First off, I am going to be blunt and honest with you--- I HATED AVA in Changing Lanes. Everything she did in Book 1, just drove her farther and farther down the rabbit hole I had created just for her. That’s how much I hated her. But leave it to the fabulous Leaona to put a twist on Ava’s story causing you to fall in love with her in book 2. Leaona, captured Ava in a way through book 2 that will have you enamored to the full capacity with Ava’s and Riley’s story. I just thought Brannon and Torrie’s was powerful in “Changing Lanes…” HA who was I kidding.
Riley has been in love with Ava since he was a little guy but he knew there was something about her back then only to be shown through his whole life he was right but getting her to see him like he saw her??? Yeah, now that as more challenging –so he does the obvious—he lives—trying to get her out of his heart and mind but even thousands of miles away he simply couldn’t let her go…..but now he has returned all to see that nothing has changing with the girl he left behind—she is still trouble but his heart aches for her.
Ava’s life is simply h*ll in a nutshell. No matter what she does she simply can’t get her life in order until Riley walks back into her life again with a purpose—to show her what she simply has been ignoring all along. Ava’s never known what love is. She thought she loved Brannon but the love she had for him was nothing compared to what she aches for. From a small child she has simply been let down by everyone and everyone just pushes her farther away even from herself to where she doesn’t care------Until Riley.
Riley comes back with a plan and he doesn’t let it go. Riley and Ava see that what they have is different but when secrets are revealed can these two not shatter before they can truly live??? U-Turn was a great 5 star read. This is the second book in the Highway 17 series.
I am emotionally exhausted after reading this book.
This is Ava and Riley’s story.
Riley has known Ava since childhood and he has always cared for her. While in the service he couldn’t stop thinking about her.
Ava is still the troubled girl that Riley knew growing up. When Riley returns he is determined to make things work with her and show her what love is. Because of her past Ava has a hard time letting anyone really close to her. She is trying to turn herself around and make things better and prove to everyone that she can be a good person.
Ava has some deep emotional scars that she struggles with to a point of having PTSD. My heart really went out to her. Riley was such a strong character and was so good for her. These two really connected and had good chemistry, even though she almost loses him at one point.
We have a great story with lots of secrets revealed that added a great element to the story. I did have a love/hate relationship with Ava, until I learned her history. The secondary characters were great, Walker was my favorite. This was a great storyline that I haven’t read before and I really enjoyed it. We do get to see a very hard earned HEA and I wouldn’t mind seeing more from these two. This is my first read from Leaona Luxx and I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Ava and Riley's story is as a beautiful as it is heartbreaking. If you are looking for a book that will shred your emotions and options the this is one for you.
Riley has always tried to look out for and protect Ava but as the saying says 'you are your own worst enemy' and this describes her prefectly. This story takes you on a journey through Ava's life and it's not pretty. Everyone has an opinion on Ava and because of her actions in the past most don't have a old word to say about her. When you learn about some of the things she's done you will probably loathe her but then you get a glimpse into her past and the reason for her self loathing becomes clear.
Riley comes home from deployment to an Ava that is trying to make up for her mistakes she's slowly turning her life around, however not everyone sees the good in her. What you realise is that Riley has always loved her and he's willing to fight everyone to show her how she feels. The biggest problem he will have is Ava herself because in her mind she's not good enough for him and feels unworthy of love.

