➳The ending and a beginning to a second chance love story that will have your heart swooning for both Logan and Kayla wanting more and become addicted with their writing…
➳After reading This Is Dangerous and coming back from the dead because of that ending, Kennedy Fox bring you the finale to a love story that not only breaks your heart, but it brings it back together with the chemistry of passion and adoration coming from both Logan and Kayla. After chasing Logan for so many months, and secretly loving him, Kayla got to a point in which she cannot endure those feelings to Logan due to her accident. Logan knew that he missed his opportunity to be with the one and only person that will forever fill his heart with compassion and affection. However, her not remembering him does nonstop him from taking it slow and try to conquer her heart once again to fill it with new memories and take away the old that will never come back. Or so we think…
➳Kennedy Fox bring a new story that not only as the great aspects of a second chance at loving your true soul mate, but they both also bring the idea of, how Anastasia Steele would say, “Kinky-fuckery” to the mix ;) As Logan tries his very best to get the love and passion from the old Kayla, he also learns how to love her like she loved him and waited for him all those months. Being the gentlemen he is, Logan begins to understand that even though memories were made in the past, creating a new future with special people in your life, creating a future full of positive and negative aspects is the way to live and he does not take that for granted when encountering himself with the new Kayla after her incident. ➳In general, this second chance love story will have you hooked with not only the magnificent drama both duet authors KF have written, but also with the compassionate and strong of endurance love that Kayla and Logan have for each other. If you want to read this book and have not read THIS IS DANGEROUS, then I highly recommend reading that novel first. It is not necessary to read the previous books from THE CHECKMATE series, but you get spoilers from this baby when reading a little bit of the lives from the previous characters.

After reading a really good romance I'm often left wishing that I could read it all over again for the first time. Well in This is Beautiful Kennedy Fox gave me that opportunity and it get's an A+ from me. Logan and Kayla had to rediscover their love for one another throughout this book and took readers on that journey with them. Not only did they get a chance to fall in love all over again, I got a chance to experience it for a second time. It made me love their characters even more than I did before and there couldn't have been a better ending to their story.
Knowing that this is the end to the Checkmate series is a little sad but it makes me extra excited to see with this amazing writing duo will come up with next.

I'm in love with a fictional man! Logan is so fracking amazing. I want him to be real so we can run off into the sunset, get married, and have lots of babies. Shhhh....Don't tell the hubster. LOL
But seriously, Logan is so yummy. After Kayla's accident, he tries really hard to do the right thing. He wants to stay close and offer her the support she needs, but also follow the advice of the medical professionals. He basically puts her needs before his, as any great guy will do. He was the highlight of the series for me.
I liked the change in Kayla. I could appreciate her struggle following the accident and was so happy when she made the decision to pursue a friendship with Logan. I have no idea how would respond if faced with a similar situation.

There was a bit of repetition, but I think Kayla's situation lends itself to that. If you're in the mood for a great second chance romance with a kickass hero and super sweet heroine, this is it!

5 'Knight in shining armor' Stars!
I can’t believe this is the last duet in this series! It seems like yesterday that we met this amazing crew and now it’s time to say goodbye to all of them. I do have to say: well done, Kennedy Fox! Because Logan and Kayla’s duet was the perfect way to end this. Their love story was so beautiful to read, I did not want it to end.
Since I read both books together (because I don’t deal well with waiting and cliffhangers..), this review will be about the whole duet. This is Dangerous and This is Beautiful are the last two novels in the Checkmate series and they tell the love story between Logan and Kayla. Both want each other pretty badly (and Kayla states that clearly to Logan) but he is very afraid to love again. Logan likes being in control of his life and he wants to be fully dedicated to his adorable daughter but he cannot stop his feelings for Kayla.
Falling in love with Kayla Sinclair would be reckless. Allowing her to fall for me would be dangerous.
I feel like this duet was the most emotional of the three and that’s why it just became my favorite. Logan and Kayla haven’t had the easiest life and in a way it’s still affecting them both. Their story is not an easy one, it’s not all hearts and flowers (and HOT HOT HOT sex!) and that is precisely what makes it especial. Everything that happens in This is Beautiful makes you connect even more with this amazing couple!

