My 14 year old son is being homeschooled, but this book is NOT just for homeschoolers.

Really great set up for this devotional/interactive guide. Every chapter is only a few pages long with multiple questions at the end for students to fill in their answers. I am a big fan of Tim Tebow's. Seriously, what can anyone truly say bad about this guy??!!? He is living his life for real and shows a lot of vulnerability in this book sharing stores from his youth. I think this is a great book especially for boys and even though my son is not sports minded, this book was still incredibly inclusive for him. Kids are so awkward at this age and seeing someone has lived through it, thriving amongst difficulties, is a great encouragement!

I received this book from the publisher but was not required to leave a review. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Tim Tebow, the football player that took the world by storm. Whether the media loved him or hated him, he was in the news quite frequently and then he seemed to disappear. Well, for those of you who were wondering, the football quarterback went from FL State, to the Broncos, to the Jets, to a newscaster, to a minor league baseball team. That’s quite a big change, but that was God’s plan for him.

Know Who You Are – Live Like it Matters is actually a homeschool teaching tool. I was surprised when I opened it up that it would not be a biography-spiritual guiding book. But I guess that’s what I get for not fully reading the synopsis. But I am glad that it ended up on my bookshelf. My husband and I have been talking about homeschooling our future kids. (The school district around here is terrible; even the private schools and academies aren’t great.)

This book is broken into a 36 week study to help young people discover who they are in their faith and to help them live out that faith. Each lesson starts with a Bible verse, Tebow then gives a three page lesson about the verse. He brings his personal experiences and lessons he himself has learned into this study. It’s very personal. The next section of the lesson contains questions for the reader to answer in a journal. And finally, there is one little piece of wisdom at the end of each chapter.

I was really surprise by this book. I actually think it was a great idea. The journal aspect is one of my favorites. It gives the reader freedom to expound on each lesson and the questions ask you to really dig deep and reflect on yourself. It helps young people to figure out who you are in Christ, to nurture your relationships, and to go out and love others.

Tebow Encourages You To Live A Life That Matters

Tim Tebow is a true inspiration in how he lives his life and I have read a few of his other books. The content of this book is very similar to other Tebow books but this one is written for home schooled kids to understand their true identity and worth. There are 36 short chapters, each with an interactive lesson at the end that allows kids to stop and reflect on each lesson and apply the learning to their lives.

I mistakenly got this book without noticing it was for homeschooled students. As soon as I saw that it was a Tim Tebow book, I knew it would be great and filled with good insights and values. My older sons really respect him and enjoy reading his books so I thought that I would pass it along to them after reading it.

Although a book written for home school students is not relevant to me, I am not marking down my rating because of this. There is a lot of similar content to other books but it should really appeal to kids who are homeschooled because it speaks more directly to them. Tim Tebow does so much to encourage good values and principles in the lives of our youth. He is a wonderful role model and I would recommend this book to someone who might have homeschooled kids.

My Review:

Tim Tebow in our home is known more for his stand for Christ than for anything else. His ethics and morals have catapulted him far above any celebrity out there to date. My family real respects him and we always listen if he has something important to say. He has a lot of people, especially young people looking up to him and following him everywhere throughout social media.

He is using his soapbox moment to teach our kids that there is more out there than the right phones, trendy gadgets or fast cars. We need to encourage them to hear him out. This book is especially geared towards homeschoolers so I just had to get it for my boys.

Tim will guide you through thirty-six weeks of lessons, each based on a key Scripture, to discover who you are--by learning more about whose you are! You will also have the opportunity to write down your thoughts, feelings, and ideas on topics such as:

A great way to start the upcoming school year off right and in the right direction. I'm going to give this book to my 15 year old and hopefully I will see a change in him throughout the year, especially how he views academics.

Know Who You Are, Live Like It Matters: A Homeschooler's Interactive Guide To Discovering Your True Identity by Tim Tebow (with A. J. Gregory) is a 36-week journey to finding and learning to live out your true identity in Christ. With weekly lessons that include journaling prompts, Tim writes to homeschoolers from his personal experiences in life as a homeschooled student.