Leaona Luxx nailed it with Ava and Riley! We first met Ava in Changing Lanes. I'll be totally honest with you, I couldn't stand her. Fast forward to U-Turn, I absolutely love her! She has had so much devastation and loss in her life yet she didn't give up. She's done some things she not proud of, but who hasn't? Deep in her heart she is an amazing woman, so deserving of a loving happy life.
Riley, wow! Everyone should have a Riley in their life. He's so loving and caring. He's also very independent and a little insecure. He knows what he wants, and he'll do whatever is necessary to attain his goal.
Mistakes are made, feelings are hurt. I guarantee this story will touch your heart. I know it touched mine! Their story made me laugh and hurt right along with them. I fell in love with both Riley and yes, Ava.
Leaona threw all the feels at us with this story. I think this book surpasses the others. I wish we have a star rating higher than 5, because this one definitely deserves it! I would definitely recommend this as a must read for 2017

What happens when the one person you love doesnt believe in themselves or there self worth ...Will Ava's past get in the way of what could be a fantastic future, can she overcome the obstacles that are thrown in her way. This is an absolutely fantastic book and I highly recommend it to everyone. If i could Give it more than 5 stars I would as I couldn't put it down. It had everything a great book should....brilliant storyline, characters and plot and also last but not least a great ending.I hope there's goin to be another book so we can find out what Happens next thanks leaona for giving us another excellent book 😃😃😃

This is the very first book that I have read from Leaona Luxx and I plan on reading another one.
She knows how to pull a reader into her books just nice and quickly.
Ava is just a perfect female in this story and why would I say that for, she stands on her feet just nicely and she really speaks her mind. Ava comes off as a bad type of character but honestly we all can't have a good character sometimes they end up needing a character that comes off a little bad in a sense.
There are many characters in this book but I still really like Ava she is a bad ass in a sense.

I couldn't imagine loving someone all of your life. That's how Riley felt about Ava. He's loved her since he was 6yrs old. He's always known that she was better than her past, that she may have made mistakes but she's always been worth loving. Convincing her is going to be an uphill battle. She's has many deep wounds, some people don't even know about. He almost gives up a couple times, but in the end he feels she's worth it.

Ava and Riley's story I loved it!!! Ava went through A lot when she was little and she has ptsd and certain things sets her off. This book had love drama and chaos. This book was definally emotinal too. They both hold secrets but will it be good enough to let love in. Leona did an outstanding job on this book.

This is the first book of Leaona Luxx's that I've read, and I really enjoyed it! It hurt to read about Ava's childhood and how it derailed her in life. Riley was great - strong, male and he truly cared about Ava. He was just what she needed in her life. Great sexy story with bite. I loved it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Another fantastic book...
Love is a powerful thing. When we have it we never want to let go but sometimes we try to when with think it's not for us. Getting and keeping love is hard at times. This book was about finding oneself and love.
Ava has hard a life no doubt about that but some would say she chose things that way at times.
Riley has loved Ava his whole life but can he make her fall in love with him and stay there.
Find out in this fantastic book by Mrs. Luxx. I loved this story. It has kept me enthralled for the entire time. It is emotional, funny, sad, and wonderful.

This book could be tough to read in places, but it is so good. Reading the first book of this series (Southern Comfort, which you really should read for the backstory), you are supposed to hate Ava. You see her start to change and start to figure it out there. In this story, you get to see how and why she is so broken in the ways she is, but she is truly fighting her way out of it, going against the current of everyone putting her down or attacking her. And she has people fighting for and with her for the first time. It is beautiful.

This is Ava’s story and finding love and changing her life was amazing to read. This girl fought it but I knew she would and love would hit her hard. I had to admire Riley for not only standing by her all these years but never giving up on her. While I didn’t care for Ava’s character in Southern Comfort and even the first part of this book, I knew the real person was just below the surface and wanting to come out and find love.
With drama and romance, finding your one true love, Leaona has given me everything I like in a book.

I am so glad I read Riley and Ava's story. Book 4 in the Redemption Hwy 4 by Leaona Luxx was an awesome book that was well written and impossible to put down. I totally did not like Ava at all in the previous book but she managed to redeem herself in Love, Riley. Riley has loved Ava since they were kids but he has never made a move. Now he is back from the military and he is determined to protect Ava. She has been through so much in her life but Riley promised he would always be there for her. Can he convince her they belong together?

Wow! This was a rollercoster of emotions!