“I don’t come with a warning, Angel. Maybe I should.”
“Our bodies were made for each other, Kayla. Always were. Always will be.”
I loved the characters, I loved seeing the interaction of the other couples, I loved that cute girl Logan has and I loved the crazy chemistry between our main couple. Kayla and Logan definitely do not lack AT ALL on that. The sex is off-the-charts hot and everything gets even better with the mysteries and the feels. These two will make you laugh, swoon and cry, that’s for sure! But it’s so worth it at the end!
This feeling, this connection between us, this beautiful thing we share—it’s indescribable.
I never want to stop making love to my girl. She’s everything and more of who I could’ve imagined giving my heart to.
Therefore, I am rating Logan and Kayla’s duet with 5 STARS because, for me, it’s definitely the best creation by Kennedy Fox to date. This couple is perfect for each other! So, I will surely miss all these characters but I am sure these two ladies are bringing more goodies our way (and I can’t wait!). Highly recommend reading the Checkmate series!

OMG GUYS!
This series is trying to kill me. Logan and Kayla were something! They definitely had to fight their way back into each other's lives. It doesn't help that Kayla completely forgot who he was - due to a coma and losing her memory. Yet, it doesn't help them when Logan's ex is trying to get back with him either.
Oh lord, so many things were happening and I didn't know which way was up at one point. Definitely happy that everything started to make sense towards the end. It made me completely happy that things worked out for everyone involved. I also really enjoyed getting to see all the previous characters from the other books in this series.
No idea what I'm going to do next in my life but maybe I'll find another awesome series to dive into on my audible!

~*~ 4 1/2 STARS ~*~
The minute this book showed up on my iPad, a couple of things went through my mind. First of all, this is the last book in the entire Checkmate Duet Series and I didn’t want it to end! I’ve grown so attached to these characters that I didn't know what the hell I would do with myself once it was all over. Second of all, I knew this book would BREAK ME! I knew that the second I read the last few pages in book one of Logan and Kayla’s story. I didn’t even get to the second page before my heart was breaking in two for these beautiful characters. Lastly, I knew the minute it was over, I was going to want to read the entire series over again, and really...who has time for that?! This just proves that the ladies of Kennedy Fox has done their job and has done it extremely well. Not only am I addicted to these characters and their stories, I’m addicted to the writing style that these two authors have created together. It’s beyond seamless! It flows with perfection and it’s just an effortless read!

I can’t say much about the plot of the book because I don’t want to give anything away, but I can’t wait to read the thoughts of other fans out there. I want to shout from the rooftops how amazing this whole series is...how completely unforgettable it has become to me. If you’re not used to reading a book in one sitting, you need to get used to it fast because I DARE YOU to walk away from Logan and Kayla once you start. It’s almost impossible!
This second chance romance is heart-wrenchingly beautiful, sexy, sweet, and ADDICTIVE! You will need tissues. You will need access to a cold shower. You will need a friend to vent to when it gets tough. And needing these things is exactly what makes this book and this series an absolute MUST READ ROMANCE!

aaaaaaaand the series is finally over!
I'm so sad to say goodbye to the characters and their stories because I loved them so much. I did want a little bit more from this final book though (hence why I knocked off a star) but it was still amazing and I completely flew through it.
If you're looking for a classic trashy romance series then you NEED to read these books. They're incredible and you won't regret it.

And this marks the end of the series.
That was as good as the previous book; however, I wanted more. I expected more. I can't pinpoint what was lacking, but regardless, the book was still really good. Now that the series is done, I'm quite sad because I've grown to love the characters over the past year and this is the end.
Logan and Kayla are great characters. Logan is dreamy, selfless and just genuinely good and caring. Kayla is one of the best NA MCs I've come across so far; she's caring and lovely and she's so passionate about animals!!
If you're looking for a fast-paced and easy read, I definitely recommend this series especially since it has many tropes (first two books being enemies-to-lovers; third and fourth books being friends-to-lovers; and fifth and sixth books being second chance romance).

