Sam Castleton has fame, houses all over the world, and one really big problem—he’s got an album due and he can’t write. All he wants is a quiet place to get his head straight. Dale, Georgia, seems like the perfect quiet spot to try to hear the music again and get some lyrics down on paper.

With her daughter’s paternal grandparents making a sudden appearance and the difficulties of running her own lodge and being a single mom, Faith Adams doesn’t have the time to worry about the mysterious stranger staying in one of her cottages, no matter how sexy he is.

This was not at all what I expected from a rocker book. It was a pleasant surprise. Sam is coming off tour and he fears he is turning into an alcoholic. He has his manager find a remote place for him to stay for a couple months to get himself back into shape and to write the next album he is in contract for.

Faith is a widow and single mom who took a chance and bought a bed and breakfast that also has cabins on the property. This way she can raise her daughter close to her while working. This so happens to be the place Sam's manager chooses to send him for his regrouping.

For a rocker book, this was actually pretty cute. You got a 5 year old little girl, a dog and a down to earth bombshell who doesn't know who Sam is. There attraction is immediate but not pursued. It was more a slow burn that allowed the reader to see these to get drawn in slowly.

I kept expecting to for a nasty ex or groupie to pop up in the story and was pleasantly surprised to see the author kept it all about Faith, her daughter and Sam. She did provide us with some great side characters that had me immediately researching to see if they have their own books. I'm happy to say they do and pre-ordered them on the spot.

Great story! ARC provided by NetGalley.

This was quite a sweet romance! I liked it quite a bit and plowed through it! It was so readable and fun! I loved the characters and the whole set up. A rockstar and a small town girl ... yes, please! I love that trope! Faith and Sam were a great couple from the start and I loved watching them come together. I especially like that Faith was such a wonderful mother and a strong person in her own right. Sometimes in romance, the female can seem all 'save me' so I enjoyed that Faith was portrayed as a strong single mom who doesn't need to be saved. I liked the side characters a great deal and think they added that something special to the story. I really enjoyed this sweet romance! I definitely recommend it!

Sam Castle for the last few years has lived in and out of his suitcase as a rock star. Recently though he has been feeling the effects of being burnt out and wants a break away from the spotlight. One thing leads to another and Sam Castle aka Sam Castleton finds himself in the middle of nowhere in a small town called Dale. Faith owns a small Bed and Breakfast in Dale and lives here with her five-year-old daughter Piper. The small town life is perfect for her as she had a go at being a Stepford wife and that didn't work out. Now it's just the two of them. Wanting privacy, Sam hires out the whole Bed and Breakfast and gets down to business which includes clearing his head and writing some new songs for his overdue album. As the story goes along, we have an idea of how the book will play out as this becomes one of those predictable HEA sweet romance reads. You know the type that you don't have to think much about, but you pick it up as you want one of those happy, feel-good books that cater to all those romantic notions of true love. The other thing that I did like about Storming the Castle was that for Faith, this was a second chance at romance as her first husband is no longer around and of course due to her history Sam has to work harder than his usual rock star charm to woo her. The other good thing about this book is that even though it is part of a series, you can read it as a stand-alone story.
If you are on the lookout for a sweet small town contemporary romance, then check out Arianna Hart's new release "Storming the Castle" - Book #3 in the Dale Series.

Aaawwwww. I really liked this. Still swooning.
A yummy Rock Star hero, a bunch of amazing supportive characters, adorable dogs, funny kids and a sizzling low-angst romance make for a beautiful feel-good read full of heart, laughs and Southern charm.
It wasn't until she was halfway up the stairs that she heard him move. He let out a curse as he banged against something and she smiled again because she was the reason he'd lost his usual grace. She might have stretch marks and a twenty-dollar haircut, but she just slayed him, and it felt great.

This is the perfect novel to read on a beach and get yourself out of a lazy summer book slump.

The rock-star romance sub-genre is generally not my thing. They all seem to follow the same tried and tested template of sex, drugs and rock n roll followed by redemption or insta-love but Storming the Castle is not like the others. Sure it has the burned out rock-star trying to out run fame, alcohol and his inability to conjure up a new album, but it has so much more than the typical rocker book and it is all due to the beautiful characterisation of the female protagonist Faith and the slow burn romance that unfurls between two unlikely, lost souls.
Faith is the epitome of a strong, independent and self-assured heroine. Yes she has her moments of insecurity but she is very real. Her resilience combined with her vulnerability, her sweetness and her fierce protective attitude for her daughter all form together, to create a sterling representative for the female lead.
Sam is searching for peace, solitude and his muse. The life of a rock-star has beaten him down into someone he no longer likes or recognises, but when he meets Faith and her daughter he begins to feel more than hungover and jaded. They stir something deeper and far more meaningful into his heart.

