This is a children's book written probably on a second or third grade level. It's about three boys who notice some unusual things happening at a vacant house down the street. They discover some "shady" men going in and out of the house and decide to find out what they are carrying in and out of the house that's supposed to be vacant. Of course, in the end, the boys are in danger, but the police arrive just in time. They become heroes, but their parents don't consider them heroes and ground them for two weeks.
While the book has nothing explicitly bad in it and the mystery is a little interesting, it is edifying or beneficial in any way. Disobeying parents for no good reason is not shown as wrong.