What a bittersweet feeling to be at the end of the Checkmate series! It was a long and crazy ride, but I'm glad I went through that journey! I have to say that even though I loved Logan and Kayla, I wasn't amused with the cliffie on the previous book and how it took over the majority of this final book. It's probably the thing that brought so much drama and angst and I wasn't crazy about it. But I did love the ending. Even though I'd rather have a closure with the whole gang together. Maybe a novella? I think Drew and Courtney's story was my favorite one overall and I'm glad they're writing a series about her brothers. A chance to maybe meet them again! That's all from me :)

Standing ovation for the incredible writing duo that is
Kennedy Fox!
These ladies have written a very entertaining series of duets that kept me glued to my screen and gasping for breath with the best/worst cliffhangers imaginable!
Checkmate: This is Dangerous picks up directly where the previous book ended. I was swept right back into the tangle of emotions that book one had left me in. My stomach was in knots, I couldn't believe such a thing had happened to my beloved characters. And I couldn't possibly even begin to imagine being in either of their situations. And yet, that's exactly what the authors did - the emotions were so real and raw that I felt them as if they were my own. My heart ACHED for Kayla and Logan. And there was nothing that I could do but sit back and pray that they could overcome such an impossible feat.
I ADORE K+L. Out of the three couples in the series, these two are by far my favorite! Sorry Travis and Viola...
Kayla and Logan are just so believable and their chemistry is off the charts! And don't we all deserve a man like Logan Knight? I think so.

There was a HUGE cliffy in book #1 and book #2 takes off where the first one ended...
Kayla hit her head and now she doesn't remember the last two years - including Logan.
He's completely shocked that the woman he loves no longer recognizes him. BUT, she's still hugely attracted to him, so there might be a chance for them.
Logan tries to be there for her as a good friend while Kayla tries to get her memory back.
And then there's all the mystery and excitement from book #1 to clear up.
What was Kayla doing in that house? Who are those people? Who is Abby? What about the old man who got his dog stolen?
WHAT IS HAPPENING!!! WILL KAYLER EVER REMEMBER ANYTHING??
What will happen to Kayla & Logan?
Will there be a HEA?

And our four other darlings too!
It's all so sad. Poor Logan. Poor Kayla. It's horrible for both of them.
But of course we're hoping that Kayla will remember what Logan means to her soon.
But it's not as easy as that.
Kayla feels bad that Logan is so in love with her and she can't remember anything. Ugh!
But even without Kayla's memory this book was very adorable and sexy and exciting and sad and moving!
Lots of sweet doggie scenes and father and dauther scenes.

... were there some things I didn't like? Hm not really. But the writing is not my thing. But that's my problem. I can't really explain it. Some expressions or words just seem wrong to me. Wrong words in the wrong place. Too complicated words or sentences in situations where no one would ever talk like that. Words missing where I learned in school to put words. No idea what I really mean. I'm weird! I've noticed that in all the previous Kennedy Fox books too. It's just their kind of style. It's just not a writing style I love. But I love the stories! ☺