Lessons include scripture verses, personal stories, biblical examples, and questions designed to make you rethink about your life and refocus your goals to keep Christ at the center, no matter what other dreams you're pursuing.

When I ordered this book, I was slightly concerned about the possibility of it being overly influenced by Tim's career in sports - nobody in my house is a sports fan in any manner. That being said, while there are plenty of references to his sports background (both as a teen and an adult), Tim does a wonderful job at keep it easy to follow and focusing on God. So even those of us that don't do sports can still enjoy and learn from his insights.

While geared toward homeschooled high school students, this book is perfect for young adults of any educational background who want to reexamine their current path in order to make sure that it's aligned with the path God has in mind for their lives. I also would not hesitate to recommend it to any Christians (new believers and longtime followers of the faith) of any age who want a refresher on where their life is headed and a reality check on how well they are meeting God's goals rather than their own.

My husband and I are both in our 30's and I plan on handing it to him to read before passing it off to our homeschooled teenage daughter. The only accommodation I'd make for an older audience is just to point out that you could go through it as daily lessons to review and reflect on your life rather than just reading one lesson a week.

For young adults, stick to weekly lessons and really let it soak in as much as possible. Also, parents should definitely get involved and either read the entire book (or each lesson) before handing it to their kid or just have a discussion on the material covered each week. 5/5 stars.

Why would a woman who hates sports take this book for her children? Because, whether you hate or love football—Tim Tebow stands for something and I admire that. I felt that my children could learn something from this book and the fact that it is written for homeschoolers made it icing on the cake.

I was surprised by how much I liked this book. Though geared towards young adults, I appreciated the book and will definitely re-read it when my girls start the lesson plan. It includes thirty-six lessons which are broken down into four parts. Tim gives an example of how the lesson applied to his life and then provides inspirational scriptures and writing prompts.

One thing that I really appreciated is that Tim encouraged the parents to not treat this book as graded material. The point of this book is to encourage and uplift homeschoolers in their spiritual life more than it is meant to be used as a textbook course.

This was a fantastic book and I would honestly read books by Tim Tebow again in the future.

What's not to like?

There is absolutely NOTHING to dislike about Tim Tebow. Okay, its valid to dislike "on-field performances, but not the guy. I imagine those who dislike him are envious, unreasonable people. Or maybe they are uncomfortable with his "bible thumping", which is truly a weak reason to dislike a person..haha. Tebow stuck to the point and wrote a book that helps establish solid foundations, and character building for tweens and young adults. I really enjoyed that it was not overly wordy and saturated with story after story. I recommend this book to teachers and those who work with young people. Tebow has organized important life lessons and advice into an easy-to-follow format that allows for self reflection and quiet time. If one knows how to maximize, this book can really help shape the lives of the young for a greater impact.

-My Review-

"Know who you are. Live like it matters." was such an inspirational read for me! Although this book is geared towards homeschooled students and their parents it is a good read for anyone, even if you aren't being homeschooled or aren't homeschooling your child.

The book has a lesson for each week for 36 weeks. The book is broke up into four parts with 9 weeks in each section: 1) Who are you?, 2) Don't sweat it: God's got it, 3) Others matter, and 4) Live bigger. Each week's lesson is almost like a devotional in that it is short and it has questions at the end for you to answer. The questions are really thought provoking.

I like that the book can be inspirational to anyone, not just homeschooled students and their parents. I also like how the book is laid out into the four parts and with questions at the end of each week's lesson to help you think about what you've just read and to give you something to think about for the next week.

I tried to find anything I didn't like about the book but I really enjoyed the book and the layout of the book.

Tim Tebow starts sharing with readers about his homeschooling experience and why he wrote this book for them. His mom homeschooled him and his two brothers and two sisters. His mom did this at a time when many thought homeschooling was illegal. He goes on to share that they worked hard to graduate High School. He shares how him, and siblings got scholarships for college. Then he writes an encouraging note to parents and how to effectively use this study guide with their kids.