'He imagined lifting her up on the counter and hammering her until she screamed. He stroked the strings like he wanted to stroke her, working from the lower range to the higher. The notes sang as he plucked and strummed, teasing out the music, then demanding more. Finally, he finished with a flourish that was as close to a scream of completion as he could get without coming himself.'

Arianna Hart has written a lovely, romantic story that relies more on her engaging characters than explosive and salacious plot-lines. Don't let that fool you however as there is still a good deal of drama, mishaps, misunderstandings, sex, love and faith to get through before you reach that happy ever after and fantastic epilogue. Storming the Castle is a wonderful love story, it's a more grounded and realistic version of a rock-star romance with style and substance.

Storming the Castle is a quick, fun, smart, sexy “rocker in hiding” read!

Sam and Faith have such chemistry that it's palpable. From the first day, Sam’s seen the beauty and intelligence in Faith’s actions and body, and he’s fighting his desires to make her his.

Faith has put her daughter first in every aspect of her life—until she finds that she can’t hold back her feelings for Sam any longer.

I really loved these two characters individually and as a whole. Loved that they were smart in resolving issues as their fears as the “real world” and all the pressures and problems tried to break through their bubble. I loved Sam’s relationship with Piper too! So fun.

Storming the Castle is absolutely a stand-alone book. I haven’t read books 1 or 2 and I didn’t feel lost at all! ~ Missy, 4 stars

Such a beautiful story ... I loved all the feels!!
Sam is a rockstar in his prime but he is saturated with the life and needs a break. He comes to rent a cottage in the middle of nowhere and finds a family.
Faith is a single mom who runs the bed and breakfast and Sam's new landlady. Their attraction is instant though both of them are in no place to start a relationship. Both are dealing with stuff in their lives.
They become friends and then more. The slow burn and passion was beautifully written and I was eagerly waiting to see how it would go.
Their friends , the little girl and the dog were a delight. I love Reading about life in small towns and this was just perfect.
This is a love story which wins against all odds and Sam and faith are adorable couple.

Storming the Castle is an opposites attract Contemporary Romance about a single mother running a type of bed and breakfast in the middle of nowhere, and the rock star borderline alcoholic who need some major R&R to find his muse again. The heroine's 5 year old daughter is the one who brings the couple together, which leads to an interesting courtship for the two. There's also some twist and turns, including a shock regarding the heroine's dead husband, including his parents who come out of nowhere and want visitation rights with their granddaughter they refused to acknowledge because for some odd reason the believed the heroine cheated on their son, and got pregnant by some phantom man. A lot to take in here, but it's worth it!

Sam is living the rock and roll style to the max. He's venturing into being an alcoholic, and spends his time partying and sleeping around. One morning after a very rough night, he decides he need a break. He wants to go off the grid, choosing a place where he is anonymous and can spend his days writing songs and essentially vegging out. He chooses a B&B in Georgia, paying an obscene amount of money to the owner (she thinks it's a lot of money) for the next 2 months to be left alone.

Faith is a widow of 6 years with a 5 year old daughter, Piper. She runs a B&B/lodge mainly for hunters, fishers, and the like. She's also a goddess in the kitchen. She has no idea who Sam is, and doesn't really care because he paid cash upfront and keeps to himself. Everything should be going well for Faith, but then her in-laws, her dead husbands parents pop up again wanting rights to Piper, who they refused to acknowledged. When Faith's husband died in a car accident, she was pregnant with Piper, who never knew her father or her grandparents. These people always looked down upon Faith, but she refused to roll over and give them what she wants. She will fight them, especially when she views a video on her husband's old cell phone getting down and dirty (some BDSM also) with a former lawyer co-worker.

Sam can't ignore the outside world for too long. Piper, and her fluffy mountain of a bear dog, Sadie. Also, Faith's amazing cooking makes him come out of isolation. As he bonds with Faith over her cooking they become close, which makes Sam reevaluate his life. Faith enjoys Sam's company, but knows it's temporary because he'll be gone in 2 months. But then when Sam kisses her, she throws caution to the wind, and they begin a hot and heavy sexual relationship that turns their lives upside down, but in a good way.

The big question remains for the two- can the single mother and the rock star god make it work, knowing the world might be against them?

Storming the Castle is an entertaining romance with a couple you'll enjoying reading. The sex between them is hot and heavy. A first Sam comes across as an entitled jerk, but he softens due to the friendliness and home cooking of Faith. She's a good woman with a big heart. The subplot with her in-laws is somewhat out of left field, including her dead husband's shocking sexual escapes that don't really fit the tone here, but it doesn't take away from Sam and Faith's budding relationship. Once Sam "detoxes", which may raise some eyebrows because it's a one and done type of deal, he's a bit softy who longs for normalcy, which Faith and Piper can provide.

The HEA here is a stereotypical fairy tale-esc, but that shouldn't disappoint fans of this type of book. Who doesn't want a romance about a jaded rock star hero finding peace and true love with a heroine with a heart of gold, an adorable little girl, and a loyal dog thrown in the mix?