Finishing this book has been nothing short of bittersweet. Reading, experiencing and devouring the conclusion to the entire Checkmate Duet Series has made me feel so sentimental, so giddy and blue all at the same time. I just couldn't believe we've reached the end of the line for these three couples we've stuck by from the beginning. Though I'm really glad K & F gave us that kind of epilogue in this book, because I think that truly helped me cope and breathe easier after. It finally tied everything all together and I couldn't have asked for a better ending for Travis & Viola, Drew & Courtney, and Logan & Kayla than that.
Kennedy Fox certainly gives second chance romance a whole new meaning in this conclusion to Logan and Kayla's sweet, emotional and captivating tale. It's unique and refreshing, not the usual type of story that will automatically come to mind when given this sub genre. It was all kinds of heartbreaking and heartwarming, that even my heart felt utterly confused as to what it wanted to feel in the midst of it all. One minute, I was ecstatic that Logan was putting in all the work, displaying more of his efforts in getting his girl back and proving how much he truly and deeply felt for Kayla. The next, I just wanted to smack Kayla upside on the head and shake her awake, hoping everything will go back to normal and that Logan will be put out of his misery. You could say... the struggle was freaking real.
I think the part I loved and enjoyed the most about this was probably the fact that, to me, This is Beautiful centered on Logan Knight. It highlighted so much of his strengths and weaknesses, his capabilities and insecurities. I fell madly in love with this detective all over again when he showed just how far he'd go to make Kayla feel him brimming with so much love and passion for her, even if it meant ripping his own bleeding heart out. It brought out a side to him that I actually craved to see from our Knight in shining armor since This is Dangerous. And pink gigantic glazed donuts, he did not let me down. Not. One. Bit. I mean, how much more perfect can this man be?
And with Kayla, this just proved that her sincere compassion, her love and concern for others above all else, completely knows no bounds. Regardless of any situation she found herself in, her selflessness was still the first instinct to kick in. It's truly no wonder why she's the woman—the only woman in years—who was able to melt all that ice and break down the walls surrounding Detective Knight's heart, and owning it in the process. This woman is just quirky as hell, so generous and passionate, not to mention the best doggy dealer in Sacramento (<-- that still cracks me up every single time). And seriously, how can you not love her? She freaking named her pups after Disney princes! I don't think I'll ever forget nor get over that. I think that alone makes her a true winner in my book.
The Checkmate Duet Series has been such an unforgettable journey. It's one of the sexiest, heart-melting, most delicious and entertaining series I've read. As I've said, it's been bittersweet reading the last page of this book, but that also means getting a new book, a new series from this brilliant author duo very soon. What a sweet conclusion to the Checkmate series! Checkmate: This is Beautiful is book 2 in Logan and Kayla's story and should only be read after Checkmate: This is Dangerous.
The book picks up right where the last one left off and your heart will hurt all over again with this painful reminder of how book 1 ended.
Of all the Checkmate books, I felt like this one was the most real in it's emotions. You can easily imagine yourself in both Logan or Kayla's position and how incredibly difficult it would be to navigate. Some very interesting questions about relationships are posed and what it means to truly love someone versus a strong physical connection. Can you fall in love with the same person without the shared history and memories? Or is love enough to begin again?
I liked that there wasn't a big mystery to solve and that the focus of the story was on Logan and Kayla's relationship itself. Yes, there's a little other woman/man drama thrown in for good measure and some of the story seemed drawn out, but overall, the book answers all your lingering questions from This is Dangerous and the angst is between our hero and heroine. Toss in some sinfully sexy times (mmm..... donuts) and this made for an amazing second chance love story. Honestly, I will NEVER look at donuts the same way again!
The ending and epilogue were perfect and such a wonderful way to bring things full circle. I think Logan is now the winner of the Checkmate book boyfriends. He really was incredible and his chapters were especially touching and heartfelt. Seeing this softer and more vulnerable side to him was amazing. It's bittersweet that the series is over, but I'm glad we're not saying good bye to the Checkmate world. Courtney's brothers will be the focus of the next series titled Bishop Boys and I can't wait to see what mischief Kennedy Fox has in store for us!

I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT THIS SERIES IS OVER! *cue the tears*
This was THE PERFECT ending to Kayla and Logan's story! GAH! I just felt SO many emotions with this couple from start to finish, at times I seriously could not breathe. That's Kennedy Fox for you huh?!
This was the final chapter in the Checkmate Duet Series and everything I felt from Kayla and Logan was just the entire series TEN FOLD! Basically I was eating, sleeping, and breathing donuts and dogs until I finished this book. It seriously could not have been more of a perfect ending.
Kennedy Fox deserves the world for this series. From the start to the end, they did nothing but deliver. That alone, just put the cherry on top of Kayla and Logan's story.

