It was 2006 when Andy Sachs tossed her phone in Les fontaines de la Concorde and left Miranda Priestly stranded without an assistant in the middle of Paris Fashion Week. Almost a year later, a chance encounter turns out to be only the beginning as Andy soon realizes that a life without Miranda Priestly may not be what she seeks after all.

Truth and Measure by Telanu is still my nr 1 Devil Wears Prada fic...

...but this came very close to taking that spot. After wondering what I was going to do with my life after having read the phenomenon that is T&M I decided to snoop around in the DWP fan fiction pond and boy did I find a winner. I am very curious as to who exactly this author is because just like Telanu this person is no amateur when it comes to writing.

This fic is very well paced even though it spans several years which is often a hit and miss for even seasoned writers. The author managed in my opinion to capture the characters flawlessly and thus creating some truly fantastic moments between Miranda and Andy. There are moments when you will laugh but also cry and it's all written in a way that feels very natural instead of forced which occurs a lot in fan fiction.

Though so far I've only read part 1 I have no doubts parts 2 and 3 will not disappoint. Definitely give this a try if you liked T&M!

The entire "Not Everyone" verse can be found here it contains 3 fics with a total of 201,569 words, so it's quite a read and should be well worth it.

Holy moly, Not Everyone was one epic read! Kudos to author spacedmuch for creating something so remarkable. This Devil Wears Prada fan fic is quality-wise right up there with Telanu’s work. Top notch writing! I highly recommend!!

f/f explicit

Themes: deliciously angsty, plenty of LOL(!) moments, the twins were marvelously portrayed, Emily remains a favorite character and a great comic relief, hot sexy times, very believable progression of the romance between Miranda and Andrea, with these two you just can’t do the insta-love thing.

I was so sad after T&M because after reading that masterpiece, how could anything top that? I mean, nothing really. That book is perfection and I was heartbroken because I knew deep down that I would never find something quite spectacular, but then... I saw this fic and the reviews and decided to give it a chance and I’m so happy!! I mean, it’s not on the same level as T&M because that book will always be superior to everything, but this fic was quite good!! I didn’t even feel the time pass as I read it because the story was so enthralling and beautiful that I couldn’t stop reading. I’m really super happy that I read this one. Everything about it is flawless! 100% recommend! 😍

5 Stars for this first reread. I read it first over a year ago and rated it 3stars. Since I’m in a real reading slump of published books - I always go back to fan fiction and my goto are DWP stories. I didn’t write a review so I can’t remember why I only gave it 3 Stars. Oh, well it’s now a well deserved 5 star slow-burn romance.

The story opens in Paris and Andy is packing to make her escape back to NYC. She does well at The Mirror and a year later she runs into Miranda at a Starbucks no less. It’s another year later at the launch of the new magazine L’Homme - a male Runway headed by Niles that the meet again and so the romance slowly begins. What is helpful is each chapter indicates how many months have passed since Paris.

What I really like about Spacedmuch’s writing in this story are her characters. She does the 2 MCs & Niles well and Emily is still Emily but is likable and less cartoonish. Roy is more fleshed out, and her original characters are also well done as are the twins. She makes them distinctly different.

If you are a DWP fan, definitely check this one out.

This is an excellent take on the DWP universe. I really enjoyed that it tackled the issue of how the media would handle the age-gap in their relationship. I also really liked how the rest of the world progressed in this book, that the side characters from the movie played a more active role in the book.

PS: This is more for me but I most probably won't read the sequels to this. After reading Alexis's review and reading the last chapter. In some weird twisted way, this spoiled the impression this book gave of knowing, even tho I won't read it, that they have such a hard time after this one is really depressing.

I think it's safe to say that after reading Truth and Measure-verse by Telanu, we, lesfic and DWP fans, have never been the same. Until now, I still have yet to read another DWP fanfic that holds a candle to that masterpiece. Though I'm happy to say, Not Everyone managed to graze the edges of that critically acclaimed #1 spot holder in my heart.

Much like in T&M, the voices of the characters stayed true to those of in the film. I'm not sure how it is comparable to the original book characters 'cause I haven't read that one yet. *oops*

I'm keeping myself from rereading T&M yet, so as to attempt to bring back the sense of newness once I pick it up again at some point in the future. So to fill the void left by missing T&M, I scoured AO3 and found this piece, and I'm glad I did.

This fic had me grinning from ear to ear. I know for a fact that much of the success of a DWP fanfic relies heavily on the dialogues, as almost all its characters are quick-witted and entertaining in their own right. On this test, Not Everyone passed with flying colors. It's not too angsty, and is very well-written given that the plot was simple. And I loved how it gave the secondary characters a well-deserved "screen time."

I'm really looking forward to reading the sequels. If you loved T&M, definitely check this one out.

Kudos to spacedmuch! I enjoyed reading Not Everyone almost as much as Telanu’s Truth and Measure.

This story has a second chance vibe to it in that after Andy and Miranda’s professional relationship ends, they begin a MirAndy-esque romantic journey, which is a bumpy ride to say the least. The level of angst wasn’t bad but just enough to where I wanted to shake a few characters, hard. However, if it had not been for the interference influence of said characters, then the story’s roller-coaster ending would not have occurred.

The main storytellers are Andy and Miranda. In addition, Nigel, Emily, and the twins give some insight into MirAndy world. Based on these additional POVs, I think I have a better understanding of Andy and Miranda’s relationship. (Perhaps Andy and Miranda’s POVs would have been enough ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Also, the image of Miranda, “Fashion Queen of New York,” at a stove, cooking while wearing some designer blouse and tailored-made pants and brushing back that sexy forelock...yeah...well...yeah!

Anyhoo, women of power, determination, town car meetings, stubbornness, and the smarmy paparazzi make this book an entertaining read from start to finish and one I am sure I will read again before the year is over.