I really liked this book. A rockstar on his way down the tube with his drinking and he recognizes he's going to hit bottom soon enough, so he decided to pull out, clean himself up and find his muse again.
And it isn't going to happen in rehab. He has his manager find him a secluded place in the middle of nowhere which happens to be in Georgia, his manager books him there for 2 months, pays ahead, sends along a list of what are needs right down to the fancy coffee beans he uses and strict orders he is not be be disturbed. Sam doesn't want to be recognized either, so he cuts his long hair and off he goes to a small B&B in a tiny town. The B&B has 3 cottages and a few rooms in the main house. Faith owns the place, lives there with her 5 year old daughter Piper and is a widow. There's a tricky underlying story there with her dead husband, one that will pique your interest. They also live with their dog, who could pass for part Bear. I loved the dog.
Faith has some really great and supportive girlfriends who are married and either have kids or kids on the way. Sam starts to come out of his hibernation when he starts getting his mojo back which in part he attributes to watching Faith and Piper. No story is quite that simple and there's a twist that comes at you out of the blue, her dead husbands parents now want partial custody of Piper. Faith is beside herself, calls her friend who is an attorney and gets one. Meanwhile earlier in the story Sam gave her 15k to ensure his complete solitude. The other part that brings Sam out of his shell is he runs out of coffee. These two become fast and easy friends and when Piper goes to spend two weeks at Grandma and Grandpap's things take a more intimate turn and spark they did. Yowza!
Faith is a selfless and giving person, and so is Sam when it comes down to it. There are things that play out at the end that you don't really know which way they'll go. The end moves rather quickly so you have to pay attention, but not too fast where you're lost.
This was a great little read. I loved the way Sam sobered up on his own, put Faith and Piper before all else and how dedicated Faith was.
I really enjoyed reading this one.

Sam, a famous singer, has everything he could've ever dreamed of, except his new album completed. The deadline is fast approaching, he's burnt out, and the words just aren't there. Hoping a change is just what he needs, he temporarily relocates to a little town in Georgia. Okay, peace and quiet, do your thing.

Faith, a widow, is feeling a little overwhelmed with all that's going on in her life right now. Not that it isn't usually hectic anyway being a single mom and running a lodge, it's just even more so when her late husband's parents arrive.

Yes, they've noticed each other, and yes, mutual interest abounds, but Sam is there for one reason only, and Faith has too much to do to get involved with a man right now. But fate has a way of nudging us in the direction we truly want to go, even when we don't know it's what we want.

As Sam has rented out the whole bed and breakfast, Faith has a little less work to do, without losing the much needed money. During his stay, the two get to know each other, as well as Sam meeting Piper, Faith's adorable five-year-old daughter.

However, as they slowly start falling, reality intrudes. Faith's former in-laws now want visitation rights for the granddaughter they had previously refused to acknowledge, believing Faith cheated on their son (not true, of course), Sam still has a deadline, not to mention a very public life to eventually return to, Faith also learns some of the secrets her late husband was keeping from her, and they both have to overcome their pasts to see if they can have a future.

Will Sam's lifestyle drive Faith away? Can Sam be happy without all the usual "trappings" his fame comes with? What happens when truths are revealed regarding Faith's marriage? Will Faith risk her heart again? Will Faith come out the victor over her former in-laws? Is there a HEA for Sam, Faith, and Piper?

One-click now and follow along as two people, both with their own issues to work through, decide whether a future together is worth fighting for.

Take one grumpy, burnt-out rock star, add a hard-working single mother, place in a remote woodland setting and throw in a cute child and an adorable bear-dog. Mix vigorously with a hint of family drama and you get this romantic tale that I enjoyed immensely.

It's more of a small town romance than a rocker story, so adjust your expectations accordingly, because it’s all kind of sweet and good, with people who work hard and support each other, rather than taking whatever advantages they can. Sam is very much in need of that kind of easy atmosphere when he arrives, since his life has spiralled out of his control and he’s well on his way to becoming an alcoholic.

Luckily for him, Faith is extremely undemanding. She just wants to raise her daughter and get on with her business, she doesn’t even want to know who he is. There is an immediate attraction between them, but since they don’t act on it, their romance is more of a slow-burn, though it does lead to some heat later on.

I liked that most of the drama in the book actually focused on Faith. I kept expecting more from Sam’s side of things, but Faith’s own battles provide more than enough to fill the book. I’ll admit, some of the revelations were a little unexpected for this type of book, and was constantly waiting for other factors to be brought into play, but it certainly made things interesting. I do, however, think some aspects were resolved a little too easily, not just with Faith, but also Sam (his drinking in particular).

