You were my brother in the line of duty.
My partner.
My best friend.
You were the man who had it all.
Your thoroughness and precision made you a great cop.
It’s what got you killed.
And now I live with the darkening shadows of your memory.
You weren’t here when I needed you to save me.
You weren’t here when I needed help solving the most gruesome murder this town had ever seen.
But most of all, you weren’t here to keep me from falling in love with your wife.

If there is one thing I cannot stand. I repeat cannot stand then it is a to be continued without letting readers know. Kills me every time and makes me really frustrated to decide how to review a book. Moving on.

December 26th One year later…

Both Wyatt and Grace are slowly coming to terms with the death of his best friend and Grace’s husband. Since that fateful night feelings have developed. Wyatt has always carried a torch for Grace but now he can’t stop it. He tried to only be friends but it is also hard when that person starts to reciprocate the feelings. It is a slow journey for both of them.

The dead spouse trope isn’t my favorite and although this was done well I thought that there wasn’t enough time spent on the couple rather on the murder mystery that was going on.

The police station where Wyatt works is a bit like high school it is hard to keep track of who has the hots for who and what the deal is with all of them. Add in a new partner for Wyatt and everything gets busy and hectic.

The book could have been longer in my opinion. All this madness happens over a time span of a week. Obviously, I will read the next book there are good elements in the book and I enjoy the author’s writing style a lot. Bonus was that it is told solely from the Hero’s POV.

Favorite Quotes:

If Grayson appreciated the picture, she must have been a knockout. He was picky as hell with women. If they weren’t a debutante, he wasn’t giving them a second glance; however, most debutantes didn’t really hang around police stations. Grayson Cooks was still very single.

She told me last night that if I didn’t marry you, I was too ignorant to be her mother.

My Review:

Recluse was packed with an odd assortment of quirky and interesting characters as well as an intriguing storyline wrapped around a tractionless murder investigation with no leads and inexperienced detectives. I was coasting along merrily, fully engaged in the story (although it took me a few beats to realize the setting was the same town as her previous Love Bug books), when that slippery and crafty trickster known as Jaycee Ford tossed me a heinous and despicable cliffhanger. I am still stamping my little foot and foaming at the mouth in a complete pique. I am fully invested and on the hook with this one, I cannot let it go and must know how this mystery resolves. I was easily drawn to the endearing characters and ever so curious about the crime. Sigh… hurry Ms. Ford. Please! Hurry! Despite her vile cliffhanger, I remain a Faithful Ford Fangirl - for life.

Wyatt and Grace are both mourning the death of a best friend and a husband. Coming back home without his best friend and fighting feelings for that best friends wife -- add that into the mix with some town murders and you have a story. It sounds wonky I know but it is a good story line.

I wasn't aware when I started reading this was a cliffhanger book so that bummed me out but it was good enough to keep me wanting to read the rest of the story. There were some iffy parts in the story for me as far as the relationship points between these two but again the mystery and the growth of the two main characters kept me turning the pages.

I am anxious to see what happens so I will click up the next. Thank you for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

The blurb for Recluse definitely caught my eye, and the prologue and first few chapters pulled me in. But then after that, I just felt let down by the story, as much as I liked Wyatt and Grace as characters. The story is told from Wyatt's POV, and set a year after the death of her husband, who was his best friend and partner on the police force. Both characters are mourning his death and as they begin to lean on one another for support, their relationship grows increasingly more complicated.

Unfortunately, this story ends in a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers. And what I hate more than cliffhangers is not knowing that a book ends on a cliffhanger before I start reading it. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have read Recluse had I known that going in because I hate being unsatisfied with how a story ends.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

5 STARS!

I've been a huge fan of Jaycee Ford's writing since she released her first book, Watching Fireflies. I've read everything she's written, and I am thrilled that she is heading back to the small North Carolina mountain community of Olde Town - and its sexy cowboys - with this new romantic suspense series.

If you haven't read The Huntsman, the prequel to The Spider Series, I strongly recommend that you do so before starting Recluse. (There's no excuse - it's a quick reading, exciting novella, it lays some important and interesting backstory, and it's free on Amazon!)

One of the things I love most about Jaycee Ford's writing is how she bucks tradition. She writes what her heart tells her to write and where her characters take her. Recluse isn't a traditional romantic suspense story in the purest sense of the genre, but make no mistake, it is very romantic and it is decisively suspenseful. The romance between Wyatt and Grace was a sweet and gentle slow burn - something they both needed - yet much like the fireworks erupting around them on the night they finally got together, when they got there, they were explosive. The mystery portion of the plot was interesting, layered, exciting and had a definite whodunit feel to it, and this portion of the plot will carry, at least, into the next book of the series.