Ava and Riley's story took me on an emotional roller coaster ride but it also had me cheering for them to get their happily ever after. I loved the connection they have had since they were children and how great Riley was for Ava. This is a heartbreakingly beautiful love story with believable characters and a perfect ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

What the hell was he thinking getting involved with her, all she ever will be is Trouble, her reputation is everything everyone remembers about her, but hurricane Ava crashes to the shore and starts wreaking havoc, she is such a beautiful disaster, that doesn’t stop him from loving her. He can never understand why he is so in love with her, but he knows she loves him too. She just doesn’t know it yet.
U-Turn is book 2 in the Highway 17 series. I didn’t read book 1, but these can be read as a stand-alone, so I caught up the story instantly. By reading this, Leaona has captured me beyond belief and I cannot wait to see what else she brings to this series, and other of her works.
I was incredibly moved by this book, there was just something that really hit a nerve while reading this book, the emotions and the characters back story are so strong and sitting here now writing this review I’m sure to have a book hangover from this one! I can tell by the backstory given in this book that if I had read book 1 I would have truly disliked Ava’s character and the choices she made but after reading this I’m sure people would have a much better understanding of her and the reasons she is like she is.
This book captured me from the first page. I sat a read this book not wanting to put it down afraid of something I may miss. The emotions and feelings that are brought through the pages and words of this book is what I think make this book amazing! I have smiled, I laughed, I have been frustrated and mad but most of all I have had tears streaming down my face due to the flashback and memories that this incredible author gives us! The sexy scenes have been hot and passionate and just show how connected these two really are. Especially since this is all new to both of them, but these two really bring out the best and worst in each other, but are so good for each other once they get past their own individual issues.
This is truly and epic story of romance, second chances, redemption, trust and overcoming personal issue’s that cause them to hold back. This book has us feeling the pain, sorrow, heartbreak, anger, unconditionally love that these two characters feel. Although this book felt real as though I was there when things were happening, the flashbacks and memories scenes that Ava saw were just so raw and heart-breaking, I couldn’t help but feel as though they were happening to me. This author’s writing really grips you enough to actually believe you are living this out yourself, which I why I think this book hit me harder than I expected!
With all that being said, all of these emotions however strong and heart- breaking they are is what makes this storyline what it is, and also how the characters are. From the moment, you read this book you are drawn to the connection between Ava & Riley. These two are nothing you expected, they each bring out the best and worse in each other, but they also know how to challenge in other in the best way. It takes a lot for Ava to feel the feelings that she didn’t know that she would ever feel let alone deserve, and Riley will do absolutely everything to prove she is worth the years he has waited for her and prove that she deserves the best and love.
There is a lot of back and forth with these characters so much so you start to get frustrated and wish they would just give in, but when these two characters get together, they are passionate and defiantly show the love that is between them. But it also doesn’t take much to break them either, especially after secrets are revealed.
In this book, not only are the main characters great to read about, but the secondary characters stand out to. I’d love to read Walker’s story after the bits and pieces you read about him in this book I’d love to know more.

Riley will do anything to prove his love that he has had for Ava since he was six. Nothing will stop him from making her his. But Ava’s state of mind about herself makes it harder for him. But he will always be there to remind her that she truly deserves love, happiness and can be the best version of herself. He is handsome, kind, loving and protective and gives himself to Ava even with all her past.
I loved reading this book and was hooked from page one. I’m so glad our characters finally get a HEA, I hope this isn’t the last we see of these two characters and their story. Now I’m eagerly awaiting to see what happens in Book 3 Collision.

He is handsome, kind, loving and protective and gives himself to Ava even with all her past.
I loved reading this book and was hooked from page one. I’m so glad our characters finally get a HEA, I hope this isn’t the last we see of these two characters and their story. Now I’m eagerly awaiting to see what happens in Book 3 Collision.