So it’s not perfect, mostly because this is a sweet book with nice feelings that doesn’t want to make anything too grim or gritty. There are a few darker things hinted at, but the plot mostly skates over them to leave everything comforting and cheerful. The characters are decent overall, the setting is beautiful and the whole thing is pretty cute. It was easy and enjoyable and I liked it enough to want to know more about Faith’s friends – so I guess I have some catching up to do in Dale.

Sam Castleton (stage name Sam Castle) is feeling the impact of an impending burn out. His over reliance on alcohol leads him to take steps to recuperate and recharge his batteries away from the spotlight. This leads him to the small town of Dale where he seeks out that calm in his head and help him to write a new album, alcohol free. What he wasn't expecting was how life changing this was going to be for him.

Faith is a widow and a single mom of a five year old girl. Surviving the shock of her husband's death and the treatment from her in laws, she moves away and opens a small bed and breakfast and cabin site. Still trying to build her business she is given a helping hand when a stranger requests the whole site for top dollar. How could she refuse? Once she meets the reclusive man though there is little else she finds she can refuse for him.

This was more a small town romance for the most part and it was so engaging and heart warming from the start. To see how little by little Sam's overbearing temperament was smoothed and eased with his increasing attraction to Faith but also letting a little girl and a tearaway dog into his heart too. The romance was a slow build but made all the more believable and excitable for the possible HEA that I was yearning for. I was not disappointed at all and my only criticism was that it had to end. I really enjoyed this book and one I would definitely recommend. Four stars.

I found myself wanting to finish this book but not loving it too.

It's a small town romance which I love as all the characthers are very supportive and know one another well, the twist is a rock legend comes to hide away.

Faith is a single mum, she is a widow and runs a b&b in the quiet town of Dale, it's her quiet season so she happily takes a long term booking. Faith is a woman with morals, and a strong mummy that knows how to fight when she has to. She has forgotten to be a woman of late, until her new guest arrives!

Sam Castle is a star, his successful and has a supply of woman wanting him, he also has no focus and is slipping down a dangerous path of alcholol. He wants to hide away from the world and pull himself together and hopefully write an album. He doesn't expect to find a sexy widow as his temporary landlady.

The romance side is very gradual and there is another storyline thrown in to add some angst.

It's an easy read, with some sexy scenes. Sometimes there is a sex scene that doesn't work and this book had one for me- when Faith is pleasuring Sam she cups her breasts around his 'piece' while pulling him in elsewhere?? It's worded differently, that's just my explanation. I found myself lifting my boobs and tilting my head trying to figure this out - hubby did come in and ask what I was up to and offered to test it out lol!!

Im giving this 3 stars.

Storming the Castle with its beautiful cover is a sweet heartwarming story. It's low-angst small town romance is a feel good read. The story line between Sam and Faith was the the fairy tale romance Rock Star seeks out quite time and falls for the country girl. And to be honest i would have preferred it to stay just as that. For me it didn't need the extra storylines of in-laws and cheating dead spouses. Don't get me wrong it didn't spoil the story i was just more about Sam and Faith. The other parts were just in the background i didn't connect to that part of the story.

If your looking for a low angst easy feel good read then i think you'll enjoy this one.

Storming the Castle is an enjoyable read!

You will truly come to fall in love with both Faith and Sam.
They both have past baggage, Faith still so due to family stuff that has her reeling....... but between that and everything else, they find a way to create a bond you'll enjoy to watch!

If you're looking for a wonderful romance book where the heroine who has a heart of gold could possibly fall for a jaded rock bad boy....... this is the story for you!!!

3.5 stars from me.

I asked for a copy of this book on Netgallery because the book blurb sounded interesting. It wasn’t until I was halfway through the ebook, when I looked on Goodreads and found it wasn’t the first book in a series of books. Not the first time it has happened to me, it’s really annoying but it doesn’t matter as the book can be read as a stand-alone book, and they work really well. In saying that I really liked this book, I think that Arianna Hart is a great writer. I now want to read the rest of the books in the series.
The book follows a single mother Faith, and her cute as daughter, Piper and their life as they go through ups and downs with a few twists and turns to make their lives just a little bit harder. Sam, a rocker star on the edge of destruction, who finds himself in a little country town, where Faith and her daughter lives, to detox from alcohol and the high life that he is living, that is essentially killing him. With 2 months of paid complete silence at Faith’s bed and breakfast ranch, Sam learns to become the man he knew he can be. With no alcohol, a great company and food to take his mind off the life he used to lead, Sam starts to write music again and learns to fall in love.
“This wasn’t how she’d been raised, how she wanted to raise Piper. How could she bankrupt her morality and then tell Piper to do the right thing? God, what a hypocrite” loc2315.
I loved this book. It took me a little bit of time to read it, but that is not because it was a bad book, but rather not enough reading time. I loved it from the first page to the last page. It’s about love and redemption, learning to trust and being yourself. It is about a lot of things, but the one thing I love the most about this book, is that is about family.
Great writing, great flow, just an all-round great read for anyone who loves romance novels as this one will make you cry for sure.