Recluse is another fantastic story by the exceptionally talented Jaycee Ford, and it kept me on the edge of my seat, anxiously tapping my Kindle, well into the night. I'm very much looking forward to the next installment!

RECLUSE is the first book I’ve read from Jaycee Ford, and despite what I’m about to say below, I didn’t hate it. Honestly, I didn’t.

The first thing I need to point out is that RECLUSE ends in a cliffhanger, which was frustrating because the blurb makes no mention that it will end that way or that the murder will remain unsolved and continue on. Without any information at this time, I can only assume that the murder mystery will continue to be the focal point throughout this series until the final book, and at this stage I have no idea how many books that will be.

I don’t have much to say about Wyatt or Grace, because the story as a whole is fairly short and only half of it focuses on them and their changing relationship, so you don’t learn a lot about them. What you do learn is that Wyatt has spent the past several years filled with guilt lusting over his best friend’s wife, but a year on from his death, he comes to the realisation that his feelings for Grace aren’t going to go away, so he stops hiding them from her. Grace was a little skittish, but overall, she handled moving on to a new relationship very well.

The other half of the story focuses on the murder investigation, while at the same time introducing us to all the secondary characters. I had a lot of trouble keeping track of who everyone was, because sometimes a character would be called by their first name, but then they’d be called by their last name, which meant there were too many names to remember. I also struggled with the love-triangle situation everyone seemed to be in. Boy A wants Girl A, but is sleeping with Girl B, who really wants Boy B, while Boy C wants to sleep with Girl B, but really wants Girl C, and so-on and so-forth. It was all very confusing.

RECLUSE held my attention and was a fairly quick read, told only in Wyatt’s POV. With the exception of the prologue, the story takes place over a six day period. Judging by the ongoing murder mystery, the books in this series will need to be read in order. At this stage, I’m assuming each book will be about a different couple, but I’m honestly not sure given how this book ended for Wyatt and Grace. There was no epilogue and I felt their relationship was not completely settled. That being said, one could consider what happened between them at the end as a form of closure to their story, but I guess we’ll have to wait for the next book’s blurb to come out to know for sure. Will I continue with this series? I think so, but if I do, I’ll be waiting until the entire series has been released.

Romantic suspense at it's best! Ford's new spinoff from her Love Bug series has Caleb's detectives chasing a murder suspect. Caleb is the new Sheriff, recently losing a detective on a call, when a waitress turns up murdered. Wyatt's partner was that man and he's in love with the guy's wife, but refuses to step over boundaries until she's ready. He's admirable and respected by his peers, who are all aware of his desire. While Caleb's crew is good at their jobs a murder is very unusual for their small one stop light town and are a bit out of their element. The friendship among the team is tight, their cluelessness to the women in town is hysterical and typical. This is the start to a great suspenseful series with a bit of romance for our hearts. But don't be fooled there will be other books, I would say the romantic aspect is complete for each one but the crime fighting will evolve and continue through the other books. Looking forward to the next couple and solving some murders. I have voluntarily written this review after receiving an early copy from the author.

That's it I'm addicted. I need the next book like a addict needs their next fix. Good Lord was this a fantastic book.

Wyatt and Grace intrigued me, and the mystery of the murders kept me flipping through the book quickly. While it started out a bit slow, it quickly grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. I literally bawled during Wyatt's confession to Mike. It broke my heart but it was quickly repaired done after.

While this book does end on a big fat cliff hangover, it does give you some warm fuzzies knowing that a HEA is in the making.

I will defiantly be anxiously awaiting for the next book in this amazing series. Jaycee Ford has placed her books firmly on my must read pile.

This was a good book but although I must say I was a bit troubled that it ended in a cliffy. I prefer to be forewarned when an author decides to end a story in such a way. I will say that Ms Ford chose an appropriate place to end this book and we weren't left hanging too badly, at least not with the relationship that was building throughout this book.

Wyatt and Mike were both police officers, partners, and best friends. Grace was the wife and love of Mike's life. They had a daughter together, Chloe who is now eleven. Mike was killed in the line of duty and Wyatt and Grace got together for dinner every Thursday night since his death. She was lonely and Wyatt had the feels for her. Those feelings seemed to be building on both sides but Wyatt was scared, frightened to lose her friendship, afraid he could never live up to what she had with Mike. He was also crazy-nuts about her brilliant daughter, Chloe. She had more sense than all of them put together.

