Breezy, Windy and Lovely

This is a wonderful poetic rhyming book all about a windy day. It is a breath of fresh air with its wind blown illustrations. This picture book is great for the beginning readers because of the repeat words. They can put their fingers under the words and feel very proud as they can see them spell them and read them. I highly recommend this book for the feeling of calm and joy you and your kiddo will feel at the end.

There's no real story line, but rather a rhyming list of things the wind does in spring (e.g. "Warm wind makes the wind chimes ring. Warm wind helps a hammock swing."). There's a spread at the back that explains a bit about what wind is (air moving) and how humans measure and harness it (anemometers & wind turbines generating electricity). This could easily be used with toddlers (2-3 year olds), but there's not enough story and not enough actual science facts for older kids.

Poem in a picture book. The wind in the book is characterized as a warm wind. For further learning, there is a small section at the end that discusses wind.

Cute little board book about Spring winds and what they do throughout the day (blow a hat, pet a cat, etc). Love that it rhymes. Good illustrations. But a little lengthy for group storytime.

Warm wind makes spring enjoyable. Join a little kitten and puppy as they explore their world and enjoy the feel of the warm wind of spring. They encounter all sorts of animals and places as they romp and play in the springtime wind. Puppy and kitten will learn all about wind as they run through the city and countryside.

Bright, colorful illustrations fill each page. Large font, rhyming lyrical words, and simple vocabulary make this a fun to read book for young children. The story is told with the illustrations and tells the reader all of the things that the wind does to make the world special. At the end of the book, the reader will find interesting and fun facts about wind. The publisher has included additional resources online. The website has projects, games, and more that children can access to learn more about the subject. Parents will enjoy the rhythmic reading style and the education the children are learning while having fun. This book would make a great addition to any classroom and could be used for science or story time reading.

I received this book free of charge from Children's Lit in exchange for my honest review.

A Windy Day in Spring is a cute illustration about a puppy and A kitten and they learn about spring, and winds, all while exploring the city and country. Every child can relate to a kitten or a puppy and what better way to introduce them to the season of Spring.