Storming the Castle is a sweet read. Sam Castle is a rockstar who's had enough. Enough of his lifestyle, enough of waking up with a hangover. So he has his manager find him a place in the middle of nowhere where he can have some peace and quiet and he can dry out. He doesn't want to go to rehab, he just wants to be alone, figure out how to write music again, and be at peace. Faith is the woman who owns the bed and breakfast his manager rents out for Sam. She's got a little girl that she's put her whole into raising, pandering to a rockstar isn't on her agenda. She doesn't even recognize Sam, and Sam prefers it that way.

But, as the two start spending more time together, Sam falls for both Faith and her adorable daughter, Piper. But, can Faith ever hope to fit into his rockstar life? And can she fight off Piper's grandparents' bid for custody? I loved seeing Sam slowly open up to Faith and Piper and fall in love with them. Storming the Castle is definitely different from the normal rockstar romance, it's much sweeter, less sex, drugs and rock n roll and more sweet, small town romance.

I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review. This book tells the story of Sam Castleton and Faith Adams. Sam is a famous singer who is going through the cliche rich guy crisis after becoming disillusioned with his rock-and-roll lifestyle. This is especially frustrating for him since he can't seem to write any new music, which means no new album for the record label. So Sam's manager arranges for him to spend a couple of months in a cabin in the woods of Dale, Georgia to re-group. The cabin being rented happens to be owned by Faith, a single mom with a lot on her plate, including running her B&B and raising her daughter, Piper. Sam spends time getting his feet back under him; exercising, not drinking, eating right, and spending some quality time with Faith and Piper. His muse thankfully returns and he comes up with some great, if different, new material, mostly based on his new feelings for Faith. But can a country girl and a rock-and-roll celebrity really make it work in the long term?
Overall I really liked this book. Faith was a fierce heroine who was also incredibly vulnerable and I really liked the dichotomy between those aspects of her character. And Sam was dark, brooding, sensitive and steamy, everything that a hero should be in a romance novel. This book was pretty steamy, Sam and Faith lit up the pages with their chemistry and it made the book feel more emotional as well. The plot line was interesting and engaging, there was enough going on to hold the reader's interest. This book had great supporting characters and a cute/sweet ending. I would be interested to read more by this author, and I would recommend this one for a great summer read!

Sam Castleton is a rock star with a drinking problem. He's looking for an off the grid location to dry out & write his next album.
Faith Adams is a widowed mother who owns a bed & breakfast in the middle of nowhere, small town, Dale, Georgia. She's just trying to support her daughter & run her B & B when an unbeknownst to her famous man asks to be her only guests for a few months. Can she help him get sober? Can he show her how to trust again?

I really enjoyed this book. I picked it up hoping to get a sweet, small town romance with a likable cast of characters. That's exactly what this story gave me.

I'll admit the first chapter had me thinking twice about continuing. Sam seemed like a big headed jerk & I can stand those heroes. However once he arrives in Dale his true self is shown & much more likable.

I appreciated the way the author betrayed Faith as a strong, independent, single mother. A lot of times I read romances with children in them that are conveniently absent through most of the story making it completely unbelievable.

This book is perfect for a light hearted, sweet, quick read.
I've heard that Arianna Hart has other books set in Dale, GA with characters we from Storming the Castle. I'll definitely be checking them out soon.

Sam Castleton is worried that he has a drinking problem and can't seem to write any songs for his upcoming album. So, he's decided to go completely off the radar in order to get his head on straight. Arriving in Dale, Georgia makes him feel better than he has in a while, especially once he meets single mother, Faith Adams. But Sam is only going to be in town for two months, there's no possible way he could start something with her. However, the more time Sam spends with Faith, the more he wants to make their growing relationship permanent. Will Sam be able to convince Faith to give him a shot at happy ever after, or is the fact that their lives are worlds apart keep Faith from getting the second chance at love she deserves?

I've read several books by Ms. Hart and enjoyed all of them, but this is the first book I've read of this series, and I've got to say it was a riveting and fast-paced read that held my attention from start to finish. The way this story started had me liking the hero immediately, because he's making the best decision he's made for himself in quite a while and it's about time he finally starts to see how his life as a musician is leading him down a path he doesn't want to stay on. Will he be able to write songs once he gets himself straightened out? Will he find a way to cease the terrible drinking habit he has? However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time in this story that had me hooked, because Sam is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure his stay in Dale remains a secret.

Both the main characters were entertaining, as to were the secondary characters that are determined to see Faith happy. The heroine's friends are wonderful, especially Mary Ellen who is a total hoot and says whatever is on her mind. Moreover, the dialogue was compelling and made this story a real page turner, as Sam and Faith get to know each other, the battle Faith faces for custody of her daughter and whether the hero and heroine can overcome the major obstacle they face to achieve their happy ever after. Will Faith take a chance and put her trust in Sam? Will Sam prove that he's nothing like her ex-husband, even though his profession has women tempting him all the time?

