They were just friends when they got married. Jill desperately needed a father for her unborn child, and Vince Patrizio wanted to give them both his name. And if Jill could ever learn to love him, he'd consider himself a fortunate man.
Then Jill walked out of his life.
But eleven years later, it's Vince's turn to have his say. Arriving in Jill's sleepy California town, he has plans to transform it into a mini Vegas…to reclaim his wife…and to meet the son who should have been theirs.
And Vince isn't leaving until he gets what he came for.
Prior to writing romance, award-winning, USA Today Bestseller Melinda Curtis was a junior manager for a Fortune 500 company, which meant when she flew on the private jet she was relegated to the jump seat—otherwise known as the potty. After grabbing her pen (and a parachute) she made the jump to full-time writer. Between writing sweet romance and sweet romantic comedy, Melinda finds time to bond with her husband over home remodeling projects. She recently came to grips with the fact that she’s an empty nester and a grandma, concepts easier to grasp than jet-setting on a potty.

I like her quirky stuff but it didn't quite gel in this book. Mobster-type hero out to construct an Indian casino in a little town where his wife is mayor. But it was a marriage of convenience where they haven't met in years. Abrupt ending. Quick reread 2022 .. stand by above review.
Jill and Vince entered a marriage of convenience years ago. Although he kept tabs on her, he never contacted her... until he's served divorce papers.
Vince is a fish out of water in little Harmony Valley, but the townspeople only want to make sure that their Jill and Teddy are going to be OK.
I loved this story. I liked seeing the town regulars interact with Vince, Jill, Glamma, and Teddy. I loved the transition from suspicion to protection. Definitely worth reading!
This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from Booksprout.
I was barely done reading the first chapter when it hit me…the heroine is a whiner! Lovely, just what I needed. Whiny heroines are a pet peeve of mine. Complain if you must, but do you have to whine! Get a grip. So you can see that I didn’t like Jill all that much. I liked Vince but something about him got on my nerves as well.
The plot itself was interesting. I enjoyed the banter between Jill and Vince, but Vince and Teddy were the show stoppers.
Not great, not terrible, it was a good read for a rainy afternoon.