U-Turn (Highway 17 Book 2) by Leaona Luxx is the second book in the Highway 17 series. I have not read the first book but I was able to understand what was happening with the main character. I would recommend reading the first book first so that you have the background information on the character. This story is a continuation of Ava's story, this time she wants to turn her life around. This is also my first story by this author but I fully enjoyed how she was able to pull me in from the first word. You will also her ability to write details and how she created characters that are true to life and will pull at your heart strings. This story is full of compassion and romance. This is a story about a woman who has PTSD and really just wants to turn her life around for the better. Find out what happens as she starts her journey of turning things around and healing.

It will have your emotions on a roller coaster. You want for this couple to have their HEA, however, they there are situations that come up where this couple doesn’t communicate and this leads to misunderstandings, anger, and hurt feelings. Will they be able to take a long, hard look inside themselves and discover how they truly feel about each other? Will this bring them together or tear them apart?

What will her reaction be when Riley declares his feelings for her?

U-Turn is book 2 in the Highway 17 series by Leaona Luxx. I absolutely loved the first book, Changing Lanes, and experienced an extreme number of highs and lows. Leaona Luxx is an incredibly talented author who gives a reader everything in her books.
I detested Ava in Changing Lanes, and thought she was a desperate and bitter woman playing on her childhood to keep a man who didn't love her. She was on a path of self destruction, that was as ugly as it was beautiful. I mean, beautiful in a way that softened my heart toward her and began my understanding of Ava a little more than in Changing Lanes. The way she treated people who should mean the world to her was done in a way that tells a reader that she has no self worth. She is hurting and noone could hear her silent pleas for help. I don’t even think she really knew what she it was she needed from the man who was to win her heart. She just needed saving. From herself.
Ava was Trouble personified. As I got to know her a little more, and learn more of her story, I realised that I judged her without knowing all of her troubles. Let me say this, Leaona Luxx has, without a doubt, a rare knack for keeping a reader hanging off every word, while spinning and weaving intense intrigue and mystery into every chapter. i was not expecting Ava’s story to be so horrific. I unfairly judged her and was prepared to carry my dislike for her in Book 1, right through into Book 2. My impression of her changed dramatically and I gradually came to absolutely adore her. Although that woman frustrated the daylights out of me.
The man she would fall in love with and spend the rest of her life with, would have to be strong, understanding, patient and determined to stand by her side, no matter what. There were seemingly endless obstacles in her path to the HEA she never saw coming or could have ever anticipated. This author tells an angsty romance that is unique. I have been on the edge of my seat many times while reading many books, but never had it happened in the very first chapter. Nor did it continue to the very last. I was left speechless at the perfect, flawless way she delivered this story of broken lovers and their epic battle of wills, their many heated debates, their many, many heated and ridiculously passionate loving, and ultimately, that ever present magnetism that just draws them back to each other, time and time again.
U-Turn was a constant thrill and an adrenalin packed read that everyone needs to read. To experience the most from this series, I recommend reading Changing Lanes first. I cannot say enough how much enjoyment this series and this author will give you. You will experience a new reading pleasure that will leave an incredibly lasting memory. A HUGE 5 STARS