Wyatt had a lot of flings and an ongoing two-year sex-only affair with a woman named Megan. When he finally owns up to having deeper feelings for Grace he continues his affair with Megan if I understand correctly. (Maybe I misunderstood but I don't think so.) I was hoping that once he realized his feelings the man-whorish ways would stop. It was not flaunted in front of us in the course of the book but it had been mentioned in Wyatt's thoughts that he still met up with Megan and needed to break it off with her. At one point he even considered trying to make a permanent relationship with Megan and trying to let go of his love for Grace, saying he could be 'ok' with 'settling!' He went back and forth on the issue of ending the relationship...or not...several times. I think that made me distrust what he really felt for Grace and highlighted his immature nature, giving me pause as to whether he really knew what he wanted. The break with Megan happened on the first night that Grace accepted his invitation to meet him at the bar where their whole gang always met up and it was also where Megan worked as a bartender. This was not their typical weekly get together. It was more of a spontaneous date type of thing. He mentions then that he looks at Megan (she is behind the bar doing her bartender thing) and her at him and they know their relationship is now over. No words were ever spoken about that we were privy to.

I have to include that there was something I didn't completely trust in our hero, Wyatt, or the group of cops that seemed much younger than they were. I wanted Wyatt to have eyes for no one but Grace but at least on one occasion he sure enjoyed looking and it was blatant enough his partner noticed. I think he even had a thought similar to 'if I wasn't in love with Grace... He also commented 'just because I'm in love doesn't mean I can't look'...but it felt more than that. In his thoughts, you could see that if not for Grace he would have gone after this one particular gal. In fact, the immaturity of most all the officers was something that I struggled with. It was like I was reading about horny high school boys going to class every day instead of work. It would have been close to perfect if not for his affairs and hookups. I had to deduct a star for that.

I did find the murder mystery intriguing and I'm anxiously awaiting the next book. I recommend this book as well as the series.

I loved this book so damn much! You know how there's some books you never want to end? This is the definition of that. I could read about Wyatt and Grace’s love story forever, it's truly that beautiful.

‘With every ounce of my being I knew all hope was gone. I was in love with my dead partner’s wife.’

On the surface, this book is a romantic suspense, or romance combined with a small town murder mystery. But this book is truly so much more complex than that. It's about grief, loss and learning to move on; about how love is eternal and that life doesn't stop for anyone.

‘I'll be here in any and every capacity no matter what, but I need you to know that I love you.’

I found the police aspect to this book to be brilliant! Wyatt’s colleagues have all been developed wonderfully, it's just the right amount of complex backgrounds and mystery to be developed in later books. I'm particularly looking forward to discovering more about Lana, I really hope she ends up getting her own book because I love her personality and outlook. The murder mystery aspect is brilliantly done, the murder scene itself can be lightly profiled and it definitely suggests that Ford has carefully considered this when describing it, making it seem realistic (or else she's a major Criminal Minds fan, takes one to know one).

Grace is so strong and brave, there aren't words for what an inspirational heroine she is. She's a wonderful mum, supportive friend and just a generally incredible character. The way she adjusts to everything thrown at her, the way she handles losing her husband and then falling for Wyatt…

‘This was the first and possibly only kiss I would receive, and I would be damned if I let myself forget…’

Wyatt, how do I start? Physically you just know he's sexy as hell, but he's so much more than that. In the prologue we get this insinuation that he's pining after Grace but it's a ‘loving from afar’ kind of thing, he feels like the only guy good enough for Grace is his partner, the man that becomes her husband and the father of her only child. Unfortunately, he's also the husband that makes her a widow. Wyatt’s survivor’s guilt is absolutely heartbreaking, I just wanted to hug his pain away. Luckily, it's the two most important people left in his life that are determined to show him that he's not responsible for Mike’s death, and it's truly beautiful how they do this. He's such a kind, loyal, protective, genuine person that you just can't help but love him and want him to find his happy ending with Grace.

This is a slow burn romance (seriously all their almost scenes will have you needing a cold shower) but it's also about forgiveness, accepting yourself and learning to love again. And after THAT ending, I really need book two already!!!

I received an ARC of Recluse by Jaycee Ford in exchange for an honest review.

