I found this book at The Iliad, for just two dollars. It requires a magnifying glass if you're determined to move beyond the headlines and eat up the fine print like me.
I enjoyed reviewing 75 years of history in this manner, how it was presented on the day it happened. Some headlines were chillingly juxtaposed with smaller stories that foreshadowed events or ironies to come. On occasion, the writing was surprisingly inspired. The March on Washington, the start of Space Travel, and JFK for example.
This book was a fine companion for my two weeks in Mexico, but once used, much too heavy to justify its transport back home. It will make an excellent coffee table book and conversation fodder for the folks and their visitors.
