Rage is an International Political Thriller. Jack Anderson, the newly elected, optimistic President of the United States finds his political agenda put on hold when fifteen American naval officers unexpectedly seize control of a USS-Ohio class nuclear submarine. In possession of the most formidable war machine ever created, carrying enough nuclear weapons to destroy every major city in the Middle East, the mutineers form a new terrorist organization that threatens to attack militant Islamists and their supporters around the world. In a race against time, the FBI and the US military try to stop the deciphered missile launch codes from reaching the nuclear submarine and unravel a conspiracy that permeates the very foundations of the US government. Replete with sophisticated characters, international intrigue, murder and mayhem, RAGE confronts radical Islamic terrorism with a new western form of itself that threatens the entire world order.

REVIEW OF AUDIOBOOK; AUGUST 5, 2017 Narrator: Mark Deakins, Julia Whelan, Hilary Huber, Christopher Ashman and more
Whoa. This was not what I was expecting! Kept my earbuds glued to my ears, it did. Yes, I was expecting another political-espionage thriller along the lines of Mitch Rapp, Scot Harvath et al, but Raffill gave me something a little different and plenty suspenseful.
There is no (major) twist, no whodunit and no mystery. Just a simple one-dimensional plot but underlying that are the layers of various belief systems that inhabit our society today. It's PC America versus what-the-man-in-the-street wishes but won't admit to. Sick of more terrorist attacks and the inability of his government to put a stop to them, Captain John Besson decides to do something about it. He goes after the terrorists but he does it a little differently from Rapp or Harvath. The latter is like aiming an aerosol can at a cockroach and ZZZZZzzttt! The former is like bringing in the professional exterminator who sends the poison right into the pests' nests and destroys them. It's a huge mother-effin KABOOM instead of the zzzzttt.
So, yeah. I loved this, unshamedly un-pc of me, I know, but this is what Rapp, Harvath, and company would prefer to do!
I was wondering how the author would end his book and am happy to say I am 100% satisfied.
The narration: Best audio production I've heard and I've listened to many since I switched from ebooks to audiobooks. Mark Deakins did a fantastic job as the main narrator and as John Besson. Superb support was provided by Julia Whelan and Hilary Huber , though I don't know which female performed which character. There are other supporting narrators but I was too caught up in the story to notice. Each chapter was prefaced by a music clip which, to my relief, was short so it did not interfere with the narration, unlike some of Baldacci's Will Robie books where the intro music to each chapter could stretch over 5 interminable minutes at the same time as the narration is going on. Horrible!
At $7.49 with free Kindle Unlimited deal, this audiobook is my best buy for 2017.
Author presents a complex and riveting novel of national and international intrigue that is NOT your typical spy thriller. The characters are creatively crafted while being thoroughly human with all that encompasses. The reader does not have to suffer through unrealistic protagonists that are otherworldly brilliant and impervious to bullets. The story is a complete page turner and every time one is confident of the outcome, BOOM, there is a new thread to follow.
Just finished reading book. It is amazing and scary that things seemed real and up to date.
It is something that how the story was not real but contains Up to date situations. I just find it fascinating how a person can conceive the story. Everyone should read it to realize the state of the world and we need someone like our president and the brilliant people who we need bring our country great and safe again.
I don't typically read this genre, but Rage was recommended to me, so I picked up a copy. I could not put it down! The story was extremely interesting, particularly with what is currently going on in the world. I highly recommend this book!
Rage confronts international terrorism with a new form of Western terrorism that threatens the entire world order. But behind all the political intrigue and sophisticated high tech weaponry is a personal story about love and revenge, and a plot that keeps you guessing until it’s surprisingly twisted end. I would definitely recommend checking it out: https://stewartraffill.com/
Interesting premise and well written. Sadly however it panders to stereotypes about religion and the US government. Was expecting it to be better researched
Great espionage. Very real in today's conflicts, and lets face it, Trump wouldn't have gotten himself in such a conflicted decision. My new favorite author!!!!