As for the heroine, she's been through so much since her husband's death after discovering his betrayal. Having to care for her daughter all alone has been a wonderful experience for her, as her daughter is inquisitive, loves exploring and brings absolute enjoyment to the lives of everyone she meets, especially Sam although they get off to a rocky start. However, I felt sorry for Faith when it came to the custody battle she faces and whether she'll win. While Sam, he was such an enjoyable hero and I loved the challenges he faced along the way with the heroine, his music and his battle to stay sober. I also liked the words to the songs he composed and the things he did for the two females in his life at the moment. His words and actions were heartwarming and showed how much he's come to care for Faith and her daughter.

Overall, Ms. Hart has penned a wonderful read in this book where the chemistry between the main characters entertained me from start to finish, especially when they finally moved their relationship from platonic to physical and Sam made Faith feel loved for the first time in a long time when it came to men and relationships. The way this story ended had me cheering for this couple's happy ever after, as Faith needs to realize that she can trust Sam, especially when he's trying to do everything possible to be with her. However, what I liked most about the ending was the decision Faith made when it came to the custody battle for her daughter and the surprises the hero and heroine had for each other. I would recommend Storming the Castle by Arianna Hart, if you enjoy small town romances, the opposites attract trope, or books by authors Ashlee Mallory, Heather Long, Robin Bielman or Sarina Bowen.

Sam Castleton is one of America's greatest rock musicians, and he's completely lost himself in the rockstar lifestyle. Terrified that he's well on his way to alcoholism, and in an attempt to get his muse back, he checks himself into an out of the way hunting lodge/bed and breakfast for some peace and quiet.

The bed and breakfast is run by Faith Adams, a young single mother doing the best she can. Her husband died before she even knew that she was pregnant, so she's used to doing things on her own. She's lonely, but her daughter is her priority and no sexy rock star is going to change that.

Can Sam and Faith put their fears and misgivings aside to give into their mutual attraction?

This book left me feeling very... indifferent. It's not that it's a bad book, it just wasn't amazing. It follows the standard contemporary romance plotline and pacing, although there are a couple of twists thrown in to keep us on our toes. None of this is necessarily bad, but it didn't make for the most exciting book.

There were some things that threw me off, like the former in-laws suing for custody. What was the point of it? They'd never wanted anything to do with Piper before, and even during the custody battle, they didn't seem to care about much aside from just winning. I had hoped that their motivations might be made clear at the end, but the brief answer we got seemed half-hearted and underdeveloped. The whole plot line just seemed to be there to prove that Faith was A Good Person™ despite everything that had happened to her.

And, brief spoiler ahead...

Anyway. I also thought it was kind of weird that Faith was so adamantly against casual sex and then she was just flinging herself at Sam. I mean, good for you, Faith, I'm glad that you're finally getting back out there after five years or whatever of celibacy. Clearly I have no problem with reading about sex (I mean, look at my recent reviews), but there was no transition. It's just like one minute she's super anti-sex, and the next she's like, "Wait, how many condoms do we have left?"

I also thought that the ending wrapped up a little too neatly and quickly for my liking, but overall, I did like the characters (particularly Sam) and I appreciated the strong female friendships that constantly figured into the plot. This book was, more than anything else, very readable and I really did fly through it. Piper was the cutest and I loved how much she loved Sam. He was adorable with her as well, and much like in real life, I like the guys in my books to be good with kids.

If you're into books about rock stars looking to settle down, you're sure to enjoy this one.

Final rating: somewhere between 2.5 and 3 stars

Sam Castleton is best known as Sam Castle hot rocker at least for the last twelve years. Of which, most have all become a blur lately. The last few years his tour schedule has been brutal to the point that he can’t figure out what city, town or country he’s waking up in.
Forget about what he did the night before and who he did it with. Women were in and out of his life models, actress, waitress, and nurses. His last girlfriend was a crazy model he was glad to be rid of but once again she was trying to make a play for him. He had enough last go around.
When he woke up one morning and he didn’t know where he was, still semi drunk, looked like hell and felt like it too. He knew he needed time off the roller coaster, time to himself, and away from everyone. He got his manager to set it up. He wanted two months so far off the beaten path no one would find him.
Well, he got it he ended up in Dale, Georgia. At a hunting lodge run by a single mom, Faith Adams. She’s a widow of almost six years her daughter Piper is five and starting kindergarten soon. The place is a bed and breakfast with the main house having four rooms for guest and the other side of the house is the family side. Then she has two of three cottages refurbished.
When his manager secures one of the little cottages it’s with the understanding that he gets total and he meant total seclusion. He needed the kitchen fully stocked for the two months, sheets, towels, a certain type of coffee and maker, was sent to her. She agrees.
Upon, Sam’s arrival he was instantly attracted to the five foot nothing, curvy in all the right places and an ass to die for inn keeper. Boy, was he in trouble. Were his first thoughts. So, curtly he asked, “So, you will be keeping guest away from me?”
She says, “If I had any I would. I won’t have any for a couple of weeks from now.” He asks, “How much would you make if all of the rest of the place was rented out for the two months I was here?” She starts trying to figure it out. He says, “How much per room inside? And how much per cottage?” She tells him and then he looks at her. Then, he looks at her and says, “So, roughly fifteen thousand. I’ll pay you that in cash if you cancel the renters that are coming and don’t take in anyone else.” She agrees.
Now is when life gets interesting mainly because she has no clue who he is. It kind of bruise his ego but its works in his favor too. Her friends that pop over all the time, however, he isn’t so lucky with, however. But they agree to keep his secret.
This was a very cute fast paced story. The characters were engaging and funny. Their quirky personalities keep you interested. The sweetness of their blossoming romance unfolding was nice to see unfold.

