The Power of Forgiveness: A Collection of Short Stories

Have you ever been faced with the difficult decision of whether or not to forgive someone? Did you decide to do it? Or was what that person did to you just so unforgivable that you held on to your grudge, even years later? These are some of the questions that the writers in this anthology explored in this fine selection of short stories. Through a short story, poem, or reflective essay, writers from the Goodreads.com Writers750 Group were asked to consider what forgiveness means, either from the perspective of the one being forgiven, or from the perspective of the one doing the forgiving. This collection of stories covers a range of topics for your reading pleasure; from stories of forgiveness for property theft, to renditions of familiar biblical stories, to tales of survival from past hurts, and even a few non-traditional gems as well! Explore these insightful stories offered by; C. Baely, Stephanie Baskerville, Cora Bhatia, Christene Britton-Jones, F.F. Burwick, Rejoice Denhere, Lynne Farley, Patricia Fuqua Lovett, Sojourner McConnell, Lena Pate, Glenda Reynolds, David Russell, Heather Marie Schuldt and Joanne Van Leerdam. Embark on a journey with these fourteen authors, who take you inside their own view of the power of forgiveness.

Great book of stories about forgiveness. I enjoyed the collection, especially "Coal miner's daughter" and "Forgive you heart, not your mind". The reason I didn't give this five stars is because while the stories are good it bothered me that they were mostly made up and relied heavily on religion. From the sound of the book I thought these would be based on true stories not made up possibilities. To write powerful stories of forgiveness I feel you should live through the experience you write about. Personal opinion. Comforting and thought provoking I would recommend this book for reading. Thank you to Glenda for giving me the opportunity to win this in a goodreads giveaway!

These stories are full of emotional and spiritual healing. It was a pleasure to edit these stories before publication. As a contributor, a bit of my soul went into "A Gift Multiplied" - the story of the boy who gave Jesus his loaves and fishes to feed the multitude, and "Coal Minor's Daughter" - a story based on true events of the life of my mother in her childhood. But as a whole, I'm proud and blessed to have these collections of stories to share with people who are in need of their own release and healing. Don't let unforgiveness hold you back. Let these stories help you to move forward in your life.

A wonderful collection of writing from different authors, all exploring the effects of either giving or withholding forgiveness.

If you've ever experienced the difference forgiveness can make, or if you need to, this book is for you.