Wyatt has always been in love with Grace, his best friend's wife. She was the only woman he was ever interested in. He couldn't see anyone else, but her. He's struggling with his feelings for her, not wanting to ruin their friendship. They share a bond, a bond that was cemented by the one person they both loved and cared about, Mike. He was the thread that kept them together.

Wyatt and Grace are both still mourning the death of Mike. He was a constant in their lives. Mike was Wyatt's best friend and Grace's loving husband. However, both Grace and Wyatt can't seem to fight their feelings for one another. Their attraction grows as well as their friendship and what happens next only comes naturally to the both of them. It seems as though fate wants these two together.

I have to say I loved the fact that this story had a mystery element to it. It wasn't something I was expecting, but it was a nice surprise. It was written so well and I was able to appreciate how much time and thought went into creating those elements which was the highlight of the story in my opinion.

Jaycee Ford does a wonderful job balancing the mystery, the romance happening between Grace and Wyatt, and the backstory of the other characters in the story which made me like this book even more. Learning the backstory of the other characters has me highly anticipating their stories next if Jaycee Ford intends to go that route. I absolutely loved how the police station where Wyatt worked was a close-knit group of men who shared a bond and it was like a brotherhood.

However, be prepared because this book leaves you on a mouth dropping cliffhanger so don't expect to find out all the answers at once. I have to say that I am still in shock at what took place and I can't wait to read the next book. I need resolution. I gave this one a four star rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐!

Hook, line & sinker in new romance suspense series, Recluse by Jaycee Ford. A fast paced, intriguing and attention grabber to the max. *Note: It’s wise to read The Huntsman before diving into Recluse as this will gain you information and set you up for Wyatt & Grace’s story.

A year has passed after Wyatt’s best friend and fellow comrade has passed within the field of duty. He has tried his best to stay on the friends route with Grace, his best friends wife, however throughout the grieving process for both of them emotions and feelings escalate and both find themselves teetering on the edge of appropriateness. Is it acceptable for them to move on, especially Grace?

Wyatt is ever more determined to chase and find the murder suspect who had lost his best friend. Will he be able to find out whodunit?

A slow burn introduction between Wyatt and Grace that leads to an explosive chemistry. Ms. Ford develops the element of suspense over the course of time which will eventually end up in future books. Refreshing suspense storyline that is not typical. About 65% in you figure out that all your answers “might” not be answered, however, I think that makes it worth the mystery of what the next book will entail.

I loved the prequel to this series, Huntsman, and rooted for the couple to mend their relationship torn apart by PTSD. Mike and Grace finally got to their HEA. After the prologue of Recluse, I was devastated but Ms. Ford did her best to mend my heart. The story is set seven years after Huntsman and after the prologue focuses on the healing of Grace and Wyatt, Mike's best friend and partner. The couple tiptoe around their attraction and need for each other, which causes each of them to overthink the situation. A brutal murder necessitates filling the empty detective's desk. A seasoned detective, Lara, fills the chair to aid an undertrained department when it comes to such a heinous crime.
Relationships become redefined, new ones are formed, and some are cut short abruptly. While none of the secondary characters from the prequel reoccur in Recluse, the coworkers of Wyatt are a unique and great characters, who I assume will all have a story set against the backdrop of this murder investigation. There is a cliffy at the end, but as far as the couple is concerned they are on the road to a relationship. The story is far from over, on many levels, and I can't wait to see what is to come in this series.

This book confused the hell out of me..Wyatt is mourning the death of his partner Mike. Both of them being cops in a small (and I mean small town). Grace is Mikes widow who Wyatt has been secretly in love with for years.

Now that Mike has been gone a year they are letting their attraction to each other become apparent. This means the the rest of the police force which is a bunch of guys who to tell you the truth I can't keep track of and it was very confusing. This one likes this one, that one likes that one but cant be with that one....it was like watching my high school years on video.

In the midst of Grace and Wyatt's high school crush's being revealed and more innuendos about others crushes and love lives....there is a murder...scratches head.

It was confusing and nothing and I mean nothing exciting happens. The relationship goes at snail speed and the investigation into the murder even slower. Thank god this book was short because I don't think I could have taken it being longer.

I was pulled right into this short novella. This story contains heartbreak, pain, secrets, grief, and love.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Huntsman: A Prequel to the Spider Series

This is Grace and Wyatt’s story. After losing her husband Mike Grace is struggling. His best friend Wyatt is also struggling. They have been spending a lot of time together in their grieving process. But they are falling for each other. But would it be wise to get involved? With danger still out there is it wise? Can they move on together or should the learn to get on without each other? What is appropriate? Can they really be together? Would Mike have wanted them to move on? With them focusing so much on the murder will they even move on?

