing with and balancing the superhero thing with life, as well as dealing with the rangers as 14-16yr olds!!!! Such great story telling and artwork as well.
Honestly loved the story and being a kid again reading Power Rangers. Especially how they are adding more depth to the story then what they had in the show
This book is fantastic. Great writing that sets up some very interesting threads surrounding some great characters from my childhood. Couple it with some amazing art I can't wait to delve in more.
