Turtles is one of a series of simple science books that are perfect science non-fiction books for the preschool classroom; The information is presented in simple terms a preschool child can understand, most of the page is a large and interesting picture of various types of turtles with facts about types, where they live. This easy to understand information gives the preschool child a reading experience where they learn about an animal they see in their environment but do not often get to see up close.
Same review as "Bears" by Melvin and Gilda Berger. I ordered all these little science books from scholastic, so it is hard to know what you are going to get. I was expecting so much more out of these books. The semantics can make the book confusing and it is so simple, I'm not sure how anyone can really learn from them. I guess they are supposed to be easy to read, but who wants to read such boring books? At least they all have good pictures.
There are many types of turtles and some people do not even know. This book shows turtles and their habitats. It also describes their lifestyles and foods they eat. Their body make us amazing and the pictures are great representations of the information. This book would also be used for topics on water animals as well as dry land animals.