I recommend this story.

I gave this book 4 stars!!

This is the first book I have read from Jaycee Ford and I will be reading the next book because THIS BOOK ENDS IN A CLIFF HANGER!!!!

We get the story of Wyatt and Grace. The story takes place a year after the death of her husband, who was his best friend and partner. There has been a mutual attraction that these two have had and with the twist, turns of small town, we get to see these two finally get to act on their feelings. When a murder happens, everyone in this sleepy town is on edge, can they find the killer before its to late?

I found that some of the characters I could relate to better than others and some I'm still holding out judgments on. The emotions are real, raw and powerful. I cant wait to see what we get in the next book.

YESSSS!!!!!
This book grabbed me from the start and had me hanging on to every line, every page. I got to 74% without even realizing. I just wanted to know what was coming next and I couldn’t put it down.

While reading I got the sense that a cliffhanger was coming and even though I begged her (Jaycee) to tell me if there was going to be one and prayed I wouldn’t be left hanging….DUN! DUN! DUN! It came and I was left wanting more. The cliffhanger was perfect! At the right spot, just when things were going good. It leaves you begging for book 2. Dam you Jaycee!!

Love this book and would read it again… I’m ready for book 2.

There are a few story lines that have to be handled just so in order for me to read them and enjoy them, the dead spouse/close friend falling for the widow is one of them and Jaycee Ford wrote it beautifully.
I've been a huge fan since reading the Love Bug series so I was thrilled to get my hands on Recluse.
It's well written, grabbed me from the beginning and I could not put it down. I read this book in one day shushing everyone around me.
The characters were realistic and I loved the suspense. I would have liked to see just a bit more focus on Wyatt and Grace and a bit less on the murder case, I feel it would have balanced out a bit better but I still loved the book.
I'm looking forward to whats to come in this series.

I have not read many books like this one and I loved it.

Wyatt lost his partner in the police force Mike , he has been spending time with Grace Mike's widow and his feelings have been growing .

A murder has happened in their small town and Wyatt is trying to solve it with a new partner and trying to navigate his feelings for Grace and his guilt for how he feels.

None of their leads are going anywhere and just when Wyatt gets his and Graces relationship going where he wants it to another murder happens.

I can not wait for book 2!!!!

Jaycee, again, had me reading one of her books in one sitting. At the turn of each page, you're drawn into Wyatt's world. Each word was captivating and equally powerful, and it was impossible to put the book down. At each page, you were seeking answers. At each page, you also found yourself cheering for Grace and Wyatt. Great job, Jaycee, for another beautifully written novel with a purely addictive plot. I can't wait to read the next installment in the series!

Recluse is another amazing book by Jaycee Ford! Recluse has both romance and murder mystery. Wyatt finds himself in love with his deceased best friend and partners wife Grace. He is afraid to because he doesn't want to disappoint his friend.
Recluse also has a murder mystery . The town of Olde Towne has a murder and Wyatt and his Co workers have to solve it.
There's also a big cliff hanger at the end.
I know everyone will enjoy this book!

The suspense in this book is crazy good and I had to read free internet smut before I could clear my brain and move on. Do you know how bad free internet smut can be?

A gripping and beautiful romantic suspense that'll leave you yearning for more...

Recluse was my first venture into Jaycee Ford's writing. I haven't read any of her other books, however, I have heard some pretty amazing things about them. When I was offered the chance to review this book, I quite simply could not resist. I had been wanting to read Ford, so it just seemed like a win-win— new series and new author... what's not to love? The blurb for this book got me from the moment I laid my eyes on it. In all fairness, it most certainly did not disappoint. I thought the plot was beautifully mapped out and executed, although it could have done with a little more pacing and beefing up. In all honesty, that's my biggest complaint. It could've done with being longer, apart from that I actually think that the story was very well written.

The main protagonists, Wyatt and Grace, are very empathise-able and endearing. I found Wyatt sweet and tender yet every bit the alpha that I love. He proves that not all alpha heroes need to be A-holes. This was so refreshing because more often than not you have a real twat for a hero that progresses into a somewhat perfect male specimen. Wyatt does not follow the same character path, and I could not have loved him more. Likewise, considering the cards that life has dealt her, Grace is a rather strong and sturdy character. She has wit and sass, but what I loved most about her was her willingness to grab life by the balls and not just enjoy it— but really appreciate it. I thought that the whole dead spouse scenario was done tastefully and brilliantly and although the idea was a little uncomfortable for me at first, I have to admit that it's what made me love both Grace and Wyatt so much more.