I was really excited to see how the cliffhanger was playing out in This is Beautiful and Kennedy Fox didn’t disappoint. The longing and heartbreak from book 1 was all there and then some.
“When I realized you couldn’t remember, a piece of my heart went missing too.”
Kayla and Logan had so much to face and so much to overcome. It seemed like their affection and love only grew and became stronger than ever before. They were a great couple and seeing them fighting for each other was everything.
The thing that I enjoyed most about this duet was that the drama was kept to a minimum. Obviously the cliffhanger caused some drama but it was only so much so that it kept the story going. There was no unnecessary drama and no artificially created problems.
There is this one certain secondary character, that appears in both This is Dangerous and This is Beautiful, who could’ve caused this kind of drama but I am so glad (and kind of thankful) that Kennedy Fox decided against this turn of events. I’m sure it would’ve made me lower my rating.
The Logan & Kayla duet is by far my favorite and the one duet out of three that completely convinced me. Their story is so beautiful, heartbreaking, and real, this duet is a must for every romance lover out there.

3-3.5 stars!! There's some unnecessary drama here and there, but overall I really did enjoy Kayla and Logan's ending. It's sweet, a little angsty, and verrry dramatic. Fans of the series will love this Checkmate duet finale! For me, this might be my fav of the series. Review to come!

How is this series already over? I feel like I just discovered Kennedy Fox yesterday and their fun, quirky series is coming to an end. After reading the ending of This is Dangerous, I have been DYING to read the conclusion to Kayla and Logan's story!
Kayla Sinclair has always been on her own and felt a passion for giving back to others. The moment Logan Knight appeared in her life, Kayla couldn't help but fall hard for her knight in shining armor. But when tragedy strikes and Kayla loses all memory of ever loving Logan, Logan is devastated. Logan does everything in his power to remind Kayla of their love, but can they fall in love all over again or will they stay strangers forever?
Of course, I was super excited to jump into this one. I always wondered why Kayla and Logan's duo was marketed as a Second Chance romance and now I know why. It was heartbreaking watching Logan have to try to make Kayla fall in love with him again and I really appreciated how realistic that plot line was. Kayla didn't just fall into Logan's arms; Kayla had to work up to even going on a date with him and even then there were many trials. I loved how Kayla got to really reevaluate her life now that she had a fresh perspective on it and really think about what she was passionate about.
While this was super emotional and very sweet, it did still feel a little slow at times. This book was just watching Kayla and Logan get to know each other again and nothing truly exciting happened that made me want to read until I couldn't keep my eyes open. And the big mystery behind the case Logan was dealing with felt a bit of a letdown. It was still surprising, but I wanted something shocking.
Overall, this was a super sweet conclusion to a very fun, entertaining series. All of these couples are made of each other and I love how tight-knit Viola, Courtney, and Kayla were throughout the whole series. While I'm definitely going to miss these characters, I can't wait to meet the cowboys Kennedy Fox is bringing us next!

This was a wonderful end to this Wonderful Series. Logan and Kayla have stolen my heart. Watching them fall in love in "This is Dangerous" was so wonderful and the end left me heartbroken. Kennedy Fox took Second Chance romance to a whole new level. With Kayla's memory gone Logan has to win her back. It went from Kayla chasing Logan to Logan chasing Kayla. My heart broke for Logan so much in this book. I felt so bad for him and also for Kayla. They both have to find a way to live with this new reality of no memories. Logan won't give up on Kayla he will be whatever she needs him to be. Kayla has to learn about the last two years all over again which means she has to learn about Logan again. She can see why she would fall for him he is gorgeous and so sweet.The physical attraction is there she just has to fall back in love with him. Logan loves Kayla with everything he has and all he wants is for her to remember the love they shared. Reading about this wonderful couple going through this was so heartbreaking. This couple has a special place in my heart I love them so much. This is a pair that was meant to be. Kayla and Logan are a couple you become invested in. From beginning to end this couple has gone through so much and has only come out stronger. This was a heartbreakingly Wonderful read.