This story has me speechless. My feelings on this story ranged from happiness to "WHAT JUST HAPPENED!" And "Oh she did not!?" To " it's about dang time!" These two have quite the journey. The authors telling of the story had me very invested in these two characters. Can I just say right off the bat that I love, love, loved the idea of the letters that Riley wrote! Ingenious!
I loved Riley almost from the get go. He was so solid in his love for his girl. When he wavered (those few times) his brother or friends stepped up to remind him to look at his end game and never give up because not only is she worth it but he is too. I completely enjoy Riley's relationship with his brother, Walker. They have the typical brother relationship, you know, beating each other up, punching each other in the arm all in the name of brotherhood. He is always there for Riley when he needs him. Walker is one of Riley's and Ava's strongest supporters and the things he does to help them? Well…. I guess you will have to read and find out!
Ava is a whole different game. She was damaged and thought herself unrepairable. Granted she hasn't had it so good in the past but I think her future is brighter. She has Andi and I seriously think Torrie is an angel. That whole relationship left me stunned to say the least. I mean, Who does that? An angel that's who! Apparently I need to read the first book of Brannon, Torri and Ava.
The friends these guys have are phenomenal! Ava thinks everyone in town dislikes her but when she calls Torrie for help not only does Torrie come but she brings other girls. Same with Riley when he needs help with different things throughout the book he goes to One. One calls in his boys and a few others. These two are covered by their friends and don't even realize it. Plus it's so cute how they are all rooting for Riley to get Ava.
One of my favorite things Riley says:
Riley's words to Ava when she is doubting him...her….and everything:
You are more than enough, you are more than you see.
On a side note I see this book has a listing of erotica and if I had payed attention to that I would not have read it. This story has so much more to it. Okay, the sex scenes are hotty, hot, hot but this book is mostly about the story of these two people. I would have blindly passed on so much because of the classification. I would have missed out on all the relationships between friends and family, all the laughter and joking, all the sadness and tears but mostly the love that spans years not just moments.

Ava, a hot mess, with a reputation of being the town whore, and nothing but trouble. She wants so badly to change all that and just doesn't have enough faith in herself to make it happen. A tragic event in her past has her believing there is no hope for happiness for her. She has a daughter who lives with her ex Brannon, and his wife Torrie, and no matter how much Ava loves her, she knows this is the best thing for all of them. Her ex’s new wife Torrie has given her an opportunity to right some of the wrongs in her life and she's trying with all she has to make it work. She still can't believe with all the bad things she did to Brannon and Torrie that they still want her in their lives and her daughter's life, but she will take it.
Riley just gets back to town and runs into “trouble” before he even makes it home. He is pretty sure he has loved her since he was 6 years old, but she never knew because she was always so hung up on his friend Brannon, so he left town hoping that would cure him of the beautiful disaster she always was and obviously still is. She has built quite the reputation in town and realizes that she truly believes what everyone says about her which is something he wants to change, he wants her to believe in herself and realize she deserves happiness. He loves her still and knows she loves him too, problem is she doesn't know it yet.
Ava has secrets she will not share which cause her to constantly push Riley away and as he starts making some progress he receives news that he hoped wouldn't come, news he doesn't know how to share with Ava. During a dinner with his family someone slips and tells Ava and although Riley knew it would be a shock, he had no idea just how deeply affected she would be. Can these two overcome all the obstacles ahead of them? Can Ava get out of her own way and change not only what others think of her but what she thinks of herself?
I really loved this story. This is my first book by this author so I didn't read the first in this series which I plan to download as soon as possible, as well as others that seem to be somewhat connected. This is book two in the Highway 17 series, with that said I read it as a standalone and didn’t struggle to understand any story lines within the novel. Leaona Luxx did a great job weaving the entirety of each character and their backstory into the present so well that I did not feel I was missing anything. However, it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, and I will be going back to read the first in the series and learn more about Brannon, Torrie and Andie, as well as how Ava got to the point she is in this book.
I have not read anything of Leaona’s before and I was swept off my feet by this book, and the characters in it. I had so many emotions throughout the entirety of it. Ava is just living day to day at the moment. She has not had an easy life, not in childhood, and most definitely not in adulthood. Her actions have sadly tainted her name amongst the small town in which she lives. “Everyone knows who you are, and what you do. Maybe you should try doing it for someone who can help you.” Despite this she still has some fire in her left to fight back and try to become a better mother and a better woman. Brannon, the father of her child, is married now to Torrie and she believes that she deserves a second chance and has really gone above and beyond to help her get started in nursing school. She is holding a steady job, not the best but its paying the bills, and otherwise keeping things pretty much straight and narrow. She is not looking for love either, until an old childhood friend walks back into her life one day.