Let’s start this review off by being absolutely honest, I only looked at Storming The Castle because the cover is gorgeous. The sunset mixed with the couple mixed with the font. It just makes for the perfect cover. Sadly the book doesn’t quite live up to the cover. That doesn’t mean Storming The Castle isn’t a bad book, but it’s not a great book either.

Sam Castleton is feeling burnt out on the rockstar life. Fearing he’s becoming an alcoholic and knowing he has no muse to speak of, he needs a quiet and secluded place to hide away for the summer so he can get his life together and write a new album. Enter Dale, Georgia. Those familiar with Hart’s other novels will be familiar with the setting and characters as they all make cameos. While in Dale, Sam rents out an entire bed and breakfast owned by a single mother who just happens to have no idea who he is.

Faith Adams has been widowed for almost six years. It hasn’t been easy but she’s made it work, especially with finding out she was pregnant after her husband died. Opening the bed and breakfast was her way of making sure she could be around her child and still be able to provide for her daughter at the same time. As the years go by she finds herself becoming a bit lonely but not enough to actually want to act on her feelings because there’s more than just herself to think about, there’s her daughter Piper. But then Sam enters their lives and there’s just something about him that Faith can’t seem to let go.

So, let’s get down to the nitty gritty of it. Storming The Castle was just okay. It was awesome that it wasn’t your average rockstar romance, which I loved. Sam was a great character. And so was Faith. Really, I liked all the characters. A lot. Even down to Faith’s in-laws who seemed to be hell-bent on making Faith’s life a nightmare. I understood them all. But the whole story just seemed a bit… much? A lot of the conversations seemed forced and the situations awkward. And for someone who valued their privacy and wanted to keep a low profile, Sam was doing a lot of things around Dale. It just seemed a bit unbelievable at times.

But that’s not to say everything about Storming The Castle was bad. Like I said, I did enjoy the characters. They were funny and endearing. Dale did have that small town feel that I enjoy in books of this nature. There was a charm to the book as well but you had to really stick with it to find it, and it mostly had to do with Sam and his growing as a character.

This was the first book I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it!

The book was totally different than what I was expecting as the hero is a rockstar.

First, the setting is in country Georgia in a little town called Dale. The town only has about 500 inhabitants so you can imagine the dynamics between the characters.

Sam Castle has a massive case of writer’s block and is contracted to produce another album. He’s just finished the last show of his tour and wakes to find that he can’t remember what happened or where he was. All he knows is that he needs a drink! This makes him think that he could possibly be an alcoholic. The thought scares him enough that he tells his manager that he needs a break, a real break, from everything.

Sam’s manager finds him a cottage to rent for two months at Adam’s Hunting Lodge so that he can get act together and to dry out.

The woman who runs the hunting lodge, Faith Adams, catches Sam’s eye as soon as he checks in. But he’s determined to get his act together and get the creative juices flowing once more.

Faith is a little spitfire and also a single mom after her husband tragically died in a car accident. She has a gorgeous five year-old daughter, Piper, who is just a little ball of energy.

Ms Hart’s descriptive writing truly sold me on this book. I love her writing style and her characters were awesome. Mary Ellen, who is Faith’s best friend in the book, totally cracked me up. Truly, the supporting characters in the book were just as good as the main characters. The storyline kept me intrigued throughout the entire book and it was a really well developed story. The plot twists towards the end had me dying to find out what happens next.

I definitely would recommend this book to any readers who are interested in a swoon worthy rockstar!