Oh my gosh, Kennedy Fox, how dare you ladies put me on an emotional rollercoaster!
I loved all 3 couples so much, but Logan and Kayla are definitely my favorite out of the bunch. I just love their chemistry together. This is Dangerous left us with a MAJOR cliffhanger, and thankfully Lyra and Brooke did not disappoint with the conclusion in This is Beautiful. My emotions were all over the place. My heart was hurting for Logan and Kayla. I cried. a lot. But I loved every single minute of it.
I am so sad that the checkmate duet series has officially come to an end.

This is Beautiful picks up where This is Dangerous left off, with our girl Kayla waking up and Logan being shocked about what happened next.
This book, man. THIS BOOK. It's such an impossible situation, for both Logan and Kayla, and my heart kept breaking for the two of them. K and F managed to write it in a way that left me with all the feels, praying page after page that something would happen, that it would all go back to BEFORE again.
This is Beautiful is such a page turner. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down, which is what happened with every single one of the books is this series! I'm half zombie after reading the Checkmate Duet series for being so sleep deprived! Worth it, though!
Logan and Kayla's story made me laugh, scream, cry, gasp! It really did give me all the feels!
And what a perfect way to wrap up this amazing series! Thank you Kennedy Fox for writing this amazing series of duets. It's been so much fun following these couples' stories and I can't wait to get my hands on your next books!

Checkmate: This is Beautiful was an amazing finale to the Checkmate Duet series and Logan & Kayla's duet, and one of my favorite second chance romances ever! I know I've probably said this in every review I've written for this series, but I absolutely loved Kennedy Fox's writing style. This exceptionally talented author duo continues to blow me away with every book they write, and I honestly can't get enough of the phenomenal and addicting storylines and characters they create. To say they've found a fan in me is a huge understatement. :)
Logan and Kayla are one of my favorite couples - if not the favorite - in the Checkmate Duet series, and I immensely loved reading the conclusion to their story. It was heartbreaking and bittersweet at times, but all of it was completely worth it in the end. Logan and Kayla were both extremely sweet, caring, and had such big hearts, and I couldn't help but fall even more in love with them in this book. I loved their personalities and chemistry together, and while This is Beautiful was different than what I was expecting, I enjoyed how their story and relationship progressed throughout. There were a few surprising and unexpected twists and turns that I didn't see coming, but I enjoyed all of it nonetheless. If you've read This is Dangerous, the first book of Logan & Kayla's duet, and you know how that one ended, you'll understand what I mean. I loved getting to see all of the couples and a few other characters from past books in the series, although I would have loved to have seen them incorporated even more. Logan and Kayla's duet was truly wonderful, and one I won't forget anytime soon. The last several chapters of This is Beautiful were my absolute favorite, and I loved the conclusion to Logan and Kayla's story.
Checkmate: This is Beautiful was sexy, addicting, and swoon-worthy, and I couldn't have been happier with the resolution to such an amazing and unforgettable couple's story. I'm incredibly sad that the Checkmate Duet series is complete, but Kennedy Fox did a phenomenal job with Logan and Kayla's duet, and I am so freaking excited to read what they write next! If you haven't checked out any of their books yet, you should really do so ASAP!