Ava and Riley are the couple in this story. U-Turn is the second book by Leaona Luxx in the Highway 17 series. I was not a fan of Ava in the first book, so I was kind of hesitant to want to read this one. But Leaona Luxx is an amazing writer, and she made me fall in love with someone I thought I couldn’t even like.
Growing up with no parents, and being raised by a grandmother that didn’t want her, set Ava on a path of self destruction. She just wanted to be loved, so she looked for love any where she could get it. Desperation for love, sher even got pregnant to try to keep a man in her life. Ava and Riley are the couple in this story. U-Turn is the second book by Leaona Luxx in the Highway 17 series. I was not a fan of Ava in the first book, so I was kind of hesitant to want to read this one. But Leaona Luxx is an amazing writer, and she made me fall in love with someone I thought I couldn’t even like.
Growing up with no parents, and being raised by a grandmother that didn’t want her, set Ava on a path of self destruction. She just wanted to be loved, so she looked for love any where she could get it. Desperation for love, sher even got pregnant to try to keep a man in her life. Ava and Riley’s story is so emotionally driven, I cannot remember the number of times I had tears in my eyes. I highly recommend this read, I could not put it down. I was so absorbed by Ava and Riley’s story, it was infectious!
Ava is a girl with a dark past, causing her to act out from feelings of unworthiness and loneliness. She quickly spirals out of control and does some unspeakable things to those she is meant to love.
She has re-evaluated her life and with the help of those she tried to hurt, she is slowly pulling herself out of the gutter, to become a better person, to shake the reputation of town whore and be worthy of her daughter.
Riley has been in love with Ava forever. Returning after 5 years, he is quick to take up the mantle of Ava’s best friend again, in the hope that she will finally see what has always been there just waiting for a chance.
Riley jumps right into Ava’s life and she finally starts to believe in herself and the possibilities in the future. It is amazing what letting his love has done for her. But there are past demons lurking in the dark that threaten to ruin everything she is working toward, and she is still not in a good enough place to be able to fully deal with her triggers. If she cannot believe in herself how can she expect others to believe in her?
This was such a beautiful story about a girls strength and determination to attempt to overcome the demons lurking under her bed (and believe me some of them were pretty hairy!!) and be worthy of the love of her best friend and the man who has shown her more love in a short period of time than anyone has ever before. How can you recognise love when you have never felt it before? Is it possible to overcome your past and live for a brighter future? Will Ava’ and Riley get there HEA? This is the first book I have read by Leaona Luxx and I must say I will definitely read more by her.
This story will pull you in and have you turning each page to see what happens to Ava and Riley.
Ava is a strong female who has had more wrong than right happen in her life. The small town she lives in has always used her for gossip, and some of it rightly spoken, but what it has done to her self-esteem keeps her from moving on. She decides after some soul searching, and with the help of Torrie, that she will change her life. She has two jobs. She is going back to school to be an LPN and she wants to be in her daughter's life. But can she overcome all the self doubt?
Riley has known Ava since he was six and been in like, lust and love with her all these years. he has tried to forget her but she ha a pull on him that he can't shake. So he returns one last time to see if she can finally see what he feels for her and maybe make a go at a relationship with her.
This story is so well written and the themes are woven so well that the reader will be pulled in.
Ava desperately needs to deal with her demons and all the negative talk she has heard her entire life. Even when she makes strides she is sure she will fail or that people will not give her the benefit of the doubt. When things get tough she reverts back to being sassy and giving everyone the finger because she needs to protect what little she has of her self-worth.
Riley loves Ava and would do anything for her and never knowingly hurt her, but he does. While he has faith in her and believes she can and should rise above her past he still, deep inside, believes some of what he ha heard his entire life about her.
Both these characters need to come to realize how words and actions from others have effected them and how they look at each other.
This is a wonderful story about family, love and trust. And how hard those things can be when you never had them.
