Just published in April 2017 The Power of Forgiveness: a Collection of Short Stories - created by the Goodreads group Writers 750. I have two short stories in this anthology: A Gift Multiplied and Coal Minor's Daughter Some of these stories go deeper than just forgiveness. Some are spiritual healing and reconciliation.

31 Days of October, another anthology from authors at Writers 750 Goodreads - great flash fiction on the creepy, paranormal side. Read my stories, "Family Hallowe'en Traditions", "Curse of the Incan Mummies", and "Two Men and a Van".

My short story I Chose the Best of the Litter has been published by Lois Stern in Tales2Inspire: The Garnet Collection, stories of Feathers and Fur. This was the emotional journey of Rambo

Sometimes I tell myself that I'm not inspired to write for a certain challenge, and I will put it aside in my mind. Then suddenly an idea will come later that just has legs of its own. Sometimes I do my best writing on the day of the deadline.(less)

1. I have established my writing space: laptop on the dining room table with a view of palms & a garden.

2. I find my inspiration - my big idea. Sometimes I have to research for the complete idea & story. I don't necessarily think "reader-first". I write with my own voice as if I'm writing it to myself.

3. I rarely do an outline to write. I am a "pantser" (write by the seat of my pants - with structure). Both my characters and I don't know what's around the bend until it unfolds. When that happens, I'm in my writing mode, and the next thing I know is that the hubby is begging for dinner.

4. I try to put just enough description and dialogue to keep it interesting but not boring. Action and conflict will keep the reader engaged. I always try to have a climax and a good ending.

5. I acknowledge a sacred deadline for story completion.

6. When I've reached my word limit (flash fiction), then I edit / polish and see how it could still be made better.

by Glenda Reynolds  The guest house was bone cold that I found myself banished to. It had stayed empty for years since no one ever came to visit. It had seen better days and needed tender loving care, just like me. These were my thoughts as I brushed the cobwebs from the door knocker with one hand and carried my suitcase with the other. When the door creaked open, I was disappointed to see tha... Read more of this blog post »