This is an interactive study to get kids thinking about their true identity. He starts out with a key verse and a story to explain the verse. One example, a verse is Proverbs 5:21 “For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He watches all his paths. He has questions to answer after the lesson. One of the questions is “How does it make you feel to know that God’s eyes are always on you?” He recommends praying before readers answer the questions at the end of the lesson. Then leaves readers with something to think about… he talks about integrity and what it is, he says, “When no one will ever know the good or right thing you do but you do it anyway.”

This book has 36 weeks of lessons. I like how the author shares examples from his own life and others when he talks about failures and about trusting God when things didn’t go as expected, how God helped him through rejection and used him in his foundation to help kids all over the world. I like how he shares these examples and those from other famous people kids would know like Thomas Edison. He encourages kids to walk in faith, think outside of what the world tells them, be creative and explains that we were made for relationship with God and others.

I really enjoyed reading this book because of the transparent way Tim Tebow shares about life, the challenges he’s faced and how God has used him through the years in unexpected ways. I highly recommend this book that can be used as a daily, weekly or monthly devotional.

A devotional/Bible study for middle grade students to high schoolers, especially directed towards homeschoolers for use in a curriculum. This book has writing exercises, as well and encourages journaling.

I like how the book encourages young people to find their true identity in Christ and to strive to live for Him, not just to please others or society. It encourages trusting God for everything, building edifying relationships, and doing big things for God. Tim shares stories from his growing up days, and the present, in 36 devotions/chapters.

While I used to be a homeschooled teen myself back in the day, I kind of thought it odd that this book was so specifically targeting homeschoolers. Not that writing a book for homeschoolers is a bad thing, but I thought that this was a fantastic book that would appeal to a larger audience then just homeschooled teens. In fact it makes a great gift for that young person in your life, wondering where their life will go and stressed about the future.

I loved the personal stories that Tim shares, talking about his inspirations, lessons, and struggles. He speaks with an innate respect for his family and his passion for others is wonderful to see.

Inspiring, engaging, and encouraging this is a fantastic faith-filled devotional for teens. This book is written to encourage reflection, thought, and ideas. Definitely recommend, especially for those in middle school or in the first few years of high school.

In today's society, we are constantly told that we need to figure out who we are. We are told to find ourselves and determine who we are. However, the world's advice on how to go about doing this is often lacking. In Tim Tebow's book, Know Who You Are, Live Like It Matters, he provides sound advice on where we are to look to find out who we are.
Tim Tebow is a well-known athlete and outspoken Christian. In the sports world, one's identity can easily be defined by how well the athlete is performing, by whether or not they are liked by the fans, or by whether or not they are on a team. That being said, one can easily be discouraged by all of the opinions of the fans, coaches, and media. Tebow discusses this and shares how remembering who he belonged to encouraged him greatly. He encourages readers to focus on remembering that they belong to Christ and then applying that to the way that they live.
This book, although geared toward teenagers, is an excellent read for anyone. Tebow, who was homeschooled, wrote the book so that it could be used as a sort of curriculum for homeschool students. This feature is an excellent addition to the book.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this book. I think it is an amazing read for students who might be struggling with being confident in who they are or who might just need a little extra encouragement to live their life accordingly.

I was given an advance copy of this book by NetGalley and Waterbrook & Multnomah, in exchange for an unbiased review.

Know Who You Are, Live Like it Matters , by Tim Tebow, is subtitled, A Homeschooler’s Interactive Guide to Discovering Your True Identity . Perhaps Mr. Tebow intended this book as such, but the value goes beyond the homeschooler to all secondary level students, and really to anyone who wants to learn more about the author’s walk with the Lord. There are 36 weeks of lessons based on scripture, with practical examples from the author’s life that correspond to each scripture. Following the “discussion,” there are questions for reflection and opportunities to record responses.

This was the first book I’ve read by the author. It is easily accessible with scriptural analysis supporting God’s word. Young people and old will appreciate the author’s kind, brotherly tone. I could easily imagine Tim speaking with someone and sharing his faith. It left me wanting to learn more about this famous athlete who is not embarrassed to show he is a believer in even the most secular of places. A title that should be purchased for homeschoolers and added to church school libraries, it is appropriate for any person wanting an insightful guide for devotional time.