Sam Castleton has everything that he always thought he wanted, fame, money, houses all over the world, and any woman he wants. But suddenly, he finds that none of it is making him happy, as he stays drunk most of the time, and cannot write a new album to save his life. So he gets his manager to put him somewhere where he can get his head on straight, and Dale, Georgia seems perfect. Faith Adams is a widowed, single mother working hard to provide her daughter a good life. So when the new stranger in her cabin offers a whole lot of money to keep everyone away, she agrees, especially since her daughter's paternal grandparents have decided to get involved in their lives. Each has their own problems, but as they come to know each other, neither can deny the chemistry threatening to light up the Georgia sky. Storming the Castle was a surprise in the Rocker Romance, and I did enjoy the story line. First of all, the colorful cast of secondaries kept me rolling in laughter until my sides hurt, and I couldn't get enough of them. I really liked Sam and Faith, but for whatever reason, just didn't imprint on them as strongly as I like to on my new book friends, (<-MY OPINION), even though I couldn't help cheering them on. Arianna Hart has an original writing style that shone with talent, and she's definitely intrigued me, especially with hilarious banter between the friends. Plus those tiny humans were adorable, and seriously feisty. I will be reading more of her, and I wouldn't be adverse to seeing more of Faith and Sam in the future, so I'm going to HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

in this contemporary romance, musician sam castleton finds love in the hills of georgia with faith evans, the owner of a small bed & breakfast/hunting lodge. he's got a serious case of writer's block and a record due, and on top of that his last tour has left him so empty and overwhelmed that he's resorted to drinking to excess.

renting out the entire lodge to secure his privacy and find a way to get himself back on track, the last thing sam expects is to connect with faith. she's a single mom who has no idea who he is. she couldn't be further from his rock-and-roll lifestyle if she tried. and yet, maybe someone who has no expectations from him is exactly who he needs.

the fact that he is attracted to her doesn't hurt either. and the fact that she inspires him. well, that's even better. even if the music is a departure from his angry, anti-authoritarian rock anthems. what makes sam and faith such a great couple in storming the castle, is that they bring out the best in each other even as they learn that they are more than what they thought they could be. when they are together they really are their best selves.

i also loved that there was no huge drama or crazy separation where they had to beg each other for forgiveness. they had a little fight, stewed about it for about half a day and then had a rational adult conversation. i love it when the couples in romance novels behave like rational adults. too often they suddenly become soap opera caricatures to create drama and i find that so unnecessary.

but that is not the case here. it's a sweet, enjoyable romance. the perfect thing to read on a lazy summer afternoon.

Small town, opposites attract, romance between a rockstar and single mom.

Storming the Castle by Arianna Hart was my first read by this author but I really enjoyed this small town romance between a rockstar and a single mom. Taking on opposites attract, the book is well written and moves at a nice steady pace with a few twists and turns to keep the reader intrigued from start to finish.

Sam is a rockstar nearing rock bottom personally while Faith is a determined single mom trying to do her best having been scorned by love. Told from dual points of view, Sam and Faith have a chemistry that simmers and builds at a realistic pace as they grow closer until both can’t hold back any longer and things heat up. There were some great secondary characters that added extra dimensions to the two characters but Faith in particular given her slightly reserved nature. I loved seeing the little interactions between Sam and Faith’s daughter, Piper, as it added that extra likability to Sam’s character.

I enjoyed this and would definitely consider reading more by this author.

Nice read, but I didn’t love is as much as I wanted.

We have Faith and Sam. Faith has had a lot of tough times, but now that her life is more stable, she’s happy with her job and raising her daughter. But after meeting Sam, she realizes that maybe she needed a little more after all.

The story mostly focuses on Faith and her everyday life, which wasn’t much appealing to me, to be honest. I felt there were scenes with a lot of details that I had no interest in, and sometimes the story moved rather slowly. Faith wasn’t a bad character and I loved her scenes with her daughter, but I did feel there were some questionable decisions on her part.

Sam was there to take a break of his life, and try to write songs again. He was a good character and we learned a bit of his background, but for some reason I just couldn’t picture him with Faith that well.

They both got along well and they certainly needed each other in this point of their lives, but I just couldn’t really fall in love with them as a couple.

Still, the story is entertaining, with romance, drama and some conflicts here and there. Just enough to make it enjoyable.

Sam really needed some time to himself to recharge and evaluate his life. His rocker lifestyle has started to take a toll and he’s moving ever closer to being a horrible cliché. A cabin in the middle of nowhere, isolation, and a chance to get his head on straight is all he wants. But he doesn’t count on his sexy landlord.

Faith leads a very quiet life and is happy that way. Her newest tenant may have some strange requests (and come across as a grump) but she could use the money. Especially as things get a little heated with her in-laws. But a she gets to know Sam a little better she realizes that there is more to him than she thought … and she’s interested in finding out even more.

There’re troubles for both but things are relatively drama free between the two of them. Sam is very supportive and gives of himself once he gets involved. Faith has some problems thanks to her past but she does her best to handle them and look forward to the future. Especially a future that includes Sam. Storming the Castle is a lovely read of people getting to each other, taking stock of their lives, and deciding the direction they want to go.