There were a few times where the story got a little adolescent-y especially with the love vibes at the station, but if anything it just wet my tongue for more of the series. Lets face it we're all kids when in love. We all have to find our way and mature the feelings... I think that really is the vibe of the series. But, who knows where it will go? Romance wise, this book was sweet. I wouldn't say it's the most out there when it comes to the sex, but that really fit with Wyatt and Grace's story. What did really grip me and has completely left me gasping for more is the murder mystery element. I didn't realise that this part of the story would consist of a cliffhanger, however, I also do not want all the inhabitants of the town to get offed. So, although I was a bit bummed that I'd have to wait to figure more of the mystery out, I am also pretty excited that there's more to this part of the story.

All in all, I really enjoyed Recluse. I hope we have more from the Spider series soon... and as far as this being my first Jaycee Ford experience— I can guarantee it will not be my last!

Recluse is the first book that I have ever read from Jaycee Ford, and it is also the first book in her Spider series. While I knew this was part of a series, I had no idea that this one ended with a cliffhanger. It took me by surprise and honestly this book went in a completely different direction that I expected. I'm sure I'll read the next one to see what happens, but I'm a bit skeptical after feeling blindsided here since the blurb gave no hint that this book wasn't a standalone story.

After losing her husband Mike, Grace finds herself struggling just like his best friend Wyatt is as well. The more time they spend together, the closer they become. But can the let go of the past and see where things go? And what happens when they find themselves in danger?

A huge part of my having mixed feelings here is due to the characters. I felt like there was too much going on at times and not enough focus on Wyatt and Grace. There were so many details and so much time spent on Wyatt's past sex life that I just never really felt fully invested in these two. I don't feel like we really got to know them as I would have liked and that made it hard to connect to them and their story.

I also was pretty confused at times with all that was going on and the secondary characters. There were times that things just didn't make sense or were hard to follow. I think that this story has promise and I was interested to see how things would play out, but I am just hoping that things won't be drawn out for too long. At this point I don't know how many books are planned or when we will get resolution, but I will read the next book. I'm really hoping that there will be more focus on Wyatt and Grace in the next book as well as just the murder.

Never having read any of Jaycee Ford’s book before, I didn’t know what I was getting into. It’s a new series of books as it turned out, and more suspenseful than I normally read, but that seems to be my go to this month as I’ve read or 4 others in this vein.
The story of Wyatt and Grace’s relationship is a bit slow to get started, it burns quietly as they try to avoid or deny their mutual attraction for each other. They suspense comes in the form of an unexplained murder.
Wyatt is quiet and patient and even though he’s had feeling for Grace for a long time, he doesn’t want to tell her as he respected his partner so much. But, fate finds a way as always.
The other detective are a motley crew made of single guys and the sheriff, the only man who is married.
When Caleb hires a new, female detective it shifts the dynamics somewhat and Wyatt notices. But, he can’t put his finger on what the change is and tries to ignore it while dealing with the worst crime to hit their one-stop small town.
Everything gears up to NYE and finally comes to a head, and a cliffhanger!!! Hopefully there won’t be too long of a wait for the next part.

Holy Moly!!!! Talk about a nail biting who done it. Page after page I wanted a clue, just a hint. Page after page there were hints, there was drama, but I got no closer, I mean the detectives got no closer to solving the violent murder.

As Wyatt worked with the others within the department trying to solve the crime, he dances around his feelings for Grace. How could he fall for his partner's widow? Would he ever have true love with Grace? Would Grace let him in? Would she let him protect her and Chloe? Would the others within the department be accepting of a relationship if he can talk Grace into giving him a chance?

So much going on. So much tearing at my gut. Things aren't what they seem to be. Secrets need to be exposed. And the ending SUCKED (but in a good way)!!!!!!!! Why????? Because it wasn't an actual ending. Cliffhanger isn't a doesn't give the ending justice. I have tumbled into the abyss. I am left not knowing. My questions still remain, in fact I have more. I can only hope the wait is short. In the mean time I bask in excitement the author's writing stirred within me. Butterflies are a flutter. Twinges of fear are spreading. Jaycee hurry up and push publish!! I am dyeing for more.