It was so exciting to receive this book! It was thrilling and inspiring to read it! Tim Tebow has written a book that is easy to read and understand, with 36 weeks designed to use with homeschoolers, but can be used with ALL ages due to the timeless topics and very interesting content. The content covers:
Who Are You?
Don't Sweat it; God's Got It
Others Matter, and
Live Bigger
Everything in the book is spot on for how each each person can grow to be more like Christ, no matter the obstacles. He uses himself as examples - mostly what he could have done better, with no flashy examples of his greatness, which he has attained at times, with his notable athletic abilities. However he also uses examples how to help others, especially those unable to help themselves. He describes how he handled his "down" times. I was left with great admiration for the way his parents raised him, homeschooling on their farm, and leading by word and example. Of course Tim is disciplined, as in not eating sweets, in order to reach his goal to have a healthier body. The very best thing about this book is that Tim describes (and lives) how to live bigger and to make a difference!
I received this book from a giveaway with gratitude, and the views are my own.

This book is focused toward pre-teens and teenagers who are faced with figuring out who they are and whose they are and the life choices they have to make. I found though, that even as an adult, there were many gems of wisdom. It is divided into 4 parts with about 8 to 10 chapters in each part. The chapters are short, Each chapter is designed for one week. The chapter opens with a Bible scripture that relates to whatever topic Tebow is focusing on. At the end of the chapter, is a section called OnYour Own where there are questions for journal your own thoughts. The topics are very well connected to concerns and choices that any teenager would meet with Biblical Based suggestions and solutions.

I feel that any pre-teen or teen Christian would definitely get a great deal out of this book.

An inspiring book for anyone who wants to gain more self- worth, and find true value in Jesus. Tebow walks you through his own experiences and the lessons he has learned along the way. He then turns it back on you and prompts you to write down what you have learned from your experiences.

There is time for reflection and you can analyze what you could have done better in each situation. The best part is the next time a similar situation comes your way, you can apply what you've learnt from the book.

Tim Tebow is an inspiration for anyone of any age. His fearless proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ is both humble and courageous. Tebow will inspire many generations to come, just by being true to himself.

Overall out of the few books i've read this is one of the better ones. This book consists of Tim Tebows childhood all the way through his nfl career into now. This book talks all about christ and how this helped Tebow no matter what he did. Every chapter he gives a different bible verse then relates it to the chapter or relates it to a life lesson and he also gives you space to write your own stories which can really help keep the readers interested. In all I really enjoyed reading this book, it is well written and doesn't take long to read. I think tim has good intentions about christ he talks about it throughout the book but never forces the subject on you but instead just gives you examples of how it can help if you allow him into your life.

I really enjoyed this book. It is intended to be read slowly, by homeschooled kids. As a homeschooling parent, I needed to see if it was acceptable for my kids. I believe that it is better suited for 14-17 year olds. The book gives a lot of questions to help kids look into themselves and define their character. Tebow shares personal stories from his own past and talks about his own choices- some good, some. It so good. The book reads easily and draws you in. The only complaint I have is the use of several translations of scripture. I would have preferred consistently there. Overall, a good book.

I found this interactive devotional guide to be very easy to use with a great set up. Each chapter is a few pages long and is followed with questions at the end so that you can answer questions regarding the topic you just read. A lot of people know Tim Tebow for his amazing sports career, but many do not know that he is a Christian that founded The Tim Tebow Foundation. The foundation serves thousands of children around the world. This book would be a great gift for a teenager whether they are homeschooled or go to a public school. Overall, I found this to be a great self help devotional.

This was a very quick, devotional type read geared toward home schooled children. Each chapter had a subject such as being kind to others, following your dreams and putting your trust in God. Tim would tell a story about his childhood, or even as he was older, that related to the subject matter and then ended with a scripture verse and prayer. It was a very feel good book that I hope many people read.

From a parent’s perspective, I felt like this book was too simplified and that Tebow could have gone a little deeper; however, it’s an easy read which might be just what is needed to grab a kid’s attention and get him/her thinking about their identity in Christ.
