Hard to follow

This did not appeal to me. I found it hard to keep track of the characters and the plot was not that interesting

People change and evolve especially when faced with intense and dramatic events. Ward is one of the very few indie authors that seems to understand that. In this chapter, Javier begins to face the demons of his past but the real interesting story is with Djamila. After the traumatic events of "The Gilded Cage", she begins to question many of her prior assumptions and to grow as a person and a character. This isn't an outstanding book but it is a solid conclusion to the first act of our adventure.

Oh my. Now I need to read the 5th book in this series. Author Blaze Ward entertains yet again. This time, instead of overwhelming evil he challenges his protagonist Javier with pure pleasure--and the richest woman in the universe, who seems to have fallen for him.

Space Dragoon Djamila also is tested by pleasure, as well as an adventure that requires more savvy, sophistication, and misdirection than brute force.

Again, the author's development of Javier's character holds my attention. Javier as Navarre apparently has more to him than "mass murderer". I found that the switch of roles between Javier and Navarre to be intricate, telling and very human. Seeing Sykora learning to relax from the Ballerina of Death to Djamila was equally fascinating. For an apparently light space opera, the author has created characters that are memorable in very different ways.

Quite Good

Another good installment for the Science Officer series. This time an old school caper with a little drama involved. This episode included a couple of adult situations, minus the over description, implied is better then drawn out descriptions. Really well done. Still too short, but entertaining.

Each book is very good! This time I expected more action but what I read was a slow moving misdirection! You are kept on the edge of your seat waiting to see if they are captured or have to fight their way out! Fantastic

The other books/novellas in this series were....I guess... More "Palatable"? This one is just bizarre with lots of internal self dialog and not much action.
