I own this book.

This is a short and concise introduction to Wicca. Wicca as a whole is a complex topic, it has a lot off paths, connected beliefs and rules and this book provides a nice intro to the different paths. It talks you through the history of the terminology, such as witch, and why this remains a pertinent religion and choice in the modern day. It goes through the basic tools a witch should have on their alter and the ground rules for starting practice. It also contains some basic spells for health, vitality, family, good vibes and so on. I would recommend this for beginner witches and those interested in wicca as a whole.

Finnaly. An easy read that makes the first steps basics of wicca actually accesable. I've been fascinated by paganism since i was about 18, maybe even before hand. But like so many things of an unusual nature, every bugger is an expert and one answer is never the same as anyone else's so that state of mind really makes learning the craft as it were very difficult indeed. All i needed was somewhere to start and somewhere to begin to form my own ideas. Thats's where this beautiful little number comes in.
It's got quite a bouncy jolly feel to it, not to heavy going and eases you into the philosophy and ethics but with some smiles along the way. Everything in this is very accesable and caters to persons either practising solo or in a group, but the point is that this is for normal people with normal lives in normal homes. There's nothing elite or indeed exclusive about this which i love! The stories that lend context to the different sections fascinated me the most, that these practices can be applied to the life and times of the 21st century. When reading this it helped me a lot and gave me ideas to go away and read more and where to go from here on in. If like me you've gone through life without a dying clue of where to go and what to do, this book is the best kick off you could ask for. The author is on your side working with you rather than you following her ways and her teachings. This book does it's upmost to promote self help and self initiative. To form your own ideas and theories. Plus its a short read, its not heavy going, its very light and can devoured quite quickly as well as being a lovely reference for your first "spells" and such.