This exceptionally talented author duo continues to blow me away with every book they write, and I honestly can't get enough of the phenomenal and addicting storylines and characters they create. To say they've found a fan in me is a huge understatement. :)
Logan and Kayla are one of my favorite couples - if not the favorite - in the Checkmate Duet series, and I immensely loved reading the conclusion to their story. It was heartbreaking and bittersweet at times, but all of it was completely worth it in the end. Logan and Kayla were both extremely sweet, caring, and had such big hearts, and I couldn't help but fall even more in love with them in this book. I loved their personalities and chemistry together, and while This is Beautiful was different than what I was expecting, I enjoyed how their story and relationship progressed throughout. There were a few surprising and unexpected twists and turns that I didn't see coming, but I enjoyed all of it nonetheless. If you've read This is Dangerous, the first book of Logan & Kayla's duet, and you know how that one ended, you'll understand what I mean. I loved getting to see all of the couples and a few other characters from past books in the series, although I would have loved to have seen them incorporated even more. Logan and Kayla's duet was truly wonderful, and one I won't forget anytime soon. The last several chapters of This is Beautiful were my absolute favorite, and I loved the conclusion to Logan and Kayla's story.
Checkmate: This is Beautiful was sexy, addicting, and swoon-worthy, and I couldn't have been happier with the resolution to such an amazing and unforgettable couple's story. I'm incredibly sad that the Checkmate Duet series is complete, but Kennedy Fox did a phenomenal job with Logan and Kayla's duet, and I am so freaking excited to read what they write next! If you haven't checked out any of their books yet, you should really do so ASAP!

I've sat on this review for days wondering how I'm going to fully express everything I'm feeling about this but this book, this series and these two incredible authors. This review is incredibly hard to write as This Is Beautiful sees the end of a series that has captured my heart and soul, holds it tight and will hold it forever. Now you may think this is a little dramatic but let me explain…
A year ago, duo Kennedy Fox reached out to me under what was then their, secret pen name and asked me to read their first book, This Is War. I did, and so the INCREDIBLE, adventure began. Over the year, I watched them grow from strength to strength. The effort and passion that these two put into everything is clear to see and I have been overwhelmed by their success! When the Checkmate series began, I don't think anyone would have known that, six books later, Kennedy Fox, would be a force to be reckoned with, USA Today bestsellers and an unstoppable author duo. But they are! This is Beautiful is their sixth book together and it's without doubt their best yet!!!
This is Beautiful sees the end of the Checkmate series as a whole and brilliantly ties up Logan and Kayla's story. This book was their most emotional, hard hitting, heartbreaking, book yet. It was also their best written. From beginning to end, Kennedy Fox capture the attention of their readers, steal their hearts and leave them breathless. I wish I could go back to the start and read again with fresh eyes. Logan and Kayla have a relationship like no other, the journey they have been on and the journey the readers have been on with them has been, oh so memorable. However, for Logan and Kayla, Kayla especially, those memories are hard to come by. Kennedy Fox dealt with this situation with priceless precision, they fused together a story of love and heartache, beautifully. They delivered emotion and feeling and heat and passion. Their characters fuse together through undeniable chemistry. And it's HOT. So, so, sooo HOT. I'll just say #dicksanddonuts and leave it at that, *fans self and reads that scene for the 50th time* #noshame!

I can't believe this series is over! A year ago, I got a message from Kennedy Fox, who I had never heard of before asking if I wanted a copy of This is War. And what a journey it's been! This book was good, some parts a little rushed, but overall these duets have been really entertaining! The outcome of some of the things that happened made me proud of Kayla. Both Logan and Kayla went through some tough times in this one, but now that these characters found their ending, I am so ready for the Bishop brothers!

This is Beautiful is the conclusion to Logan and Kayla’s duet and the last book in the Checkmate series. It was bittersweet. While I am happy that this series ended on a high note (and am super excited for the next series by Kennedy Fox), I fell in love with these characters and it is hard to say goodbye. I think this book was a good conclusion to an amazingly addicting series! With that being said, I HIGHLY recommend NOT reading any reviews for This is Beautiful prior to reading it! I think although most readings and bloggers have tried their best to not give away the big cliffhanger, I think that even with some of the slightest comments, the ending could be guessed. And trust me when I say, YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED FOR THESE BOOKS!

This is Beautiful left of right where This is Dangerous (book one) left off which was on a HUGE cliffhanger! I don’t want to go into too many details since it would be really easy to give away spoilers, but just know that everything wraps up perfectly. Nothing is left unanswered and although this book will pull out A LOT of deep feelings, it did leave me happy and satisfied after turning the last page!
I really liked Logan in this book. Although his character starts opening up more in book one, I really felt his love for Kayla in this book. He showed his emotions openly and his feelings were never a question for me. His character development was great and I loved how much he evolved! And Kayla! She went through SO much and it is like she just can’t catch a break. From her traumatic childhood, to her heart-breaking secret, to the devastating events at the end of book one, she has continuously shown how strong, selfless and kind she is.
Although this book does have some drama and mystery in it, the main focus is on the relationship between Logan and Kayla. This book is almost like starting from square one again, with Logan trying to get back to where they were prior to the end of book one. Again, I don’t want to go into too much detail, but I will say I loved how kind, patient and understanding Logan was. The romance was definitely my favorite part of this book!
One thing I absolutely love about this series is the amazing couples! I loved getting to see how the relationships of Travis and Viola and Courtney and Drew progressed since their stories left off. Travis and Viola is still my absolute favorite couple from this series, but they all hold a special place in my reader heart.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and loved this series! I can’t wait to pick up the next series by Kennedy Fox because I am sure it will be just as addictive and fun as these books! If you have not started this series and are looking for a good contemporary romance series full of great characters, amazing friendships, and heart-felt romance, then I recommend starting with book one, This is War, and finishing with this book. You won’t regret it!

You will need to have read Checkmate: This is Dangerous prior to reading This is Beautiful, as things start up right where Dangerous ended.
I am not going to lie, I have terrible bookzheimer's so I did go back and read the last chapter of Dangerous before starting this one, and I am glad I did as I had forgotten where the first book ended.
And when I started Beautiful,I was thrown right back into Logan-Land and didn't want to leave.
Our lovelies story is not always rainbows and butterflies. I don't want to give anything away, but let me tell you, all the feels! It is raw, emotional, I wanted to laugh, I wanted to cry. I wanted to hit one particular character over the head with my Kindle - if you have read the first in the duet you will know which one I am talking about.
I adore both Logan and Kayla - can't help it, they're just both so likable!
And I may again be having cravings for doughnuts!
I LOVE that we got more of the guys and gals from the earlier duets in the Checkmate series. It is fun to see where they are all at as the series progressed.
It is always bittersweet when a series comes to an end, however I have adored every minute I have spent reading the Checkmate books.
Now I am impatiently awaiting this duos next series, coming early next year.

As i stated in my review for the first part of this duet Checkmate: This is Dangerous these are my first reads of Kennedy Fox

but this duet has got me hooked i've already downloaded the other two duets and i can't wait to see whats to come from these two amazing ladies.
I'm going to try and keep my review as spoiler free as possible because there is just so much that happens in this read that i honestly wouldn't be able to stop.
Checkmate: This is Beautiful is book 2 in the Duet. Of Logan Knight and Kayla Sinclair we pick up right where we left off in This is Dangerous... Kayla has lost the last two years of her memory!!!
THIS IS WHAT A SECOND-CHANCE ROMANCE IS ALL ABOUT!!!
Nothing is going to stop Logan from fighting and showing her the love they had and to get back to were they were. Now Logan must help Kayla to trust him and fall in love with him all over again.. will she?!
This story is beautifully written that you feel all the emotions thrown at us page after page. Your heartbreaks wanting them to get back to what they had!! But the one person she just doesn't connect with is the one who loves her unconditionally. Can Kayla ever remember the love they shared together.. or will she let Logan go and just become a distant memory that she may never remember???
Kennedy Fox has given us an amazing second chance romance in this duet i couldn't put it book down! It had everything i wanted from a second chance read within these pages, it's heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. It has passion and amazing chemistry not just between Kayla and Logan but also within the friendships in this books.
